Vintage Cellars / Vintage Wine Cellars just completed this beautiful custom wine cellar duo in a home in Point Loma, San Diego, California. These wine cellars are both for show, one upstairs and the other downstairs. Complete with custom stainless steel doors and windows, these wine rooms provide great views from anywhere in the area.
The upstairs cellar is a more contemporary feature with acrylic bottle holders and metal rods from floor to ceiling. This particular wine racking system is meant to make the bottles appear to be floating upon first glance. This wine cellar / wine room / wine feature in Point Loma, San Diego, also shows backlit paneling / back lighting to really make the cellar shine. With 700 bottles of beautiful wines on display, a cellar like this would look great in any room in your home. Communities like La Jolla, Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Del Mar Highlands, Carmel Valley, Coronado, Solana Beach, Fairbanks Ranch, and more are hotbeds for beautiful custom wine cellars, and we're excited for the opportunity to help our customers with their great wine room projects.
The bottom floor wine cellar features an incredible display case and library of wines, created moreso as a utilitarian cellar, but none the less, still beautiful from in or out. Featuring custom stainless steel framing for windows and doors - the darkened patina coating on the metal looks sleek and acts as the perfect modern accent to this wine cellar / wine room / wine display.
Since 1990, Vintage Cellars has designed and built over 2,000 custom wine cellars in a wide range of styles and applications. Vintage Cellars offers a complete turnkey service (if needed), providing initial wine cellar design options, proper room preparation with vapor barrier and insulation, proper wine cellar cooling unit sizing and installation, wine racking fabrication with custom stain and lacquer options done in house, and final professional installation onsite. With a little bit of love, you can transform your kitchen into a space you love to spend time in! Many people are so used to their surroundings that we don’t realize what a little bit of paint and new finishes can do to change a room. That’s exactly the case of this kitchen. Actually, the cabinetry was already refinished prior to us coming into the picture, our clients couldn’t wait! So, we had the opportunity to incorporate those finishing touches to really seal the deal of this space. Today, this kitchen is up-to-date and classic. It really will stand the test of time! To learn more about this space, continue reading below:
Cabinets
The cabinetry was already refinished prior to us doing our magic. But we love how the crisp and clean finishes of the cabinetry pairs so well with the new finishes and materials we incorporated. To elevate the cabinetry, we embellished the doors and drawers with 5 inch “Emerald” hardware from Top Knobs (TK288BSN).
Countertops
At first glance, you may have noticed we incorporated beautiful marble countertops to this space. So, what if we told you those countertops are not made of marble? Actually, not even close! These countertops are a beautiful 3cm Cambria quartz in the finish “Ironsbridge”. The specs of grey and veining in the countertops might have fooled you! We love the way it looks in this space.
Backsplash
Subway tiles have been around a long time. Still, we love the classic look of subway tile and our clients are always requesting it! A simple way to add interested to subway tile is to utilize tile with beveling, create a contrasting pattern, and add contrasting grout color, as we have done here. Here we have utilized a 3×6 Daltile Rittenhouse Square with beveled edges as the main tile. Then, over the range, we have framed the tile and changed the pattern to herringbone to add some pop!
Fixtures
The fixtures of this space are classically styled as well. From Blanco, we have the main sink in a Precis Super Single Bowl in White paired with an Atura kitchen faucet with pull-down spray in stainless steel. Then on the island, we have a Precis Medium Bowl in White and an Atura Pulldown bar faucet in stainless steel, also from Blanco.

Orange County, CA - Dynamic Garage Doors include multifunctional door configurations not only for regular garages but garages that have been converted to home offices, playrooms, additional bedrooms, multipurpose rooms as well as man caves throughout the Southern California regions.
This custom garage door project consisted of creating a newly renovated garage into a multipurpose room which would double as a home office as well as entertainment space for guests. The original overhead garage door was eliminated to open up the room space and give the interior of this garage a real room feel as opposed to a makeshift room with an obvious garage feel.
Since the converted garage was to be used as an entertainment area as well as an office it became obvious to introduce bi-folding doors or former accordion doors that could be pushed out of the way to expand the indoors to the outdoors and thus expanding the entertainment to the exterior of the structure as well during those summer evening gatherings. The large glass panes allow ample natural light to bathe the interior of the room when being used as an office and can keep the room's climate under controlled when the accordion doors are completely closed. These custom bi-folding doors seal out the weather while allowing the outdoors in with a warm vivid shower of natural light. What a pleasure it must be to have a working office with staggering windows that can double as an entertainment center in the evenings and weekends!
Dynamic Garage Doors aren't just garage doors, they are functional creations that come in unlimited configurations to suit your needs. Whether you're converting your garage to useful, liveable square footage or simply increasing your home's curb appeal with one of our world-class designed garage doors. We've got just the door solution for your garage!

This one covered the whole house, or close to it. A kitchen and the bathrooms all done in Fantasy Brown dolomite with a leathered finish, out near Orangeburg. The photos catch it mid-install with Lowe's floor protection still down, so you can see the tops going in before the space gets dressed up. There's an island, a farmhouse apron sink, some open shelving, and undermount bowls in the baths. It's the kind of job we like, where one stone carries through the whole home and ties everything together.
Fantasy Brown is a dolomite, and that matters. People see the soft browns and grays and the flowing veins and assume it's a marble, but dolomite sits a step harder and holds up better in a working kitchen. The movement in it runs long and watery, brown and taupe drifting through a lighter background. No two slabs are the same, so a big part of the job is laying out the material and deciding which piece goes where. On the island we want the veining to feel like it belongs, and across a corner we do our best to keep the flow moving instead of stopping cold at the seam.
The farmhouse apron sink is where the extra work shows. That kind of sink needs the front edge of the stone cut just right, and the reveal has to be even the whole way across. The undermount bowls in the bathrooms get polished on the inside edge so there's nothing rough to catch on. We template tight, cut to the template, and set the seams where they're least likely to bother you. An eased edge keeps it simple and easy to wipe down, which fits a house that's actually lived in.
Dolomite likes to be sealed and it likes to be wiped up after acidic things like lemon or wine, but treated with a little sense it wears beautifully for years. It takes heat better than a lot of people expect, though we still say use a trivet. In a kitchen and baths that get daily use, it's a stone that looks high-end without being fussy to the point of stress.
Orangeburg's a bit of a drive for us, but we go where the work is, and this was a repeat customer we think a lot of. Running the same dolomite through the kitchen and the bathrooms gave the whole place one voice. That's the payoff on a job like this, one material, careful layout, and a finish that reads the same room to room.

Because they’re protected between glass, Enclosed blinds retain their ‘like new’ look over time and with repeated use. They stay clean and free of damage from kids, pets, and anything else that might come into contact with your doorglass. No dusting, no tangled or dangling cords, and no crimped or dented blinds. The thermally sealed doorglass can be used in doors to meet ENERGY STAR criteria, giving you energy savings and long-term value, too. They reduce heat loss in the winter and solar heat gain in the summer. Our offering includes energy-saving Low-E glass options and impact-resistant, triple-glazed doorglass that safeguards against high winds, offers sound suppression, and reduces heat transmission. With our Light-Touch Blinds, a single-touch control lets you choose the perfect light or privacy level. The ergonomically considered design places the fingertip control within easy reach to tilt, raise, and lower blinds the entire length of the doorglass—with only the slightest movement required. Privacy channels on each side of the doorglass eliminate light gaps when the blinds are closed—no streetlight shadows or sunlight glare. Easy to clean, no dusting required. Light and Privacy Control. Four colors of Enclosed Blinds: Sand, Espresso, Slate Gray, and Silver Moon. With matching privacy channels and operators, the colors of your entry door blinds will always coordinate with your décor.

This Equinox Adjustable Louvered Roof features built-in lighting, fans, gutters, electrical outlets, and even a Bose Sound System. With the touch of a remote control, louvers can be closed for a watertight seal to enjoy your outdoor space in the rain, or open for full or partial sun.

Our design for the expansion and gut renovation of a small 1200 square foot house in a residential neighborhood triples is size, and reworks the living arrangement. The rear addition takes advantage of southern exposure with a "greenhouse" room that provides solar heat gain in winter, shading in summer, and a vast connection to the rear yard.
Architecturally, we used an approach we call "willful practicality." The new soaring ceiling ties together first and second floors in a dramatic volumetric expansion of space, while providing increased ventilation and daylighting from greenhouse to operable windows and skylights at the peak. Exterior pockets of space are created from curved forces pushing in from outside to form cedar clad porch and stoop.
Sustainable design is employed throughout all materials, energy systems and insulation. Masonry exterior walls and concrete floors provide thermal mass for the interior by insulating the exterior. An ERV system facilitates increased air changes and minimizes changes to the interior air temperature. Energy and water saving features and renewable, non-toxic materal selections are important aspects of the house design. Environmental community issues are addressed with a drywell in the side yard to mitigate rain runoff into the town sewer system. The long sloping south facing roof is in anticipation of future solar panels, with the standing seam metal roof providing anchoring opportunities for the panels.
The exterior walls are clad in stucco, cedar, and cement-fiber panels defining different areas of the house. Closed cell spray insulation is applied to exterior walls and roof, giving the house an "air-tight" seal against air infiltration and a high R-value. The ERV system provides the ventilation needed with this tight envelope. The interior comfort level and economizing are the beneficial results of the building methods and systems employed in the house.

Our clients came to as they were about to seal the deal on their new home in Littleton, CO. The order of business was a full kitchen overhaul to create a space that would function for the young familyof four and add value to the home. Much of the home was in need of updating but the clients really wanted to focus their design efforts on the kitchen. They knew they wanted to get it right. The goal was transform the small closed off kitchen into a welcome light filled gathering space. We maximized the natural lighting by eliminating the dropped ceiling looming over the existing kitchen. The lofty ceiling and existing window gift the space a bright and airy feeling. We also opened up a large section of the wall separating the mudroom from the kitchen to provide a view outside and brought more light into the space. The large stainless steel farmhouse sink by Vigo sits under the new wall opening with a great view out the window just beyond. A large five and a half foot by ten foot island is home to a 36” gas range, pots and pan storage, a drawer microwave, vertical tray storage, a pull out pantry, two trash can centers for trash and recycling, and seating for five. We selected a medium gray for the walls (Sherwin-Williams Elephant Ear) to set of the linen white shaker cabinetry. Two large pendants provide over island lighting and add a touch of warmth with the basket weave shades. We transformed what was once a built-in desk area, into a large built-in pantry. A hammered silver pendant over the sink offers task lighting. Cup pulls and knobs from Amerock’s Rochdale collection complete the look.

This is part of a whole home remodel we completed and featured in the Home Builder's Association Showcase of Remodeled Homes.
The old bathroom was cramped and crowded. There was a wall at the end of the vanity with no real purpose. The toilet was next to the bathtub/shower unit.
Our redesign took out that wall and swapped the toilet to the other side. The clients wanted a soaking tub and a stand-alone tiled shower, so we put the shower in where the toilet used to be.
The shower is a tiled in shower, with two large cubbies for shampoos, etc and a diagonal bench seat in the back corner. It is tiled with a matter 3"x6" subway tile. The fixtures are a clean chrome finish. It is closed in by a glass surround expertly done by our friends at Twin Bay Glass.
The tub was replaced with a deep soaking acrylic tub that was surrounded by two walls of matte subway tile and one wall of custom built tigerwood which is a beautiful exotic hardwood that was sealed and varnished to withstand the water. The tub fixtures of course match the shower and are a nice clean finish.
The old ceiling texture was scraped and sanded and painted white. The walls were painted Painter's white. New lighting and a new ceiling fan were installed to update the room and help it function more efficiently.

Starting with a multi-level, splintering old deck that didn’t transition well to the pool area - our goal was to great a more enjoyable and useable space where the homeowners can spend time relaxing & hosting poolside parties. We worked closely with the township to maximize the allowable impervious coverage for the property, which included reconfiguring all the landscaping to allow for more hardscaping. To say this backyard got a facelift is an understatement. Everything got some attention; from staining & sealing the concrete around the pool, tucking away the pool equipment, building an all new porch complete with gorgeous stonework & fireplace. Meeting the needs of the homeowners & surpassing their dreams is one of our favorite things, and with this design – that was exactly the case.

Collaborated on project development from design and permitting to installation in 2014. Over 10 years, we’ve maintained close communication with the owners and their maintenance provider, RP Marzilli to ensure the landscape is kept in top condition. The sloping yard allowed us to create a stunning infinity-edge pool, while the large evergreen plantings provide privacy and edge habitat. New England stone walls and mature tree layers beautifully integrate the house with the surrounding landscape. Angela Kearney, Minglewood, LLC
