Animal vomit is not as upsetting to wood as cat urine. The concept of "all tile" often comes with location.

Someone in Alaska isn't going to throw in 2000sf of tile. It is too cold and too hard. Only the expensive builds with IN FLOOR radiant heat ($10,000 extra) will use tile throughout in cold locations.

Florida, Nevada, Texas, etc are the places where tile is king. Because it is cool and helps keep the home cool.

So the concept of tile is a very good one with pets as described....but the question I ask is: Where are you located?

Can you find a tile that looks good that isn't the wood-look tile? Something less trendy would be better in the long run.
