Vanity details matter. The ribbed top drawer of this vanity adds style and texture. The acrylic and satin nickel pulls add a touch of elegance as well.
A large bath felt crowded and underutilized the space available. By removing a large framed in tub and replacing it with a stunning freestanding tub with a wall mounted tub filler we freed up floor space both physically and visually. Stained wood vanities with beaded top drawers anchor the room.

The million dollar view. Bringing the inside out to this spacious 200 SF patio deck. Second living room and dining room in one. Best to fill up with as many plants as possible. Add a water feature for white noise from the street below and the neighbors above. A little lattice to add more separation to the adjacent neighbors. The trellis above can hold typical canvas or cloth sails. Be sure to ask the HOA for permission before physically attaching anything to the structure.

This image features the newly built stone wall that separates the main house from the guest house, creating a sense of privacy while still allowing visual and physical connection between the spaces. Crafted from a mix of natural stone, the wall adds richness, texture, and a timeless feel to the landscape. In the foreground, the custom concrete patio with wide treads invites you to sit and enjoy the sweeping views of the Sonoma wine country. This space was thoughtfully designed to blend rustic charm with functionality and a strong sense of place. The plantings and other pathways will be placed soon.

This master suite underwent a major transformation and the biggest part of that (literally and physically) was removing the large Jacuzzi tub sitting in the middle of the room. By reorienting the tub along the width of the room, it opened up the center of the space for a large modern double vanity. The shower combined with the tub feature into a nook that was bedecked in a beautiful shell mosaic. The mosaic lined all the interior walls including a built in shelving area, bench, and custom wall.
Easily the most special feature in this space is the resin panels that had been inserted into two partials walls positioned on opposite sides of the room. A mod floral pattern in a subdued lime green compliment the shell tiles and allows light to diffuse into the tub area. The opposite side provides a bit of privacy for the privy, and balances the composition as a whole. The white double vanity with a Carrera marble top and classic chrome fixtures adds a touch of class to the contemporary space. The ceramic wood plank floor tiles in a white washed finish add aesthetic warmth underfoot. Kiwi green walls sit above a staggered white subway tile wainscot that wraps around the perimeter, with a cool gray paint surround the resin panels.

Designed in 1970 for an art collector, the existing referenced 70’s architectural principles. With its cadence of ‘70’s brick masses punctuated by a garage and a 4-foot-deep entrance recess. This recess, however, didn’t convey to the interior, which was occupied by disjointed service spaces. To solve, service spaces are moved and reorganized in open void in the garage. (See plan) This also organized the home: Service & utility on the left, reception central, and communal living spaces on the right.
To maintain clarity of the simple one-story 70’s composition, the second story add is recessive. A flex-studio/extra bedroom and office are designed ensuite creating a slender form and orienting them front to back and setting it back allows the add recede. Curves create a definite departure from the 70s home and by detailing it to "hover like a thought" above the first-floor roof and mentally removable sympathetic add.Existing unrelenting interior walls and a windowless entry, although ideal for fine art was unconducive for the young family of three. Added glass at the front recess welcomes light view and the removal of interior walls not only liberate rooms to communicate with each other but also reinform the cleared central entry space as a hub.
Even though the renovation reinforms its relationship with art, the joy and appreciation of art was not dismissed. A metal sculpture lost in the corner of the south side yard bumps the sculpture at the front entrance to the kitchen terrace over an added pedestal. (See plans) Since the roof couldn’t be railed without compromising the one-story '70s composition, the sculpture garden remains physically inaccessible however mirrors flanking the chimney allow the sculptures to be appreciated in three dimensions. The mirrors also afford privacy from the adjacent Tudor's large master bedroom addition 16-feet away.

The Clients: two passionate chefs. The Commission: to help them design the perfect Kitchen in which to prepare myriad delectable dishes that they love to plan and execute. The Main Requirements: enough storage to accommodate countless spices, cooking equipment and implements; lots of natural light; and a traditionally detailed, but not overdone design.
We nearly doubled the size of the original galley kitchen by pushing out toward the backyard; laid out the appliances so as to maximize efficiency and work surface area; and designed custom built pull-outs for spice jars, and storage for special cookware, small appliances, cutlery and utensils.
The inspiration for the cabinetry design was the Clients’ impeccable selections of appliances and finishes, and their request for tasteful, simple detailing. The focal point, the heart of this Kitchen, is the beautiful porcelain French stove and custom-designed hood cover. Leaded glass panels in the coffered ceiling add charm and hide roof skylights included in the design to maximize natural light. The large island with porcelain farm sink offers the Clients ample work surface as well as informal seating and storage. A desk / hutch cabinet provides a “central control station” for the family’s activities, as well as display for the Clients’ formal dishes and stemware.
Other improvements included a much-needed Walk-In Pantry achieved by enclosing an existing side porch, and enhanced flow between the Kitchen and Family Room. We accomplished this by removing an existing column and beam which previously blocked the physical and visual connection between the two spaces.
We are delighted with the transformation of the original little galley into our Clients’ dream Kitchen … and our Clients are thrilled that their new Kitchen has cut in half their time spent in epic cooking sessions on the weekends!

Bathed in natural light and grounded in soft minimalism, this Glencoe living room offers a harmonious blend of serenity and sophistication. Expansive picture windows frame the landscape and invite the outdoors in, while a sculptural light fixture adds vertical dimension and warmth.
The crisp white palette creates a calm canvas for a tailored sofa and textural rug, while the built-in fireplace adds both visual and physical warmth. A central wood coffee table introduces organic contrast, anchoring the airy room with a modern yet approachable touch.
Crafted by New Explode Construction, this refined living space evokes quiet luxury — thoughtfully designed for both beauty and everyday comfort.

This is a Home Staging Project. Not a full Interior Design Project. The purpose of staging is to showcase a properties physical traits and not detract from them. With staging "less is more". The goal is to add softness and color and a warm environment with out a lot of clutter.
