An Italian style tile that flows seamlessly into the frameless shower enclosure is the focal point of this bathroom renovation. Using that same tile we created a six hook towel rack for the homeowner. Borrowing color from the tile, the homeowners chose a beautiful navy blue vanity with brushed nickel hardware, Cambria quartz countertops and a brushed nickel faucet.

The large sectional with a chaise was ideal for this family’s needs and the swivel chair was added for extra seating. When clients want cozy; pillows, throws, rugs and window treatments are usually in the mix. We borrowed the art from the dining room to use here because they loved the nature inspired motif. We then added two canvas art pieces (window wall) to harmonize with the theme. Spring arrives with a burst of May-flowering fruit trees and lilacs (as viewed from the elevated deck). Space is at a premium in this central city garden. The garden is extended vertically through the use of espaliered and semi-dwarf apple trees, as well as horizontally through borrowed diagonal views. The border shown is sloped downward, facing SW, and forms a sun trap. The E property line actually bisects the slope, but the boundaries are blurred through prolific planting and co-gardening with a neighbour.

A husband-wife advertising couple purchased her grandparents' ranch style home and wanted an updated bathroom. He's a Graphic Artist/Animator and she's in Account Planning, so good design is a must. Both have an appreciation for retro styles, but it was important that it feel current. (Note the illustration of Godzilla that hangs on the wall.) What a transformation! The bathroom was reconfigured and expanded borrowing space from a large bedroom closet to achieve the owners’ goal of adding storage. A new 9-foot long custom cherry-wood vanity complements the traditional home. The tub surround and tub apron are quartz tile.

Inspiration for a modern living room remodel in Los Angeles

This petite kitchen was previously closed off from the dining and living room. The compact size of the kitchen made it difficult for the client to host their large family gatherings. With the new design, the spaces were joined by removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room. The space of the kitchen was optimized by recessing items into adjacent walls. The refrigerator was recessed into the wall of the adjacent garage. The ovens, pantry, and appliance garage were recessed into the wall, borrowing a few square feet from the bedroom closet and living room. The finishes throughout the kitchen celebrate the clients love of travel and collection of keepsakes from around the world. The mosaic printed tiles on the backsplash and refrigerator wrap bring an eclectic mix of encaustic tile designs from around the world. Creamy neutrals abound in this Bryn Mawr classic master bath renovation. A clever rearrangement, handsome cabinetry and borrowed space make all the difference in this room. The use of honed marble and cream cabinetry established the luxurious yet casual feel the homeowners were after. Mirrored cabinet fronts add visual interest and a bit of “pop and sparkle” to the subdued palette.
