This compact space allows for a lot of outdoor living options, without feeling too cramped. The homeowners really wanted a pool and spa, but didn't believe their yard was big enough. This Castle Pines Village infinity edge pool was constructed in 2005. It was designed to capture the sweeping 180 degree foothill views. Bluestone flooring was saw cut to achieve a "grout less" appearance. The pool deck and coping received a "thermal" finish, which penetrates the surface of the flagstone, removing the flaking layer of the stone. With the water flowing from the side of the pool and the raised spa it puts you in that zen like state of mind. Look at the deck and back splash design and it pulls this pool together very nicely.

How does a landscaping contractor finish his own small urban yard? With a small pool and subtle design elements that borrow from the timeless elegance of simplicity. The lot is slightly pie-shaped, so the deck on one side has been cut short with a planting bed that helps to soften the converging lines. Also, the square-cut Wiarton Ebel pebble-top stones have been placed diagonally in the dry-laid deck to create visual balance. The pool's entry steps are placed appropriately at a 45-degree angle and the lounge furniture is aligned with the flagstones of the deck. Simple lines never looked so good. (14 x 28, rectangular)

This beach side pool has an Infinity or Rimless Edge. The inside coping stone is a Black Absolute Granite with a honed finish, the outside coping is a NYS Gray Green Select Bluestone with a thermal finish. The pool is completed with a Forest Gray Slate tile band and Black Galaxy Pebblefina.

Located in the private Cypress Point neighborhood in Plano, this small backyard was transformed from a small garden area to an updated and modern outdoor living area. In addition to the new covered porch and fire place, we have added outdoor seating for chaise lounges, along with a modern plunge pool & spa with raised backdrop fountain feature. The project also features built-in seating, fountain spillways, decorative pool tile, step stones and all new landscaping to provide a lush, private retreat for the owners.

Perfect for exercise or entertaining, this compact plunge pool tucks neatly behind the house in this urban Toronto yard. Underwater benches flanking the walk-in steps invite lounging, while a sheer descent waterfall adds drama to the raised ledgerock feature wall. Directly below is a powerful Badu Jet for lap swimming. The owners also use it for paddle practice in a kayak. The natural pond-look of the dark grey Armourcoat interior offers a pleasing contrast to the Wiarton flagstone coping and deck. The simple clean lines of the design give the whole backyard a feeling of elegance, while the four concrete pillars clad in Wiarton ledgerock complete the classic look. The underwater bench in the notch beside the steps creates a refreshing in-pool conversation corner.

The 11’ x 23’ dry Gunite pool’s dark grey Armourcoat interior contrasts beautifully with the deck of Wiarton flagstone set on concrete. Across the deep end a series of flagstone slabs are separated by strips of ground cover to help the runoff water the shrubs. The entire backyard is essentially low maintenance.
