The conversion of this iconic American barn into a Writer’s Studio was conceived of as a tranquil retreat with natural light and lush views to stimulate inspiration for both husband and wife. Originally used as a garage with two horse stalls, the existing stick framed structure provided a loft with ideal space and orientation for a secluded studio. Signature barn features were maintained and enhanced such as horizontal siding, trim, large barn doors, cupola, roof overhangs, and framing. New features added to compliment the contextual significance and sustainability aspect of the project were reclaimed lumber from a razed barn used as flooring, driftwood retrieved from the shores of the Hudson River used for trim, and distressing / wearing new wood finishes creating an aged look. Along with the efforts for maintaining the historic character of the barn, modern elements were also incorporated into the design to provide a more current ensemble based on its new use. Elements such a light fixtures, window configurations, plumbing fixtures and appliances were all modernized to appropriately represent the present way of life.

USI Remodeling recently completed a luxury master bath design in Colleyville, showcasing how thoughtful planning and craftsmanship can feature function and style. This master design was geared to the creation of a zero entry, doorless and glass free shower enclosure. The transitional master bath style feels indulgent yet completely masks the practical quality of life support systems integrated throughout the suite.
• Dressing room
• Vanity docking drawer
• Jewelry cabinet
• Mirrored recessed medicine cabinet collection
• En-suite laundry
Proudly part of our bathroom remodeling Dallas-Fort Worth portfolio, this project reflects why USI Remodeling bathroom projects consistently balance luxury with livability.

This 16x27 foot room was part of a new construction project. We were able to plan for raised seating prior to the construction of the room creating tiered rows of seating for unobstructed sightlines to the screen.
An Elan automation system was used to control the A/V gear as well as lighting and climate.
Other products used were Marantz, Sonance, Sony, Furman, TiVo and Middle Atlantic.

Referred to inside H&H as “the basement of dreams,” this project transformed a raw, dark, unfinished basement into a bright living space flooded with daylight. Working with architect Sean Barnett of Polymath Studio, Hammer & Hand added several 4’ windows to the perimeter of the basement, a new entrance, and wired the unit for future ADU conversion.
This basement is filled with custom touches reflecting the young family’s project goals. H&H milled custom trim to match the existing home’s trim, making the basement feel original to the historic house. The H&H shop crafted a barn door with an inlaid chalkboard for their toddler to draw on, while the rest of the H&H team designed a custom closet with movable hanging racks to store and dry their camping gear.

The goal of the project was to create a more functional kitchen, but to remodel with an eco-friendly approach. To minimize the waste going into the landfill, all the old cabinetry and appliances were donated, and the kitchen floor was kept intact because it was in great condition. The challenge was to design the kitchen around the existing floor and the natural soapstone the client fell in love with. The clients continued with the sustainable theme throughout the room with the new materials chosen: The back splash tiles are eco-friendly and hand-made in the USA.. The custom range hood was a beautiful addition to the kitchen. We maximized the counter space around the custom sink by extending the integral drain board above the dishwasher to create more prep space. In the adjacent laundry room, we continued the same color scheme to create a custom wall of cabinets to incorporate a hidden laundry shoot, and dog area. We also added storage around the washer and dryer including two different types of hanging for drying purposes.

Indoor Pebble Tec® Tahoe Blue pool constructed by Aquatech Pools GC, Inc.
The design goals of this pool were to incorporate natural materials with unique color, lighting, water and fire in a family setting
geared for entertaining. A pool, spa, swim up bar with accent lighting, an outdoor kitchen, fire pit and 2 fire features were requested by the customer which all had to be fit into a very limited amount of space with restrictive site conditions. The pool is located seaward of the CCL line. Due to elevations of the existing
ground, an elevated stemwall was required to be constructed around the entire pool project. We used travertine on the deck, Pebble Tec® Caribbean Blue, ColorLogic Lights, and 2 fire bowls from Grand Effects.
The fire pit and chairs we formed in place and constructed out of gunite, tile and granite. The spa bar top was a custom piece of granite with under mounted color lighting.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
• (4) Underwater Bar Stools in pool around spa bar top with Pebble Tech Level 1 & Custom Granite Tops to match bar top
• 16” Raised Spa with 3 spillways and a
custom granite, curved bar top with under mounted color lighting
• Swim up bar with accent lighting
• Fire pit and benches we formed in place and
constructed out of gunite, tile and granite
• (2) Fire Bowls from Grand Effects with manually operated lava rock
• 2-Level Travertine Deck in a French Pattern • Solar Panels: (9) 4’ x 12’ Panels with Auto Control
• Tanning Shelf
• Upgraded waterline tile
• 2-Door Cage with Mansard Roof, 7” Super Gutter and Stainless Steel Screws
• (2) Pool area landscape features
• Outdoor kitchen area with custom granite
countertops to match spa and (3) fire pit benches

Think you have to sacrifice sophistication for functionality? Think again. These contemporary maple garage cabinets are the epitome of organization. Each section of the cabinet has a designated purpose. Muddy boots? Power tools? How about hoses and gardening gear? It’s all here. Organized and ready for the next project or the next season, whichever comes first.
