The elegant Entry Hall to this apartment is lined with hand painted Gracie wall-paper. The metal railing was re-worked using the original metal pieces and more detail was added along with carved brass inserts. The border of the floor is embellished with an inlay Greek key. We were asked to add a small sunroom off a beautiful 1960's living room. Our approach was to continue the lines of the living room out into the landscape. Opening up and glazing the walls on either side of the fireplace gave more presence to the Dale Chihuly piece mounted above while visually connecting to the garden and the new addition. This young family wanted to update their kitchen and loved getting away to the coast. We tried to bring a little of the coast to their suburban Chicago home. The statement pantry doors with antique mirror add a wonderful element to the space. The large island gives the family a wonderful space to hang out, The custom "hutch' area is actual full of hidden outlets to allow for all of the electronics a place to charge. Warm brass details and the stunning tile complete the area.

The vintage desk creates a compact space to do work. The bright colors of the lucite panel chandelier and the hand stiched Indian bedspread pick up the colors of the surfboards in the large format photo of Avila Beach. Inspiration for a contemporary entryway remodel in San Francisco with white walls

Along with Konrady & Son Construction, we transformed the master suite, eliminating the soaking tub and replacing it with a fully custom walk-in shower complete with a Rohl rainfall showerhead and frameless glass door. With functionality resolved, we needed a style direction and for the art-loving clients with bold taste, a classic, French-inspired scheme was an obvious choice. The vanity (not pictured) was designed around the client’s vintage chair and art deco pendant hanging above.

A simply designed Foyer provides a welcome to the home and sets the design tone for what to expect upon entry. Across from 2 large closets, we were able to create an open storage area that is functional but attractive.
