Remodeling the master bath provided many design challenges. The long and narrow space was visually expanded by removing an impeding large linen closet from the space. The additional space allowed for two sinks where there was previously only one. In addition, the long and narrow window in the bath provided amazing natural light, but made it difficult to incorporate vanity mirrors that were tall enough. The designer solved this issue by incorporating pivoting mirrors that mounted just below the long window. Finally, a custom walnut vanity was designed to utilize every inch of space. The vanity front steps in and out on the ends to make access by the toilet area more functional and spacious. A large shower with a built in quartz shower seat and hand held shower wand provide touch of luxury. Finally, the ceramic floor tile design provides a mid century punch without overpowering the tranquil space.

This project was completed in conjunction with the construction of the home. The home’s architect was looking for someone who could design and build a new driveway, front entrance, walkways, patio, fencing, and plantings. The gardens were designed for the homeowner who had a real appreciation for gardening and was looking for variety and colour. The plants are all perennials that are relatively low maintenance while offering a wide variety of colours, heights, shapes and textures. For the hardscape, we used a Mondrian slab interlock for the main features and added a natural stone border for architectural detail.

Large picture windows looked out onto the empty narrow side yard. Our solution was to create a dramatic 3D modular installation with CorTen Planters filled with low maintenance cacti.

A large master bathroom that exudes glamor and edge. For this bathroom, we adorned the space with a large floating Alderwood vanity consisting of a gorgeous cherry wood finish, large crystal knobs, LED lights, and a mini bar and coffee station. We made sure to keep a traditional glam look while adding in artistic features such as the creatively shaped entryway, dramatic black accent walls, and intricately designed shower niche. Other features include a large crystal chandelier, porcelain tiled shower, and subtle recessed lights. Home located in Glenview, Chicago. Inspiration for a scandinavian bedroom remodel in Gothenburg

The homeowners were seeking a major renovation from their original master bath. The young family had completed several remodeling projects on the first floor of their 1980’s era home and the time had finally come where they wanted to focus on the second floor, particularly their master bath which was cramped and overpowered by a Jacuzzi-style tub. After multiple design meetings spent choosing the right hardware and materials, everything was set, and the transformation began! Drury designer, Diana Burton, began by borrowing some space from the bedroom this way they were able to reconfigure the whole layout, which made a big difference to the homeowner. The floating vanity cabinets paired with quartz counters, wall-mounted fixtures, and mirrors featuring built-in lighting enhance the room’s sleek, clean look.

Transforming a Master Bathroom When our clients purchased their beautiful home in South Fort Myers, FL they fell in love with the expansive, sweeping space. It wasn’t long, however, before they realized the master bathroom just didn’t suit their taste. The large walk-in shower was practically cave-like. Consequentially, it completely dwarfed the bathroom. Along with bland colors, outdated finishes, and a dividing wall in the middle of the room, the whole space felt smaller than its ample dimensions implied. There was no question about it – the bathroom needed an update. Making Room for More First, we demolished the existing finishes and cut the concrete slab for new underground plumbing. We minimized the imposing shower and moved it to the other side of the room. Moving the shower also allowed for the installation of our Dura Supreme Alectra style cabinetry in cocoa brown. For increased functionality, we created split his-and-hers vanities. Then we added towers to match the cabinets. With interior outlets, the towers added smart storage for bathroom appliances, helping to keep the counters clutter-free. For a finishing touch, we outlined the large mirrors with crown molding trim in a complimentary finish – an essential detail to tie all the cabinetry together. The Spa To bring the feel of the spa to this gorgeous home, we installed our luxurious drop-in 72”x42” Kohler Air Massage bathtub. We completely surrounded it with 3cm granite countertops in Delicatus green and added a tub deck with tile backsplashes for a sumptuous ambiance. Lighting On either side of the his-and-hers vanity, we installed George Kovach tube sconces. Vertical placement of the sconces provided ample lighting while enhancing the contemporary style of the space. To frame the room, we added a drop ceiling with recessed lighting and outlined the tray ceiling with crown molding to match the rest of the design. To complete the bath remodel, we installed the final element – a stunningly unique 10-light polished chrome chandelier from Maxim lighting. A Complete Transformation When we met with our clients, it was instantly clear to us why they were unhappy with their master bathroom. The cave-like shower and cumbersome dividing wall overpowered a room in dire need of a modernizing. Furthermore, with two small children and a busy lifestyle, we could sense our clients not only desired a bathroom renovation, they needed a relaxing retreat. Ultimately, this project was nothing less than a complete transformation of space. In fact, by the time we had finished, the only original fixtures left were the windows! With beautifully updated finishes and an improved layout, we were able to achieve the functionality our clients craved along with a new, spa-like feel. The end result was nothing short of a haven at home – the perfect spot to recharge at the end of a long day.

One of the first items our client chose for her bedroom which set the feel was an exquisite mother of pearl inlay chest of drawers originating from Jaipur, India. We were truly on a mission when it came to finding a mirror for her bedroom as the size had to be just right so as not to overpower the natural balance of the room. After many attempts we eventually found a Chinese-inspired mirror with a heavily distressed painted frame featuring a delicate, ornate, textural design. The large Blossom chandelier from Porta Romana with glass detail in decayed silver, constructed from forged steel, beautifully complements her sophisticated taste.
