We do a lot of American Black Walnut kitchen countertops. This kitchen island top is a little different. We used our water based topcoat so we did not add any color as oil based products do. It gives the top a lighter look and goes great with this southwestern style home built by Rob Ryan Homes here in Houston.

Custom concrete sink and vanity for kids bunk room. The concrete trough sink has a stepped front to make it easier for smaller kids to reach the sink. The vanity base also has pull out steps that are built into the toe-kick for smaller children. The vanity base is hand-crafted with a patinaed steel face frame and drawer fronts with reclaimed oak used throughout. The shelving also has a false back to hide the plumbing from curious kids. This gorgeous wide plank antique Oak is our most requested floor! With dramatic widths ranging from 6 to 12 inches (14 inches in some cases), you can easily bring an old-world charm into your home. This product comes to you completely pre-finished and ready to install. We start by hand sanding the surface, beveling the edges ever so slightly, and being careful to preserve the historical integrity of the planks. Typically, about 80% of your flooring will be "Smooth" with the remaining 20% having a slight texture from the original saw kerfs. This material will also have nail holes, knots, and checks which only adds to the unique character. Next, we apply Waterlox, a tung oil based sealant with or without stain added. Finally, 3 coats of Vermont Polywhey finish are added with a hand buffing between coats. The result is a luxurious satiny finish that you can only get from Historic Flooring! New 36" high clear red cedar fence and posts are a custom design. The wood was so beautiful we couldn't paint it. We pre-stained each piece with one coat of Cabot's oil base "white" semi-transparent stain. Corner posts are 1 x 8 cedar over a 4 x 4 post. Caps are one-piece and peaked to drain.

Custom locally built dining table designed by For a family wanting a dramatic entry and dining room, but with requirements that it be an indestructible venue for weekly brunches with guest lists including small children! Our first solution was to create a contrasting border integral to the hardwood floor, in lieu of an area rug. From there, we introduced furniture in resilient materials such as fiberglass chairs and a locally made custom table of Heather's design in reclaimed hardwood, steel and acrylic.
