Wayfair experiences? Too good to be true?!

Any experiences - positive or negative - with ordering from Wayfair? Their prices seem too good to be true, especially with free shipping!

My two problems were: very slow shipping and inaccurate measurements. I ordered a bookcase one time, and after some laborious unpacking and hiring help to carry it upstairs, I discovered the measurements were 25% or more off (smaller than advertised). I wrote Wayfair and never heard back. My negative review also was not posted on the product page.

I've heard for wall paper, rugs, lamps etc all good but maybe not for big things

Try not to tear up the packaging, if you're returning something they want it in the original container. I always check pricing across the web via Google too

I use Wayfair a lot for clients, never had a problem . IMO there are some things I would not order on line like sofas for instance

Thanks for all of the responses. I'm looking at purchasing a bed - as in a headboard, not a mattress.

I would fully order a headboard from them.

I had good luck with runners and area rugs from Wayfair. I thought quality for price was excellent. For two headboards, I used Lamps Plus. They have stores in the western U.S. and extensive website. I also bought nightstands and five hanging lights from LampsPlus and was very pleased.

Positive experience here. I ordered large area rug. Price was good and shipping was fast. Unfortunately the color ended up not working in my room, but the return process was pretty easy. I would order from them again.

we have a nice wood cabinet with granite top (for our toaster oven) and a big entertainment console from wayfair. both were perfect and as advertised.

i find the comments on wayfair very useful. if there are any shortcomings with the item, people before you were happy to tell everyone. : )

there is a bit of 'you get what you pay for'. items that would be fine for your den might not look like what you'd want for a formal dining room. it pays to have a sensible expectation.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Wayfair. I have ordered a desk, art, rugs, pillows, lamps and bedding from the site. The only problem was a lamp that did not work. They immediately sent another one without me having to return the original. I donated it with a note that it was new but not working. Read everything carefully, including reviews! Sometimes the reviews don't speak so much to the quality of the item as much as to the delivery or a problem with customer service. I have had not problem with either.

I tested Wayfair out with a headboard. I was a little nervous, but did my research on the front end and it ended up being a great experience. Totally as easy as they'd said. Just save your packaging for a minute in case you have an issue and need to explore a return.

I bought a bed from Wayfair (not just the headboard). Shipping took a couple of weeks, all parts and pieces were included, and the product was as expected. Do check Overstock.com. They often carry the same products but if you sign up for emails, you get some decent coupons that make the difference between using Wayfair and Overstock. I've used both retailers and they're both equally good in my opinion.

Wayfair customer service is so good imo..but product description can sometimes mislead .i.e.currently ebern Grosvenor 1000tc percale sheets are described as 10 cm deep but are in fact 10 inches and generously sized ,also lovely big pillow cases , currently at fabulous prices

We purchased a leather sofa and after six months both of the pop-up broke. Wayfair would do nothing for us.

They sell mostly junk and if you have a problem, even though you spent $4200 on a sofa, they will not do anything for you

Horrible customer service. I cancelled the order in less than ten minutes of ordering. The sent the item anyway. Unboxed unordered and unwanted they would not take it back for a full refund. In the course of my conversation it strongly seemed like I was lied to several times. I cancelled the item because it had a cheap appearance. Its worse in that regard than I thought.
