We planned a thoughtful redesign of this beautiful home while retaining many of the existing features. We wanted this house to feel the immediacy of its environment. So we carried the exterior front entry style into the interiors, too, as a way to bring the beautiful outdoors in. In addition, we added patios to all the bedrooms to make them feel much bigger. Luckily for us, our temperate California climate makes it possible for the patios to be used consistently throughout the year.
The original kitchen design did not have exposed beams, but we decided to replicate the motif of the 30" living room beams in the kitchen as well, making it one of our favorite details of the house. To make the kitchen more functional, we added a second island allowing us to separate kitchen tasks. The sink island works as a food prep area, and the bar island is for mail, crafts, and quick snacks.
We designed the primary bedroom as a relaxation sanctuary – something we highly recommend to all parents. It features some of our favorite things: a cognac leather reading chair next to a fireplace, Scottish plaid fabrics, a vegetable dye rug, art from our favorite cities, and goofy portraits of the kids.

BEFORE & AFTER! We started this journey a couple months ago. Angela came up with the idea of using the existing cabinets since they were of excellent quality. So we were left with paint colors, back splash and counter top. She also wanted to replace all of the appliances. Up first, Crystal from Shabby Brown Restore, to look at painting these cabinets in an off-Black-Gloss. Since it didn't have much natural light, I suggested gloss to bounce the light around. The end result is stunning, but not recommended for families with young kids, AKA "messy" fingerprints. Crystal and her husband did an incredible job and I'd recommend them to anyone considering such an endeavor. Next up, Albany Marble, to choose back splash and counter-top, material. Angela fell in love with this gorgeous, natural Quartz and the glass backsplash is super fun. I always use Albany Marble, for all my solid surface and tile needs. Albany Marble is a direct importer, so truly one cannot beat the prices and the welcoming customer service is stellar! The original kitchen didn't have enough cabinets, so we extended the Refrigerator wall, by adding 4 more uppers and lowers. We also had to cut off the Bar counter to even out and enlarge the counter space. As you can see, the end result is over the top! They say it takes a village and here we proved that it indeed takes a solid team! #Anotherbdesigns #allinthedetails #shabbybrownrestore #albanymarbleinc #blackkitchens #kitchenremodel #kitchenfacelift #quartzcountertops #naturalquartz #Glasstile #Shineon #ange

This Livingston, New Jersey homeowner contacted CLC Landscape Design looking for a backyard that would function as a space for their young family to relax and play while also being a space to entertain family and friends.
Luckily for us, their backyard was a blank slate with little more than overgrown grass and some trees occupying the backyard. To meet both of the client's needs, a space that's functional for the family and for entertaining, we designed a backyard with multiple spaces.
First, we designed a deck off the back of the house. The composite deck contains an outdoor gas firepit as well as a built-in outdoor BBQ. As you descend from the deck onto the patio, there is a hot tub near the pool. Techo-Bloc Blu 60 Smooth in shale grey was chosen for the pool patio.
To go along with the architectural aesthetic of the home, we designed a rectangular vinyl-liner swimming pool with a pavilion aligned to the center axis of the pool. The pavilion includes a ceiling fan, ceiling lights, an outdoor television, and a bar. At 20' x 14', the pavilion is spacious enough for multiple chairs, outdoor sofas, and a small table.
To finish off the pool area, we selected a variety of plants to provide multiple seasons of interest. Some clients are indifferent when it comes to the plant palette. Others, like this client, share our passion for plants. As such, we worked closely with the homeowner on selecting the plants.
As you leave the pool area, there is a lawn area behind and next to it. We selected a spot near the pool area for a playset for the homeowner's children. It is close enough to the pool area that the parents can keep an eye on their children, but also far enough away so the adults can relax while their children play.
We'd be remiss if we failed to acknowledge the exquisite taste of the homeowner in selecting all the patio and deck furniture. We love everything the homeowner selected and think it all perfectly compliments our landscape design.

The textural quality and rich tone of Luna Arc Red make it an attention-grabbing feature in both residential and commercial spaces. Approved for indoor wall application, this captivating red tile will add enduring beauty in a modern, cool way. Better yet, its glossy finish will keep your room light-filled—making it a wonderful inspiration for those working with smaller spaces.
Luna Arc Red adds a natural beauty inspired by handcrafted tile. Its high-level color variation and raised arch pattern inject an interesting textural richness into your new bathroom or remodeled kitchen. These subway tiles look especially intriguing covering three walls of an enclosed shower to create a stunning walk-in. Bring the same tile to your vanity wall for a sense of visual movement and cohesion throughout the space.
Introducing color and texture to kitchen design with a Luna Arc Red backsplash offers an impressive transformation. Whether your style is French country, transitional, contemporary, or anything in-between, this ceramic tile is sure to make a lasting impression.
With a few well-placed hits of bold hue, glossy red tiles are enough to enliven the living room. Add color punch with a showstopping accent wall or fireplace surround. Pair with equally vivid hues for an enveloping feel or neutrals for a chic, sophisticated vibe.
These low-maintenance wall tiles are practical for the inevitable messy moments in your kitchen or bathroom. Tile Club recommends using a soft cloth and water to maintain the tile’s shine. Please use a non-sanded grout to install.

We placed this adorable house-shaped wall shelf above the glider to store some of my client’s favorite little trinkets and mementos. A small hook hangs on the wall next to the shelf for a little extra storage. Design by Little Crown Interiors, Photo by Full Spectrum Photography.

Every successful bath project starts with the right design plan and for this teen’s bathroom, creating a stylish space reflecting their personalities was a must.
Safety features, good lighting and proper ventilation improved the usability and enhanced the space for these young adults. We recommended a vent fan that not only removes unwanted moisture but also can stream their favorite music from their smart phones Bluetooth so that the phones can stay safe and dry in a nearby room.
Transitional larger format tile in a neutral grey tone, unique and decorative glass tile and brushed nickel edging around the shower cubby added an element of dimension and style. The decorative tile created a stunning focal-point to the back wall of the shower and complimented the brushed nickel fixtures and tending finishes of the white quartz countertop and grey-blend porcelain plank flooring.

Master bathroom with white subway tile, frameless shower, herringbone tile floors, carrara marble countertop, wall mounted faucet and undermount sink.
