A difficult spot for grass but this mix of microclover,native slender hairgrass, dwarf perennial rye and creeping red fescue does the job.

The new outdoor kitchen is surfaced in flagstone with brown grout to match the existing pool deck. The bar, with Slender Veldt Grass, and Pennisetum spathiolatum below, was handcrafted from a recycled cypress log. Horizontal siding covers the existing fence and continues on a sliding barn door to screen pool equipment.

Backyard includes 'Stumpland' for the children; cemented in place for climbing and winding in and out of the pathways. Circular gravel cut-out for childrens table/craft space

In the kitchen the countertop on the island is made of mesquite wood (an indigenous tree in the clients native Texas). The cabinets, made of alder wood, feature "cames" of grooved lead -similar to what is used in stained glass- in the crevices that run around the perimeter of the doors.
