The original master bath had a 1980s style in dire need of change. By stealing an adjacent bedroom for the new master closet, the bath transformed into an artistic and spacious space. The jet-black herringbone-patterned floor adds visual interest to highlight the freestanding soaking tub. Schoolhouse-style shell white sconces flank the matching his and her vanities. The new generous master shower features polished nickel dual shower heads and hand shower and is wrapped in Bedrosian Porcelain Manifica Series in Luxe White with satin finish.
The kitchen started as dated and isolated. To add flow and more natural light, the wall between the bar and the kitchen was removed, along with exterior windows, which allowed for a complete redesign. The result is a streamlined, open, and light-filled kitchen that flows into the adjacent family room and bar areas – perfect for quiet family nights or entertaining with friends.
Crystal Cabinets in white matte sheen with satin brass pulls, and the white matte ceramic backsplash provides a sleek and neutral palette. The newly-designed island features Calacutta Royal Leather Finish quartz and Kohler sink and fixtures. The island cabinets are finished in black sheen to anchor this seating and prep area, featuring round brass pendant fixtures. Crossing the threshold, you know this is the home you’ve always dreamed of. At home in any neighborhood, Pineleigh’s architectural style and family-focused floor plan offers timeless charm yet is geared toward today’s relaxed lifestyle. Full of light, warmth and thoughtful details that make a house a home, Pineleigh enchants from the custom entryway that includes a mahogany door, columns and a peaked roof. Two outdoor porches to the home’s left side offer plenty of spaces to enjoy outdoor living, making this cedar-shake-covered design perfect for a waterfront or woodsy lot. Inside, more than 2,000 square feet await on the main level. The family cook is never isolated in the spacious central kitchen, which is located on the back of the house behind the large, 17 by 30-foot living room and 12 by 18 formal dining room which functions for both formal and casual occasions and is adjacent to the charming screened-in porch and outdoor patio. Distinctive details include a large foyer, a private den/office with built-ins and all of the extras a family needs – an eating banquette in the kitchen as well as a walk-in pantry, first-floor laundry, cleaning closet and a mud room near the 1,000square foot garage stocked with built-in lockers and a three-foot bench. Upstairs is another covered deck and a dreamy 18 by 13-foot master bedroom/bath suite with deck access for enjoying morning coffee or late-night stargazing. Three additional bedrooms and a bath accommodate a growing family, as does the 1,700-square foot lower level, where an additional bar/kitchen with counter, a billiards space and an additional guest bedroom, exercise space and two baths complete the extensive offerings.
Watkins Concrete Block Company, Inc.With very subtle features, this backyard has stone walls to give the two fireplace areas a slight feeling of isolation in a very open backyard. All it took was two short, curved walls and a one-step platform.
Kitchens Direct, IncPrior to being renovated, the existing rooms of this home were compartmentalized into claustrophobic sections, barely serving their individual functions in relative isolation. With a belief that utility need not exist independent of comfort, we looked to open up and expand the kitchen space into an existing porch. We feel this answered the client's call for a combined kitchen and living space while improving on all functional elements of the design. Throughout the project we would keep our focus on the goal of bringing the home into the modern age, without sacrificing the client's desire for a comfortable, family friendly feel.

NILESThis private studio, built in collaboration with producer, engineer, and pianist Ian Miller, is a fully custom creative space designed around his workflow and artistic process. The project blended NILES’ technical execution with Ian’s hands-on finishing work, resulting in a studio where every corner has intention and every system supports a seamless, plug-and-play workflow.
The structure began as a barn-style two-car garage with a second floor. After exploring several layouts and engineering options, we landed on a design that leveraged the high ceilings and existing footprint to create a dynamic and spacious acoustic environment. Generous daylight from surrounding windows connects the interior to the outdoors, while layered textures, warm tones, and custom finishes create a grounded yet inspiring atmosphere.
The Control Room is fully isolated from the rest of the building with sound-reducing wall systems, a full soft-ceiling bass trap, tuned corner traps, treatment throughout, and full-lite doors for controlled transmission and visibility. Though modest in size, it delivers accurate monitoring and integrates smoothly with the larger live environment.
Roasted Bean Studio was built to support any direction Ian pursues—from producing to mixing to live performance. The space provides the sonic palette and creative flexibility needed for a wide range of projects, offering a visually inspiring and acoustically reliable environment that empowers his work every day.
Cello TechnologiesWe designed double seals on the theater door (as well as on the hidden door into the snack bar/kitchen) to isolate the room, as well as provide an acoustic surface within the room.
Architecture OfficeNestled in an undeveloped thicket between two homes on Monmouth road, the Eastern corner of this client’s lot plunges ten feet downward into a city-designated stormwater collection ravine. Our client challenged us to design a home, referencing the Scandinavian modern style, that would account for this lot’s unique terrain and vegetation.
Through iterative design, we produced four house forms angled to allow rainwater to naturally flow off of the roof and into a gravel-lined runoff area that drains into the ravine. Completely foregoing downspouts and gutters, the chosen design reflects the site’s topography, its mass changing in concert with the slope of the land.
This two-story home is oriented around a central stacked staircase that descends into the basement and ascends to a second floor master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The main entrance—a triangular form subtracted from this home’s rectangular plan—opens to a kitchen and living space anchored with an oversized kitchen island. On the far side of the living space, a solid void form projects towards the backyard, referencing the entryway without mirroring it. Ground floor amenities include a bedroom, full bathroom, laundry area, office and attached garage.
Among Architecture Office’s most conceptually rigorous projects, exterior windows are isolated to opportunities where natural light and a connection to the outdoors is desired. The Monmouth home is clad in black corrugated metal, its exposed foundations extending from the earth to highlight its form.
The Myers TouchWe worked alongside ACG Architects and accessible kitchen design specialist, Adam Thomas to create this stunning wheelchair-accessible kitchen so our client could prepare, cook and serve meals for her family independently.
We designed this kitchen to have three different heights to enable our client and family to prepare and cook food easily. For example, the accessible worktop with a custom-made sink was made to be 870mm - the perfect height for a wheelchair user.
Other key features in this design include wheelchair level ovens with tray slides that sit directly under two Neff Slide & Glide ovens, a Neff Steamer and a Microwave, so hot oven trays can be moved easily across each tray slide.
A pull-out shelf allows for food/trays to be moved easily to the worktop level that was designed to be lower than standard for wheel-chair use. In front of the hob, there is also a protective lip at the edge of the worktop to stop a pan from boiling over onto the floor, or onto the client's lap.
A stone sink was also custom made by Cosentino, so it wasn’t too deep for our client to reach into.
The architects included wood slatting across the entire ground floor that creating a stunning feature in the kitchen space. Each slat was designed to run with precision over the door units - there were also toasters and pull-out drawers hidden behind this area which were designed to be isolated from the power when the doors were closed.
Mixing different materials and textures in a kitchen space created interest and contrast. The striking mix of the stained wood slatting, Graphite Grey cabinetry and durable Dekton Keon worktops in this collaborative kitchen design creates a real wow factor.
This kitchen design works for each family member with varying needs and heights so that it is a space that allows for the whole family to enjoy and create memories together.
