Follow along as the Pontz boys start building a disappearing waterfall of EPIC proportions from a drab old feature. This project included removal of existing pondless waterfall, setting the rocks aside, removing the liner and plumbing and install all new mechanical components, liner, underlayment and rebuild the feature in a similar design that existed. The stream bed was excavated deeper to retain the water and prevent leaks. Various larger boulders were used to help retain the feature and prevent long-term movement. The bottom basin was constructed using aquablox instead of rock to allow for more water storage. The existing landscape lights were reinstalled and the feature was freshly mulched for a neat, finished appearance.

Victorian black and white tiles in the hallway of a house in Wanstead (E11), laid in what is often referred to as the York Pattern with a Kingsley Border, however sadly neglected for many years after being covered with a heavy underlay and carpet. First we cleaned the tiles with a dilution of Tile Doctor Pro-clean which releases the dirt stuck in the pores of the tiles; the solution was scrubbed into the floor with a buffer machine fitted with a black scrubbing pad and then the released soil extracted with a wet vacuum. The floor was then rinsed with water and extracted again with the wet vacuum. It was left to dry for thirty minutes and the floor inspected which revealed a few stubborn areas that were then treated using Nano-Tech Heavy Build-up remover (HBU) which was left to dwell for forty minutes and then scrubbed and then extracted again with water. To Slow down or stop the possibility of an issue we sometimes have with older floors such as Victorian Tiles we often use a product developed by Tile Doctor called Acid Gel, this is left on the surface for 5 minutes and then removed with light agitation and water and a wet vac machine, the floor is then rinsed with water again just to make sure there is no Acid Gel left in the Tile or on the surface. The Acid Gel not only Keeps mineral salts (efflorescence) at bay but also helps as a bonding agent for the sealer to make sealing theses type of tiles a lot easier. After leaving the floor to dry overnight I came back the next day to seal the floor using four coats of Tile Doctor Seal and Go which is ideal for Victorian tiled floors as it leaves a low sheen finish whilst providing excellent stain protection. This elegant tile shower is not just lovely, it is very well built. Sometimes what you can't see turns out to be very important! We used the Schluter System components to build up the alcove and base in preparation for the lovely Travertine-style porcelain tile our customer selected. This preparation included Schluter System niches and Schluter System Kerdi underlayment. We have received training from Schluter for the installment of their systems. Also visible in this photo is the clean, understated Schluter trim around the tile. We matched that to the oil rubbed bronze fixtures for a very complete look.

This Reston Virginia Condo remodel required us to bring every room up to date. We provided the new wood plank laminate flooring with a cork underlayment for maximum comfort and sound absorption. The client requested that we turn the second bedroom into an office space. We lined the wall with semi-custom cabinetry, a new ceiling fan and a built out custom closet to store books and office supplies. The adjacent bathroom shower walls and floors are lined with polished marble floor tile and new chrome plumbing fixtures. The new grey vanity and quartz counters compliment the new grey zigzag accent marble tile. The master bedroom received a full overhaul as well including a custom velvet headboard lined with espresso wood, new nightstands and dresser, 2 new pendant lamps in front of the new espresso wall mirrors. We were sure to incorporate new LED lighting throughout the condo including smart home enabled Wi-Fi controlled lighting.
