“Brickart” - a shaped clay, wisely molded, aged and artfully glazed all over unique surface’s imperfections. The collection is set forth an exclusive and surprising personality in the versatile 2” x 9” size where colors and shades evolve in a prestigious, organic and colorful concept.

This New England home has the essence of a traditional home, yet offers a modern appeal. The home renovation and addition involved moving the kitchen to the addition, leaving the resulting space to become a formal dining and living area. The extension over the garage created an expansive open space on the first floor. The large, cleverly designed space seamlessly integrates the kitchen, a family room, and an eating area. A substantial center island made of soapstone slabs has ample space to accommodate prepping for dinner on one side, and the kids doing their homework on the other. The pull-out drawers at the end contain extra refrigerator and freezer space. Additionally, the glass backsplash tile offers a refreshing luminescence to the area. A custom designed informal dining table fills the space adjacent to the center island. Paint colors in keeping with the overall color scheme were given to the children. Their resulting artwork sits above the family computers. Chalkboard paint covers the wall opposite the kitchen area creating a drawing wall for the kids. Around the corner from this, a reclaimed door from the grandmother's home hangs in the opening to the pantry. Design Firm - Lee Meier Interiors Once a small enclosed kitchen, this spacious kitchen became absolutely amazing once we removed the wall between the kitchen and laundry room. Moving the laundry room to the second level allowed for two islands and appliances any family of five would love. The two requests my client had was to make their kitchen organized and family friendly. I created zones throughout the kitchen to make the ease of use much more efficient. The prep island with butcher block has all of the cooking essentials close by. The refrigerator and microwave were strategically placed so that the children may access at anytime, while others may continue cooking. The large island allows for plenty of seating on one side, storage for cookbooks on both ends and a baking station opposite of the seating. Separated from the everyday action is a wonderful bar area for the adults in the home. I designed the space to not only have separate zones with cabinetry, but also with lighting. Each space has specific lighting to improve on the tasks at hand. The butlers pantry was designed to give storage and counter space leading into the dining room. To add more function to the area, the top drawer has a built in charging station with enough space for all tablets and phones. This fun family of fives kitchen is not only beautiful to look at, but serves well the heart of the home!

A helpful jump spot equipped with a computer in nestled in the hallway off the large kitchen. Double oven makes sure that you can have a whole meal of the table at one time. Sleek and durable surfaces such as Bianco Romano granite counter tops and Arctic Snow ceramic subway tiles share a common beveled edge detail. Shaker style cabinets make for a simple look that is tastefully topped off with curvy crown molding.

On the first floor, mom’s home office doubles as a crafts room for the kids. The window bench and surrounding bookcases are custom built-ins designed by Down2Earth Interior Design. Within the built-ins, Games are kept down low for easy reach, while closed cabinets can hide messier items. Items displayed on open shelving above are accented by a teal blue background color. The cushion and window treatments are custom designed to lend a cozy air to the window seat, which takes advantage of the view out to the beautiful, leafy neighborhood. Purple acrylic chairs can take a beating at the kids’ crafts table. Designed by Bilotta’s Tom Vecchio with Samantha Drew Interiors, this traditional two-toned kitchen features Rutt Handcrafted Cabinetry in a warm mix of Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White paint and cherry with a stain. The expansive space is perfect for a large family that hosts a great deal of guests. The 15’ wide sink wall features a 36” wide farm house sink situated in front of a large window, offering plenty of light, and is flanked by a double pull-out trash and “knock-to-open” Miele dishwasher. At the opposite end of the room a banquette sits in front of another sunny window and comfortably seats eight people. In between the sink wall and banquette sits a 9’ long island which seats another four people and houses both a second dishwasher and a hidden charging station for phones and computers. The countertops on both the island and perimeter are polished Biano Rhino Marble and the backsplash is a handmade subway tile from Southampton Masonry. The flooring, also from Southampton Masonry, is a Silver Travertine – coupled with all of the other finishes the room gives off a serene, coastal feeling. The hardware, in a polished chrome finish, is from Cliffside; the sink and faucet from Rohl. The dining table, seating and decorative lighting is all from Samantha Drew Interiors in East Setauket, NY. The appliances, most of which are fully integrated with custom wood panels (including the 72” worth of refrigeration!), are by Viking, except for the custom metal hood. The window treatments, which are operated electronically for easy opening and closing, are also by Samantha Drew Interiors using Romo Fabrics. The Savvy Extension Desk from Mobital is one of our favorite pieces. It’s white lacquer so it disappears into most condo walls which are lighter in colour. It has three large drawers which offer plenty of clothes storage & an extension L-shape arm so it can also be used as a desk OR vanity giving, 3 pieces in 1. In Albert’s case, we also needed a place for a microwave. This meant the Savvy Extension Desk was functioning as part of the kitchen as well a a surface for the microwave AND computer.
