When our long-time clients, decidedly urban dwellers, de-camped from the city to the suburbs in 2019, we helped them remake their “too-traditional” new house into a home that better fit their style. A recently-completed house by a developer, we set-out from day one to sprinkle their preferred contemporary, more-urban-than-suburban style throughout the spaces. All without major architectural changes. We changed all the decorative lighting and doors throughout the home to allow the architecture to better align with their style. The home is now layered with clean-lines, modern fabrics, vibrant colors, and contemporary art. The result is the perfect coexistence of contemporary and traditional – without letting either feel out of place.

A family with a deep love for nature envisioned a place where generations of their family could come together, connect with nature, and create lasting memories. The master plan was to create a family campus featuring a main house for gathering, three "sibling" cottages, a boathouse, and a dock. The composition for each of these structures is to live, as a family, independently and also in relation to each other. The design revolves around the concept of coexistence with nature, catering to clients who lead an active outdoor lifestyle. The design aims to blur the interior spaces and the surrounding Maine landscape.

From the street, the Bowmanville House commands attention with its confident interplay of form, color, and texture. The design alternates between light and dark volumes, with white Trespa panels stacked above deep brown cladding and black accents. This layering not only enhances the home's visual depth but also anchors the structure firmly to its double-lot site. Amber’s homes are meant to be lived in. While the look may be reminiscent of an older time, the feel is relaxed, cozy and convenient. We believe elegance can coexist with comfort and can adapt the neoclassical look to meet modern-day demands. All mechanicals are modern and state-of-the-art but are incorporated into the esthetic without overcoming it. As with our exteriors, we try to use as much vintage material as possible and call upon our extensive network of vendors to unearth distinctive pieces: plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, fireplaces, old beams dredged from bogs, housing hardware. When actual period pieces are not available, we contract with peerless craftsmen who can fashion superb facsimiles. Our work is distinguished by attention to detail.

It is a distribution designed for the possible coexistence of two people who maintain a spatial freedom, giving this reason for the planning of two bedrooms completely separated by a walkway. Both bedrooms have beds of 140cm x 200cm, wardrobes, desk and independent windows. ​ As we mentioned, the bedrooms are separated by a walkway that has been conditioned as a reading space, it should also be noted that from that point we have a visual control of the space. ​ On the ground floor, we can see that the dead space of the stairs has been used as a kitchen where we have the burners, the oven and the odor extractor. We also have the rest of the public spaces such as the living room, the dining room, the toilet and the laundry room. ​ Some of the furniture presented in this flat renovation are products of Hbellorin thus giving a touch of exclusivity to the apartment.

Rodwin Architecture & Skycastle Homes Location: Boulder, CO USA Our clients asked us to breathe new life into a dark and chopped up 1990’s home, that had a solid shell but a dysfunctional floor plan and dated finishes. We took down all the walls and created an open concept, sunny plan where all the public social spaces connected. We added a Dutch front door and created both a foyer and proper mud-room for the first time, so guests now had a sense of arrival and a place to hang their jackets. The odd dated kitchen that was the heart of the home was rebuilt from scratch with a simple white and blue palette. We opened up the south wall of the main floor with large windows and doors to help BBQ’s and parties flow from inside to the patio. The sagging and faded wrap-around porch was rebuilt from scratch. We re-arranged the interior spaces to create a dream kid’s playroom packed with organized storage and just far enough away from the grown-ups so that everyone can co-exist peacefully. We redid the finishes & fixtures throughout, and opened up the staircase to be an elegant path through this 4 storey house. Built by Skycastle Construction.
