Small bed next to pool deck with almost 100% perennial plantings. The purple flowered bush in the middle is Mexican Petunia, which is annual but makes for a wonderful addition of color for the bed. It's super easy and should be planted in spring. It is an perennial in warmer growing zones.

For this kids’ bathroom in Wexford, our clients wanted to create a space that would grow along with their two young daughters throughout the years. Something that would be fun and playful now, with lots of color — but stylish enough to stand up to teenagers later on. To achieve this, our design centered on classic materials that didn’t sacrifice character: Crisp black and white zellige tile with tons of texture and sheen. A natural, oiled teak double vanity. Bright and clean polished chrome plumbing fixtures. To keep the room from feeling too sterile, we combined a sophisticated blue-green wall paint with cheerful, saturated pops of color throughout the bath linens and décor. Elements that are fun and youthful, that can be easily updated as the girls’ tastes evolve. To maximize function in the space, we added storage at the double vanity with large drawers and medicine cabinets above. Step stools below tuck neatly out of the way when not in use. We also included a tiled “shelf” that spans the full width of the tub in lieu of a smaller traditional shower niche. A super durable, low-profile cast iron tub insert makes bathtime easy — for kids and the family dog, alike!

This kitchen designed for the Junior League of Buffalo 2017 Decorator Showhouse was a full gut of the space. There were plumbing and HVAC pipes in the space that required custom modifications to cabinetry. Part of the hearth has a false back on the cabinet to accommodate some of the pipes. Additionally, the 10’ ceilings required a custom combination of cabinets and crown molding to reach the ceiling. The space contained 4 doorways so the use of angled cabinetry allowed for easier access in and out of the space. The room includes special design features such as the wood hearth to house the ventilation for over the range, custom under cabinet lighting and a wet bar housing a beverage center and an appliance for growing microgreens.

Over time, the hollies will grow together to form a continuous, evergreen hedge.

An entrepreneur moves his office out of his house as his business grows. He needs to completely start over with his furnishings in his…rental! A devoted single father, an incredible businessman in the sports industry, and a man who wants his space to support him and reflect his tastes, even if he doesn’t own the house. This is the Modern Man’s Game.

The homeowners of this 1917-built Kenwood area single family home originally came to us to update their outdated, yet spacious, master bathroom. Soon after beginning the process, these Minneapolitans also decided to add a kids’ bathroom and a powder room to the scope of work. The master bathroom functioned well for them but given its 1980’s aesthetics and a vanity that was falling apart, it was time to update. The original layout was kept, but the new finishes reflected the clean and fresh style of the homeowner. Black finishes on traditional fixtures blend a modern twist on a traditional home. Subway tiles the walls, marble tiles on the floor and quartz countertops round out the bathroom to provide a luxurious transitional space for the homeowners for years to come. The kids’ bathroom was in disrepair with a floor that had some significant buckles in it. The new design mimics the old floor pattern and all fixtures that were chosen had a nice traditional feel. To add whimsy to the room, wallpaper with maps was added by the homeowner to make it a perfect place for kids to get ready and grow. The powder room is a place to have fun – and that they did. A new charcoal tile floor in a herringbone pattern and a beautiful floral wallpaper make the small space feel like a little haven for their guests. With a baby on the way and old cabinets falling apart at the seams, a kitchen remodel was the number one priority for our clients in their charming, historic Denver home. It was essential to make the kitchen feel more spacious and open, while still maintaining it’s original footprint and privacy from the rest of the house. Cabinets on three out of four walls caved into the center of the kitchen, making it feel small and difficult for even two people to be moving about! By eliminating cabinetry on the west wall, we were able to not only make the kitchen feel bigger and brighter, but we also revealed the characteristic exposed brick that was hiding behind a string of cabinets! The brick wall adds so much character and, paired with the wainscoting, is a beautiful nod to the home’s historic charm. As passionate cooks and hosts, it was crucial for our clients to have an island to utilize the counter space for prepping food and having a place for friends or family to sit and chat while they cooked a meal. Small but mighty, the island is the center of attention with a beautiful black walnut butcher block countertop, cabinets for storage, and seating for three! Our favorite feature in this kitchen sits just above the gas range; the custom wood surround on the range hood was handcrafted onsite as the final finishing touch. The elements of the natural wood, soft French grey cabinets, satin brass hardware and intricate marble herringbone backsplash all come together on this one wall, giving you a moment of cohesive glee. We are thrilled with the transformation, and our clients are elated to have a beautiful new kitchen for their new, growing family.
