The primary bathroom takes center stage in promoting relaxation, featuring a spa-like ambiance with soothing colors, heated floors, a beautiful soaking tub, and gentle under-counter lighting creating a tranquil atmosphere. A cleverly integrated cabinet space is also available, providing a discreet storage solution for the less aesthetically pleasing litter box while ensuring easy access for our feline friends. In the kitchen, attention to detail shines through with a stunning wood-trimmed vent hood and wooden pulls that punctuate the Indigo Blue cabinets, introducing natural elements and a touch of warmth. Ample storage was a crucial requirement for this kitchen. Featuring expansive pull-out drawers, a concealed lazy Susan, impressive spice storage, and a discreet power source for the cordless vacuum, every detail has been considered for optimal functionality. Connected to the kitchen, you'll discover a dining area designed for versatility. This multipurpose zone seamlessly integrates wine storage, pantry space, a dedicated baking center, cocktail preparation area, and a convenient coffee zone. The main level's powder room pays homage to the homeowners' roots, boasting a vibrant wallpaper by Chasing Paper that adds a playful touch. The harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality continues with an additional mixed-use space that serves as a delightful getaway, complete with outdoor access and ample countertop space for both utility and enjoyment. This main floor remodel in Lenexa, Kansas, was the third phase of a full-home transformation for our longtime clients. After previously renovating their basement and primary bathroom, they invited us back to reimagine the heart of their home with fresh perspective and elevated function. The entryway was completely transformed from a builder-basic pass-through into a bright, welcoming focal point that sets the tone for the entire main floor. In the kitchen, we reworked the layout to improve flow and maximize storage, while introducing timeless finishes and thoughtful details that now carry throughout the home. The family room was redesigned to feel warm, cohesive, and connected—complete with custom built-ins and a refreshed fireplace. We also converted the former laundry room into a fully functional prep kitchen, and redesigned the mudroom to meet the demands of daily life without compromising style. This project reflects a balance of beauty, utility, and personal expression, with every space tailored to support how this family lives and gathers in their home.

When we met this family of 5 (months from being a family of 6!), their first floor felt outdated and disconnected. They dreamed of a space that felt light and airy, yet infused with rich, earthy materials to create warmth and add bold character. More than just a refresh, they needed a functional layout that worked for everyday life—cooking, laundry, entertaining friends, and even unwinding with a cocktail at the end of the day. Extending the kitchen into the morning room seating area enhanced both flow and functionality, while a spacious island became the heart of the home—ideal for casual family meals, meal prep, and hosting friends. A dedicated beverage station with a sink, refrigeration, and an awning window for indoor-outdoor entertaining allows for an effortless transition from morning routines to afternoon snacks on the patio. The laundry room was designed with designated storage for all four kids, creating an organized and functional space. It also serves as a practical landing zone when entering the home, seamlessly extending the light and airy theme with thoughtful design details and playful touches.

Dining room - transitional dining room idea in Houston

They always loved their house – its shape and size, and the piece of land it sits on; but the interior left a lot to be desired. In fact, they hated it. They wanted it to be aesthetically more pleasing and to have much more function and flow. These homeowners challenged Lagois to make it the home of their dreams, and that’s exactly what happened. One of the homeowners loves to cook, but the kitchen was dark. The space was difficult and frustrating. The new kitchen is bigger, brighter, and more functional. It now has all the prep space he needs and the task lighting he always wanted. They also love their new spa bathroom, which is beautiful and warm and exactly what they had in mind. One of the homeowners describes himself as fussy and impatient, and at first he had been anxious about the whole prospect of renovation. He said afterwards that the team made him feel comfortable, listened to, and unconcerned. One factor that made them so at ease with choosing Lagois was the “in house” aspect of their services. The person who designed their home, the one who did the drawings, and the person who managed the construction are all Lagois employees. The homeowners liked knowing those critical functions weren’t outsourced. Another thing they love about their home is the finishes that are exactly to their taste. The homeowners are delighted with the new interior of their home. It is now something they love – both outside and inside.

This project is all about transforming a dark, outdated kitchen into a bright, modern, and highly functional space designed for everyday living. Featuring custom RTA cabinetry with an appliance garage and full pantry, stunning quartz countertops, handcrafted Zellige tile backsplash with custom shelving, upgraded lighting, and a beautifully integrated wine fridge area, every detail was thoughtfully curated to create a warm, elevated, and timeless kitchen that blends style with function.

Living room - transitional living room idea in Tampa

Completed in partnership with LAM Studios Inc., this Fall 2024 renovation transformed multiple areas of a Dilworth home into a cohesive, functional, and beautifully updated living environment. The project included a complete kitchen remodel, living room renovation, bathroom remodel, laundry room update, dining room renovation, fireplace enhancement, and hallway improvements. The kitchen serves as the centerpiece of the renovation, featuring improved functionality, modern finishes, and a layout designed to support everyday living and entertaining. Adjacent living and dining spaces were thoughtfully redesigned to create a seamless flow throughout the home, while the updated fireplace provides a warm and inviting focal point. Additional improvements to the bathroom, laundry room, and hallway enhanced both comfort and efficiency, ensuring every space contributes to the home's overall functionality and style. Through careful planning, quality craftsmanship, and timeless design choices, this renovation successfully blends modern living with lasting elegance. The result is a beautifully refreshed home that feels brighter, more connected, and perfectly tailored to the homeowners' lifestyle.

This project was an opportunity to design many of our favorite spaces: a stunning kitchen, a functional mudroom, unexpectedly funky wall coverings, and timeless brass finishes. Our clients, a family of four, loved their home but knew there were missed opportunities for functionality. We renovated their dated kitchen and designed an addition that houses a large mudroom-laundry room combination and a powder bath. We love the timeless sensibility of this reimagined home, juxtaposed by storied materials like handmade tile, woven textures, warm metals, and rustic woods.
