The scope of this project was to remove an old liner pool and concrete deck. The new includes a paver deck, concrete pool and hot tub, outdoor kitchen, landscaping and a cabana house to include a living room/rest area, full bathroom with steam shower, and gym.

The pool is flanked by two rows of acid-etched concrete stepping stones. Each stone is bordered on three sides by sections of artificial turf for low maintenance. The fourth side abuts the sections of natural lawn which serve as large play areas for the children.

This was a remodel of the homeowners "florida room" - the roofline used to be much lower, and we had to raise the ceiling line to make it taller so that we could have as much of the door be glass and open space to see the great view. We put in travertine tiles in the Florida Room which was then carried out to the new patio, but the existing pool - previously, was much larger, however they were looking for something more along the lines of a "dipping pool" so we replaced the larger pool with a smaller pool with additional levels. The deck was extended and we planted new palm trees and new landscaping. We also incorporated water features alongside the pool to give the feel of a unique aquatic oasis.

The 11’ x 23’ dry Gunite pool’s dark grey Armourcoat interior contrasts beautifully with the deck of Wiarton flagstone set on concrete. Across the deep end a series of flagstone slabs are separated by strips of ground cover to help the runoff water the shrubs. The entire backyard is essentially low maintenance.

This pool deck used to be plain concrete slabs. We gave it the look and feel of natural stone. Its slip resistant, ling-lasting and wonderful. RenuKrete is sustainable: Instead of removing the original concrete deck, we kept it in place! The color theme is "Hurricane Slate."

With its oriental plantings, privacy screens and raised activity areas, this poolscape brings the serenity of a Japanese garden to mind - exactly as the homeowner intended. The rectangular pool is finished in grey Armorcoat with porcelain tile edging and Indiana limestone coping and decking.
