Lagoon-side property in the Bel Marin Keys, Novato, CA. Entertaining and enjoying the views were a primary design goal for this project. The project includes a large camaru deck with built-in seating. The concrete steps and pavers lead down to the water's edge. I included a sunken patio on one side and a beautiful Buddha statue on the other, surrounded by succulents and other low-water, contemporary plantings. I also used Dymondia ground cover to create a natural pathways within the garden. This project was just completed. More photos will be included in Spring when the plantings fill in. Clients' first home and there forever home with a family of four and in laws close, this home needed to be able to grow with the family. This most recent growth included a few home additions including the kids bathrooms (on suite) added on to the East end, the two original bathrooms were converted into one larger hall bath, the kitchen wall was blown out, entrying into a complete 22'x22' great room addition with a mudroom and half bath leading to the garage and the final addition a third car garage. This space is transitional and classic to last the test of time.

The two sided fireplace is above the bathtub in the bathroom and at the foot of the bed in the bedroom. The wall is tiled on both sides and the archway into the bathroom is tiled also.

The arbor over the swing is intended to shade the sitting area in this hot yard as the sun comes from the left side of the swing. Evergreen Pandorea vines eventually grew over the top. The style mimicked that of the already existing pergola on the deck. The swing gives the family a resting place to watch people practicing on the putting green.

All of the cuts in the tile were deliberate. Notice the equal reveal on either side of the soap niche. A rectangular soap niche is not only modern and unique, but also has a much higher storage capacity than the traditional small square recess. The pony wall provides separation and privacy and also is able to support the long floating bench across the back wall.

Single height counter top w/ dining room side SubZero Wine Cooler and liquor cabinets combined with buffet space and eating bar. Counter top height chairs. Post had to remain, requiring design around the post. Hood roof/ducting utilizing existing system required the new Range Top to be precisely located to align with hood and gas pipe coming up through the concrete floor. Custom Kitchen and Island. Optimized storage, using drawers in base cabinets as opposed to roll-out trays. Custom panels for Sub Zero Refrigerator. The flip-up door above refrigerator for storage of larger trays. Other trays are located in tray drawer to the right of the range. Additional storage located on the opposite side of the peninsula. Custom designed, manufactured and installed range hood trim.

Open Plan Dining was updated and made to feel more intimate with the addition of Cove Moldings, Wall Paper and Casually Elegant printed linen Drapery. The Clients furniture was repurposed from their previous home. The Family Room, at the side of the Dining Room is casually arranged and has built-in storage for lots of toys and books for the Grandkids. The Kitchen has Luxury Appliances, ample storage with tall Pantry Cabinets and extra Island Storage. There is welcoming Casual Dining looking out onto the Shaded Gardens. Wonderful flow between the Kitchen, Casual Dining and Family Room allows for easy extended Family Gatherings.
