Inspiration for a transitional powder room remodel in Newark

Single, upwardly mobile attorney who recently became partner at his firm at a very young age. This is his first “big boy house” and after years of living college and dorm mismatched items, the client decided to work with our firm. The space was awkward occupying a top floor of a four story walk up. The floorplan was very efficient; however it lacked any sense of “wow” There was no real foyer or entry. It was very awkward as it relates to the number of stairs. The solution: a very crisp black and while color scheme with accents of masculine blues. Since the foyer lacked architecture, we brought in a very bold and statement mural which resembles an ocean wave, creating movement. The sophisticated palette continues into the master bedroom where it is done in deep shades of warm gray. With a sense of cozy yet dramatic.

This eat-in kitchen is for a young family that appreciates a little color and pattern in their lives. The Galbraith & Paul pendant above the white lacquer table, blue chairs and patterned banquette are a fun approach to family dining. The dining room of the 1911 Shingle-style cottage is warm and comfortable. Off of the living room and adjacent to a porch greenhouse. The end chairs are by Kravet. The side chairs feature the same tapestry fabric. The dining room rug is similar to the living room rug, considered the "sister" rug with the same blues, oranges, golds and greens. In September of 2015, Boston magazine opened its eleventh Design Home project at Turner Hill, a residential, luxury golf community in Ipswich, MA. The featured unit is a three story residence with an eclectic, sophisticated style. Situated just miles from the ocean, this idyllic residence has top of the line appliances, exquisite millwork, and lush furnishings. The freestanding soaking tub and walk-in shower with cantilevered bench offer a refined balance of sculptural form and everyday comfort.
