Inspiration for a transitional home design remodel in DC Metro

An outdated fireplace was given a facelift to meet the more modern design aesthetic of the homeowners. While shiplap has a traditional feel to it, it was given a modern application by using 8" custom milled ash wood with a 1/4" nickel gap that relates to the remaining traditional millwork throughout the first floor. Ash wood was used because of its pronounced grain which adds an organic like movement to the space.

Refresh existing screen porch converting to 3/4 season sunroom, add gas fireplace with TV, new crown molding, nickel gap wood ceiling, stone fireplace, luxury vinyl wood flooring.
