The floors are white marble and the marble is brought up to wainscot height in the water closet with a heavy chair rail in a matching white marble. Above the chair rail is a gorgeous tone on tone damask wallpaper. The freestanding tub sits in front of a custom designed floor length mirror. White marble chair rail pieces were used to craft the outer portion of the frame and mother of pearl mosaics were used for the inner frame and then completed with a small piece of chair ail. The mosaic tile is repeated behind the vanities in lieu of the standard 4” marble backsplash and topped with a pencil rail out of marble. The double cabinets on each end of the vanities allow for plentiful storage and offer the opportunity to create a valance connecting the two. The depth allows for recessed lighting to be tucked out of site and just a sliver of trim finishes off the edges of the mirror.
The barrel tray is magically transformed into a soft pearlized finish with just a hint of color swirled magically, reflecting beautifully with the enhancement of rope lighting hidden by the cove molding. Architectural designer,
Schonbek crystal chandeliers and sconces adorn the bath and quality of the crystal is noted by the colors created by the prisms dancing so gloriously around the room.
The silk rug is from Stark and the ottoman was brought from their previous home and is from the Baker furniture line. A beautiful inlay tray from BoJay designs holds multiple bath products. Rohl towel hooks, tissue holders and robe hooks are tipped with Swarovski crystal ends.

Prior to the renovation, the kitchen had dated cabinetry and appliances, mismatched countertop surfaces and an impractical layout. The remodel included updating and relocating appliances, refacing cabinets, adding granite countertops, and installing a custom tempered glass “waterfall” bar to seat four. The designer commissioned an intricate marble mosaic backsplash, illuminated by dimmable LED tape lighting. Energy efficient appliances include an in-wall Gaggenau coffee maker and oven, a stainless side-by-side refrigerator and dishwasher, a six-burner gas stove topped by a custom fabricated stainless hood vent, and an industrial modern sink and hardware. The designer customized the steel and crystal chandelier over the island.
The adjacent keeping room was significantly improved by editing light fixtures and defining seating arrangements for dining and lounging. A durable cowhide, lengthy media console and modular sofa accommodate 360-degree entertaining. The tempered glass and steel breakfast room furniture seats six while remaining compact. Long white cotton curtains soften the space while filtering late afternoon sun in both the keeping and living rooms.

This early 90's contemporary home was in need of some major updates and when my clients purchased it they were ready to make it their own. The home features large open rooms, great natural light and stunning views of Lake Washington. These clients love bold vibrant colors and clean modern lines so the goal was to incorporate those in the design without it overwhelming the space. Balance was key. The end goal was for the home to feel open and airy yet warm and inviting. This was achieved by bringing in punches of color to an otherwise white or neutral palate. Texture and visual interest were achieved throughout the house through the use of wallpaper, fabrics, and a few one of a kind artworks.
