A traditional kitchen with gray and blue cabinets, beautiful wood flooring, a large kitchen island with room for three bar stools. Perfect for both family meals and entertaining. Design by Annie Lowengart and photo by David Duncan Livingston.

The kitchen island is truly the focal point of the space. It provides both work area and seating in addition to a ton of storage. The Island has two countertops, Barroca soapstone that meets custom made maple butcher block for the last 1/3 of the counter. This breaks the island visually creating a separate feel in the large space.

Andrew McKinney Photography Not every kitchen on houzz is enormous! Here's a 10' x 10' kitchen. It seems that painted white kitchens never go out of favor. While the cabinets, faucets and hardware lean toward a more traditional look, that look is tempered by the modern lines of grey glass tile and the chimney hood. And instead of carrara marble counter tops, the client opted for quartz for a similar look (Cambria's "Torquay").
