We were referred to Cascade after having difficulty coming up with a cohesive design for our limited, and somewhat unusual, outdoor space. We knew that taking advantage of every square inch of usable space was going to be essential - but it was impossible for us to visualize the space as a "blank slate." We were caught up with the existing location of things like fences, storage and parking - but Leah and Mike heard what we were saying, and after taking their time and really considering our options, they suggested relocating our driveway and the grill area - which allowed us to have more space to play and use our backyard in ways we did not expect we could! Hiring Cascade to help us come up with our outdoor design was one of the best decisions we've made as homeowners. If we had tried to tackle this project without help (or with anyone but Leah and Mike, in my opinion), we would have ended up with an inconsistent and disjointed design, with a much smaller usable outdoor space! There is not enough space to list all the (positive) things I would like to say about Mike and Leah, but I can say with certainty that I won't do another outdoor project without reaching out to them first - and I'll refer them to anyone who will listen!

We now have an amazing outdoor living space that is better than we imagined thanks to Cascade Outdoor Design. The best part of working with Cascade was that they handled everything from design through the installation process. We choose to have Cascade supervise our project and honestly, we wouldn’t do it any other way as it was seamless and fit our busy schedules. Mike was on-site daily keeping the project moving and us up-to-date on the progress. Our yard looks exactly like the drawings Cascade Outdoor Design created and we could not be happier with the results. Cascade is a great company to work with and we recommend them highly.

We wanted to add a pool & remodel our St Augustine vacation home. Me being a remodeling contractor from NY quickly sketched some plans and just wasn’t satisfied with “my ideas”. My wife found Cascade Outdoor Design and after a short interview, we hired them.
We met with Leah & Mike, I showed them my sketches to give them an idea of what we were looking for and implored them not to default to my ideas....they added their special touches.
They absolutely crushed it on their 1st presentation. Leah developed the most beautiful computer renderings capturing all the coloring & design features. We were able to tweak the designs on our 1st meeting by substituting different colors & moving, changing and adding elements on the fly with immediate viewing of the updated renderings. Mike, the Cascade construction specialist jumped in with technical answers which helped tremendously in polishing up the final details.
Though we didn’t use Cascade for the build we had such a great design experience we give them our highest recommendation, they were a pleasure to work with.

i worked with Cascade to design my backyard since a specific site plan was needed to submit to the city for approval. I was completely surprised by how well they listened to what I wanted and put it onto paper. It was simply beautiful and exactly what I was envisioning. Next will be for my contractor to implement, but I know they will be there to answer any questions or provide any needes direction. Thank you for a wondeful experience...I have already recommended you to many people.

We liked Leah and Mike from the very first meeting! They were comfortable to talk with and fun! From there our experience only got better with their amazing design for our backyard that included everything we asked for and even some things we didn’t know we wanted. The project —like all—had some glitches but they were taken care of by the Cascade team. They added Erika Miller just as our project was getting underway and she was great as well! I was actually sad to see them go once the project was complete!!

This team was fantastic to work with. They really listened to everything that I was hoping to put into the backyard and created a design that incorporated every element we discussed. Prior to working with them, I had met with pool companies who were solely focused on the design of the pool itself and were not paying attention to the details that pull the entire space together. Investing in a comprehensive design was the best decision I made on this project.

My wife and I had the ultimate pleasure in dealing with Mike and Leah from cascade! To say they went above and beyond is an understatement. Time and time again they exceeded our expectations both in terms of completing multiple revisions to the plan and in managing the various subs on our project. Leah’s technical proficiency and great taste resulted in plans that were dynamic and cost effective. Mike’s building expertise and great relationships led to us having access to the best subs. He was able to head off problems before they arose and ultimately made sure we got a fantastic finished product at less cost than we expected. I would give them our highest recommendation and look forward to using them again. They are now like family to us!

I discovered Cascade Outdoor Design on Houzz and we chose Cascade Outdoor Design for our entire yard redesign after hearing rave reviews from one of their former clients. Mike and Leah were wonderful to work with and I give them my highest recommendation. They were professional and detail oriented. They listened to our ideas and concerns and provided excellent advice and guidance. After our initial consultation, I was impressed with how Mike and Leah were able to take our ideas and wish list and turn it into a beautiful design that was exactly what I was looking for. They incorporated nearly every item on our list, including a pool and cabana. They designed a plan for the entire yard that can be done in stages, but will look seamless. We had some challenges with lot size and lot coverage (being at the beach) as well as challenges from city restrictions. Mike and Leah came up with a creative design that allowed us to get the items most important to us and they were flexible throughout the whole process. I cannot say enough positive things about the management services by Cascade Outdoor Design. Having Cascade Outdoor design manage the project made the process as stress free as possible. Mike was detail oriented, on site frequently, and stayed in close communication with my husband and I. Even after the completion of the project, Mike has promptly handled any issues that have arisen for us.

Mike and Leah took our few comments about what we liked in our backyard and the functionality we were looking for and came up with a plan that we both absolutely loved!

Mike and Leah are artist. They are budget bulldogs. They are magicians.
I cannot recommend this company in stronger terms. I had a loose vision of what I wanted with my wife. They navigated so that we both got exactly what we wanted in the end. The design phase was detailed, and comprehensive. We went back and forth with themes and over aching goals along with nit picking details. These guys always had a smile, and were eager to weigh pros and cons. Because of this, I will be able to slowly create the backyard of our dreams in stages. By knowing the end product first we can prioritize a summer kitchen over a pergola and plan for that project next year. My goodness, I cannot say enough amazing accolades for Cascade Outdoor Design. We live in a historic home in Riverside, and our back and side yards had not been touched in years. It was a complete gut job. Mike and Leah came up with a gorgeous new design for the entire area, worked closely with us on our wish list and subsequent changes to the designs, and were just really fun to work with. The work was performed quickly and beautifully and Mike was at the house and in touch with my husband and I frequently on the progress. We couldn't be happier with our new outdoor living area, and the response to the results on facebook and in person by our friends and family has been really fun to see. We hired Leah and Mike to do a complete renovation of our yard, which included landscape, hardscape, and lighting design and installation. They transformed our long-neglected lot into a beautiful, comfortable place to relax year-round.
They had to manage three obstacles. First, we're on a corner lot and our HOA requires a perimeter roughly 13' deep on the sides adjacent to the street. The space is small to begin with, and we needed every inch. Cascade Outdoor managed to create a layout that worked for us AND the HOA, Second, we don't get much sun. They were able to choose plants that thrive in the various exposures around our property so we'll have year-round color. And third, when a survey revealed a fence was encroaching over our property line, they managed the situation gracefully while sticking to the schedule.
Here's what Cascade Outdoor did for us: replaced existing St. Augustine grass with zoysia; installed new in-ground irrigation; provided accent lighting for house and grounds; removed failing trees, bushes and undergrowth; created a paved outdoor eating area; paved our driveway and front walk; covered the screened porch so we can use it rain or shine; and installed hundreds of plants--groundcover, bushes, flowering plants, accent plants and trees..
We're delighted with the result. Now we have outdoor living space that really works for us and looks terrific. Thanks, Cascade Outdoor!

Mike and Leah at Cascade Design were great to work with! Our design meetings were so fun and stress-free. We could not love our patio and pool more. We had a very small space to work with, but we ended up with a fabulous spool and patio. Cascade did an excellent job extending the design concept created by our architects to the outdoor space. From the materials used to capturing a modern yet inviting feeling. Our design is very usable for us and our dog. We also entertain a lot, and the space provided from planters, turf and hardscape provided for easy enjoyment for up to 200 people. Along with an outstanding design, they also made sure it was implemented as conceived, so the finished product looked as we expected and was completed within the budget we specified.

From the interview to design our project, Leah and Mike listened to our wish list, made suggestions, and then presented a beautiful plan - more than we dreamed was possible. Having them manage the project was a breeze - not dealing with scheduling & contractors. We requested a challenging timeline and they met it easily. We hired Cascade design to completely renovate our backyard/pool. The project included everything from them designer an amazing space but handling every detail from beginning to end. We even left the country for several weeks and never worried that things would handled. Our space required complete demolition of existing patio surface, all new drainage from backyard as this was a huge problem, major new bricked garden beds and gorgeous fireplace, pool resurfacing and tiling, landscaping and summer kitchen. In addition , they designed a brick extension storage space for yard tools etc, and coordinated redoing of driveway. We also added beautiful lighting. I give them a 12 out of 10!!!!!!

After a couple of bad experiences, I finally came across Cascade. They were prompt, professional and fair. They are creative, but are also willing to listen to what you want - as opposed to many others that want to design what they want. I would strongly recommend Cascade if you are considering an outside project in Jacksonville.

Mike and Leah at Cascade Outdoor Design created a beautiful, and detailed landscape plan for us. They took the time to really understand how we wanted to spend our time outdoors, and then designed the space around our lifestyle. They thoughtfully re-purposed the hundreds of 50+ year old bricks that we had into really cool walkways. Each type of bush was selected and deliberately placed for aesthetic value, and ease of maintenance. The final design included a blueprint of every single dimension, every species of plant, and an estimated quantity of every type of material; such as the metal edging, how much gravel, how much mulch, and so much more. They will also provide you about 20 full-color renderings of how every angle of the design will look. We are extremely happy with the results, and the value of their design services,

I can't begin to say how wonderful Cascade Outdoor Design is! We have done 2 projects with them, about 2 years apart. Mike and Leah listened to what we wanted to have - pet and child friendly yard, native plants, and kept to our budget. When changes had to be made, there was a through discussion to make sure we were comfortable. Cascade has very high standards when it comes to their sub-contractors. All the sub-contractors were very professional. We have gotten quite a few compliments on our front yard. We would most definitely use them again.

We very much enjoyed our time working together with Cascade and our client on a modern residence that is almost finished in Atlantic Beach. We knew that they had a firm grasp and knowledge of modern landscape design, but their ability to understand what we wanted the landscape to be for the home and the speed to which they were able to put together the concept and design was outstanding. Leah and Michael instantly became an integral part of the team and we're certainly looking forward to working with them again soon.

Once we decided to commit to a redo of our home's courtyard we began to look for help in making our ideas come to fruition. Houzz "Find a Pro" feature was a great tool and helped us connect with Cascade Outdoor Design, a firm in nearby Jacksonville.
Our initial visit with Cascade's owners, Leah and Mike, was great. We explained our ideas and vision for the space. We were encouraged with their listening skills, low key suggestions, and questions they asked that helped us solidify in our minds what we were looking for. We engaged their services that day and this was the beginning of a very comfortable working relationship.
Once we saw the 3D rendering of our courtyard we knew we had made the right decision. Rather than trying to imagine what the finished product might look like, we were able to see the courtyard from all angles including from inside the house looking out at the courtyard and an a birds-eye-view. Their renderings really helped us solidify our final version. All changes we suggested were quickly included in the renderings which was an easy way to see if we liked the change or not. What a wonderful tool!
Leah and Mike are easy to work with, very competent, full of good ideas, and so friendly that you feel that you're dealing with good friends with special knowledge.

As someone who works in a creative field, I understand how hard it is to match designs to a client's internal vision. Cascade Outdoor Design exceeded our expectations by taking our vague ideas and turning them into a perfect plan that hit all of our requirements. Our project began with a dream. It was a huge undertaking with a 700 sq ft pool, outdoor kitchen including pizza oven and an Argentine grill. We included a half-bath next to the kitchen area with an extra shower nozzle for rinsing before entering the pool. The entire area was enclosed with a screened enclosure.
Mike and Leah from Outdoor Cascade brought our dream to life by first working with us to create a 3D design using their in house software capabilities. The design phase of the project allowed us to look at alternative concepts and really visualize our dream.
The 3D design became the basis for the official architectural drawings.
I am glad we also retained Cascade Outdoors to manage the project.. Mike and Leah helped by providing multiple potential subcontractors and managed a bid process to select each of the various subcontractors.
In addition, Mike/Leah helped us manage the inevitable changes that occur during the construction phase. All but one of the subcontractors performed excellent work relatively on budget and schedule. The single subcontractor that caused issues was managed very effectively through Mike. This unfortunate situation was bearable especially with Mike as the go-between.
The final inspection by the Home Owners Association was summarized with a single comment: "This looks almost identical to the original conceptual drawings". The reality is Mike and Leah helped us fulfill our dream. We now have the outdoor area our family always dreamed of.

In stepped Leah Zimmer of Cascade Outdoor Design to help me with a plan. The results... Gorgeous curb appeal! From design, to choosing plants, to delivery coordination, Leah was with me every step of the way!

We engaged Cascade to redesign our property literally from the curbside to the back fence, and were incredibly pleased with their knowledge, professionalism, responsiveness and customer service orientation. Throughout the project, Mike and Leah demonstrated their gifts for listening intently to clients needs, coming up with creative solutions, and bringing a depth and breadth of knowledge about local conditions and which species of plants would thrive in each area. We used them for both the design and execution phases of our project, and they met and exceeded all of our expectations. Their design ideas were fabulous, they recommended and engaged top-notch suppliers, managed them, our budget and our timeframe closely, returned every phone call promptly, and handled every bump in the road with expertise and integrity. After a year of working together, they have never missed a single opportunity to delight us. We give them the highest possible recommendation, and look forward to working with them again.

Cascade Outdoor Design has been more than just an outdoor living space design and management company. They have taken our vision of an outdoor space, and made it a reality! Their creativity is only one aspect of their business that made our experience so enjoyable. Their customer service CANNOT be beat! Time after time, they go above and beyond our requests, and deliver them quickly. If we needed anything handled or addressed, we could consider it done. Even as we approach our year from completion date, Mike and Leah continue to follow up and make sure everything is perfect. I wouldn't hesitate saying that they are the BEST in the industry and truly want what is best for their clients. I would not hesitate saying that your search for an Outdoor Design company should stop with Cascade, you will not be disappointed!!!!

Leah and Mike, owners of Cascade Outdoor Design designed the perfect summer kitchen and outdoor fireplace for our backyard. We had wasted space that is now a functional and inviting space. Our living space has greatly increased. They are creative, professional, and use the latest computer programs to present their proposal and bring your vision to life. I would use them again!

Cascade Outdoor Design came to our residence via our request for a backyard patio project. The representatives arrived on time, listened to our ideas and concerns, and took detailed notes. Within a very short but reasonable time, we were contacted by Cascade to review the 3D colorful graphic design they had created. It did not take us long to realize this was definitely the project for us, we loved the very first design presented. Cascade arranged for us to meet 3 different vendors for each phase of the project, and once that was complete, it was time to get started. Overall, the project took approximately 3 months. We still call some of the vendors today if we need additional work for other projects, (a custom mailbox for example). WE absolutely love our patio oasis and would highly recommend Cascade Outdoor Design to anyone who inquires.

Cascade Design did a remarkable job transforming my beach house backyard into tranquil, useable space that we can enjoy and entertain in. From grass and two palm trees to birds of paradise, a sylvester palm tree, modern bamboo, a fountain, seating, tile flooring and artificial grass to a modern trellis suspended from the third floor, the yard is the envy of neighbors and friends. Trusting the biggest suggestion from Cascade, we relocated and enclosed two A/C units to the side of the house (out of sight from the backyard), which really made a huge difference. I would recommend Cascade to anyone who wants a unique outdoor living area.

We were looking to build a pool, spa, and fire pit in our backyard, but were facing some challenges - a relatively small space with a significant slope to it. We talked to several pool builders who gave us their ideas but none of them had the capability of doing 3D renderings, so it was very difficult to visualize the project especially with the elevation "issues". Then we had the good fortune of finding Cascade Outdoor Design. They came up with an overall design that we loved and provided 3D renderings which took all the guess work out of visualizing of the project. Once we tweaked the design, we chose to contract with Cascade to oversee the project. Mike and Leah were a delight to work with and saw to it that the job was finished on time and within our budget. We now have the backyard of our dreams and feel like we literally couldn't have done it without them.
