Equine Facility Design is a professional architecture firm specializing in planning, design, and project management for sites and structures used by the residential and horse community, and beyond.
Matt is very good at listening to and understanding his client’s needs. He took my floor plans, made some very impactful enhancements and created a massing model that now is our building! We LOVE it, and so do the many people who visit (it’s so multi-functional we can have residents, our own animals, boarders and Airbnb guests). http://fb.me/RedFarmilyBarn

Giulietti Schouten Weber ArchitectsArchitects, Architectural DesignTypical Job Cost: $100,000 - 10 million
Giulietti Schouten Weber Architects is a Portland-based architecture firm designing unique, client-driven projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and nationally. Founded by Dave Giulietti, AIA in 1987, and joined by partners Tim Schouten in 1993, and Jake Weber in 2013, the firm builds on their 30+ years of experience creating places for people that value the significance of design. Having completed hundreds of residential and light-commercial buildings, the foundation of our success comes from listening to our clients and their goals in order to create beautiful and functional architecture that makes a difference in their lives. Managing a small firm has allowed the principals to maintain close relationships with team members and all design aspects of each project. We look to expand the design horizons of our clients and create unique spaces for their specific needs. We believe that the success of each project is highly dependent on a strong communication between the architect and client. While being best known for our residential and specialized housing projects, we continue to be called upon to design a variety of building types including theaters, schools, religious and church facilities, restaurants, retail, and offices.
We purchased our dream property a few years ago, and knew that we we wanted to work with a thoughtful architect when the time came to design our home. We were impressed with the homes Giulietti Schouten designed near our ours - they seemed to be uniquely crafted for their owners and took full advantage of their locations. Based on this we reached out to Tim and Dave. They carefully listened to what we thought we wanted, then took us on a creative journey through potential designs that ended with a style of home we never considered but is the perfect fit for us and our property. It has a sense of lightness and flow that doesn't just happen - it is the result of experience, creativity and vision. Tim has been our primary architect and is fantastic to work with - he went above and beyond to create a beautiful yet functional design and remains fully supportive during construction. We are very happy with GSA's work and grateful for their partnership on our home - thank you GSA!

Christie Architecture LLCArchitects, Architectural DesignBased in Portland, Oregon, Christie Architecture is a small architecture studio working on custom residential and small commercial projects in the Pacific Northwest. Adam & Lisa Christie are both licensed architects, each bringing twenty plus years of experience and a fundamental interest in thoughtfully designed spaces to each project. They transform existing houses to maintain charm and character while meeting modern lifestyle needs and expectations. They bring dream homes to life from initial concepts and follow them through construction. Christie Architecture is licensed in Oregon, Washington and California. .
We feel so lucky to have come across Lisa, who drew up the plans for a major renovation of the finished attic of our 100-year-old house (including a bathroom addition). She was so knowledgeable and patient with us, and we appreciated her walking us through the possibilities and process. Lisa's firm is also part of Portland's expedited permitting (FIR) program, so she was able to get an inspector out to our home within days to ensure our shallow, short stairs could be grandfathered in, no exterior work required. She then connected us with the contractor she works with, who was excellent. We look forward to working with her again!

Phil Chek and Associates have been our “go to” since we bought our home here in Lake Oswego 2018. He was referred by our Real Estate Agent. From the beginning he and his team were responsive, creative, “problem solving”, and truthful about our realities. Always supportive. After a few months of working together on various updates for our new home, our refrigerator “sprung a leak”, turns out the ice-maker had been slowly leaking, probably for weeks, and had done permanent damage to our hardwood flooring for over half our kitchen. We called Phil Chek, almost crying that day, with towels all over floors, total panic. We had not been able to reach a plumber. Phil picked up his phone and said he would “call people”. Those people showed up that afternoon and more people came, all the appropriate sub-contractors, to rescue us from our flooded kitchen. Not only did it end up looking as good or better - he was with us during the challenges of finding replacement flooring, the creative challenges of how to match, make it all work again - with several contractors involved. Problem solving and expertise at its best. This translates with the “simpler” things, like choosing countertops, when to stop spending money, when to spend more, what looks great - what doesn’t. His personal skills and vast array of people to call, along with his loyal team make him an excellent choice as your point person on any project. I love his aesthetic, and his work ethic, his dedication to the people who are his clients. He was family that day he showed up during our “flood”.

We are a full service residential design firm with offices in both Portland OR and the SF Bay Area - specializing in new homes, renovations, additions, landscape design, green energy and environmental strategies, lighting design, furniture design, and more...
Andrew swooped in and saved what had been a years-long, incredibly frustrating project. He guided us through a complicated process and we came out the other side with a house we're so excited to build. Andrew provided excellent guidance while supporting what we wanted - I felt so comfortable asking for his opinion on decisions that were ultimately in our court without being concerned his own biases and preferences would overshadow my desires. I highly recommend working with Andrew - you'll get the house of your dreams!

Therese DuBravacDesign-Build Firms, ArchitectsI bring 20 years of design/build/remodeling experience to your project. I have won numerous design awards as well as been published regionally and nationally. My team utilizes the design/build process for comprehensive remodeling of kitchen and baths, whole house remodels, additions, ADU’s & custom homes. Our full service approach sets us apart from other remodeling contractors. We work with you from start to finish. From dream to reality! I have a degree in Interior Architecture from the University of Oregon. My designs ascetic & solutions respond directly to my clients homes, priorities, budget and dreams. I try and make the process enjoyable and collaborative. My goal is to get the best design solutions possible so your home is a place you love to spend time in. Together, we consider your lifestyle, goals/priorities, design ascetic and budget to create a home you love today & for years to come.
Therese was the designer on a kitchen and basement remodel for us last year. This was a big job and she was an absolute Rock of Gibraltar, force of nature, miracle worker -- all of those. Therese very rapidly understands your functional priorities for the space and your aesthetics and puts them into practice as she brings to life a vision that is better even, in our case, than what we could have dared imagine. The design process with Therese is as collaborative as you want it to be. If you would rather she just make a decision about something, she'll readily do that. But she won't take decisions away from you that you want to make. Therese functions as much more than a designer. She has a tremendous sense of responsibility, engagement and investment in the entirety of project, and she stands with you through thick and thin. She's a delight and a total pro. My wife and I would work with her and Neil Kelly again in a heartbeat, and would highly recommend Therese and NK to anyone, based on our experience. They're definitely not the cheapest of course, but you very much get the sense that you are getting what you paid for. Truly exceptional.

Steelhead ArchitectureArchitects, Architectural DesignTypical Job Cost: $200,000 - 3 million
Steelhead Architecture is a design office focused on commercial and residential architecture plus urban design and planning. Started by Gabriel Headrick, AIA in 2010 after 15 years of work in both Portland and San Francisco, our project types include both commercial and residential construction. Commercial specialties include breweries and pubs as well as adaptive re-use of existing buildings. Residential specialties include new construction and remodels particularly in a modern or mid-century modern style. Activism and volunteering for our community are important aspects of Steelhead Architecture. Gabe has acted as both president and land use chair of the Reed Neighborhood Association. He has also been selected for the City of Portland Policy Expert Group (PEG) for residential development which advises the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability on development policies. Additional organizations we participate in include the Oregon Brewers Guild and the Beverage Industry Networking Group (BING).
I have known and worked with Gabe since 2014, first we hired him to remodel our old house and then to build our dream house in NW Portland. Prior to hiring Gabe, I had interviewed number of leading architects in town but ultimately, we hired Gabe to design a modern yet very functional home for us. Gabe always listened patiently to our every requirement and provided number of viable options for us to consider. We were impressed by his creativity, design and attention to details. He helped us with all major project milestones starting with permits, civil engineering, contractor selection and actual construction. Basically, he was our confidant throughout the project and we did not make any major decision without his input. We are truly thankful to Gabe and his team for their contribution in turning our dream in to reality. We appreciate his creativity, customer orientation and professional work ethics throughout our engagement with him. I have already recommended Gabe to our friends and will not hesitate to use his service again.

Propel Studio ArchitectureArchitects, Architectural DesignTypical Job Cost: $300,000 - 10 million
As designers we listen closely to you and work together to deliver inspiring spaces that respond specifically to your lifestyle, the context of your property, and what makes you and your family feel at home. We understand that each client is unique and has specific wants and needs for their home and deserves a design that responds to their lifestyle. We bring years of experience as we work with you to find the right solution to your design challenge. We begin the design process by listening and learning from our clients - understanding your goals, your budget, your lifestyle - and then working together to develop a list of required spaces for the new residence. This client centered approach has lead to great success with custom home projects to date, leading to great architecture that responds to context, addresses sustainability, and satisfies the client's needs. Our Custom Home design specialties include: > Modern and Contemporary Styles > Luxury Amenities > Inspiring Interiors > Strong Connection between the Architecture and Surrounding Landscape > High Performance Sustainable Design Strategies > Designing for Aging-in-place, ADA Accessibility, and Barrier Free Design > Healthy Indoor Environments As we embark on a journey of discovery with our clients, we challenge preconceived ideas, and offer a range of concepts for the new house. Together we discuss these options and iterate as we mold the design to respond to your taste and how you envision living in the new home. This process includes many discussions as we get to know you and craft a project that is architecturally inspiring, blending beauty and function. It is also important to note that although we are proudly based in Portland, Oregon we have undertaken projects across the United States and abroad. If you are looking for a new primary residence, a wonderful vacation property, or second home to retire in, we would love to work with you.
We are so glad that we worked with Propel Studios through the design and construction process of our new home. They were ever-helpful as we worked together through final land-use and permitting processes, and worked well with iBuildPdx to ensure the design meshed with practical construction considerations. Despite a daunting list of design constraints due to the rural, forestland property codes, Propel created an incredible place to live that is just as comfortably "at home" in its environment as our family is in the house.

It manages the entire process from the initial design through construction completion, designing and specifying every inch of the project to meet your needs and budget goals. If you have a design idea for your ideal home, we will work with you hand in hand to make it a reality. - SORA design https://www.sora-design.info
Sora was an outstanding choice for our home remodel project. From the design through the final details on the remodel, we found them to be professional, flexible, and detail-oriented. They created a design that modernized our nearly 100-year-old home while respecting the original footprint. This was not an easy process due to permitting delays and working through structural limitations in some areas, but the outcome was beyond our expectations. I appreciated the taste level and quality of their work and recommendations, and found a good compromise when we could not align on design or due to budget concerns. Sora also worked very well with our contractor (Expert Touch Construction) to ensure that the project was executed as designed and oversaw the process. I would highly recommend SORA for any project, small or large, and would gladly work with them in the future.

zenbox is a multi-disciplinary design studio specializing in small spaces. We have a special interest in Portland ADUs (accessory dwelling units) and custom small home design. The studio’s blend of space design, landscape architecture, interior design, product development, and in-house fabrication offers clients a unique design experience. zenbox has been involved in a range of projects including Portland ADUs, remodels, art installations, residential landscapes and restaurant/retail designs. Grounded in a balance between classic design principles and a modern industrial aesthetic, zenbox’s work is intended for those who appreciate craftsmanship and elegant simplicity. Whether designing a custom bar or shaping the spaces that will make up a home, zenbox works extensively in 3D so that clients can fully visualize and interact with the end product before starting their project.
Bryan worked with us to design our ADU and it turned out beautiful! He was very easy to work with, was responsive in his communication, and did a fantastic job of listening to and incorporating our wishes into the design. The ADU was a detached structure, approximately 500 square feet, very modern design. One thing we especially appreciated about Bryan was how he suggested some small added details based on what he knew of us that we hadn't thought of, like, for example, a kennel for our dog that is built into the cabinetry, and a great space to hang my cherished copper pots in the kitchen. His final design ended up being over budget for what we had wanted to spend and there were some things that we ended up just not being able to complete that he had wanted to include in the design. But overall, we are very pleased with the design that Bryan came up with and very much appreciate all the effort he put into the project.

Sandi Erdman Design LLCInterior Designers & Decorators, ArchitectsI didn't know it at the time, but even as a child I started practicing residential design. For fun, my parents would drive around neighborhoods looking at houses, and built a couple homes from their own plans. I didn't complain (much) and loved the creative process of developing the designs until everything was just right. I have since earned a degree in Architecture and am happy to make your hopes and dreams a reality. I value: - Smart design: Rather than replicating the past or defaulting to convention I believe in a transformation that fits; fits your values, fits your lifestyle, and even feeds your soul. Aesthetic style is just one consideration within the project whole but good design solves problems in a beautiful way. - Family interaction: I believe designing spaces where all members of the household are considered and accommodated. Gathering areas are important as are individual spaces. - Efficient use of space: Often more space is not the answer, and will only become unnecessarily filled. Smarter space is not only a better solution but is a joy to live in. - Healthy environment: Your home should contribute to good physical and mental health. What is more uplifting than feeling that your home environment supports your life in the best way possible. I want to make your home beautiful AND functional. - "A Place for Everything...and Everything in its Place": A "one-size-fits-all" solution will leave you adjusting your life to fit your space. The better solution is your space fitting your life.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to tell you about the wonderful experience we had working with Sandi Erdman. From the moment Sandi came to our home, we knew that she was the perfect designer for us. She immediately showed genuine enthusiasm for the possibilities for our home. She listened attentively and made exciting suggestions that far exceeded anything we had imagined could be possible. Every time we met with Sandi, it felt like she had stepped into our minds to come up with exactly the right ideas to fit our needs and our aesthetic. She, quite literally, helped us see our home from a whole different angle. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!! Sandi made it easy to dream big while also helping us to efficiently take care of the minor decisions that could get overwhelming without her wonderful eye for color and design. We are absolutely thrilled with the end result of Sandi’s amazing design!!! We cannot thank enough for giving us the opportunity to work with her. Shea and Michael Marshman
