My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

“Im a contractor that has worked alongside Custom Homes on several of their projects. Their building process is very good, well organized, and they are very knowledgeable. Their work turns out so well because they don't cut corners and use quality products.”
Titus Contracting
New & Custom Home Builders Near Dakota County
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsMarch 28, 2025
“We did a two story home addition with Titus Contracting. They did an amazing job making sure everything was covered and thought of in detail. They gave us plenty of time to go through all the documents, review them, ask questions, adjust plans. Titus' designer Ksusha gave multiple ideas to our mudroom/laundry, bedroom/closet/bathroom addition, and their 3D visualization tool really helped us see the space beyond a drawing on paper. One part that really stood out were the carpenters. Dillon (project supervisor and lead carpenter) and Brian (project manager) really treated the project like their own home. They looked at what the designers wanted, and what looked best once the project was actually being built, then combined the two to make it look great. For example, we had a transition doorway from our addition to the existing living room that Dillon took the time to adjust a make it look amazing. Furthermore, when we saw an electric fireplace mount was off-center by about two inches, Brian had a carpenter adjust it the next day. Titus had the mindset the entire time that they wanted to work with us to make our addition right. Their subcontractors were always respectful and on time with their work. After our project was completed, we noticed a small air leak between the dryer vent and dryer letting cold winter air in. I contacted Titus, and they had the HVAC subcontractor out to fix it (no questions asked). Titus really wanted to exceed our expectations, and their team is setup to make it happen. I would absolutely go with Titus Contracting for any home addition or remodel project in the future!”
Bigelow Homes LLC
New & Custom Home Builders Near Dakota County
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsDecember 13, 2018
“We worked with Matt Simon at Bigelow Homes and he did a great job managing our home building project. They make the project very easy by their excellent sub-contractors. When meeting with the sub-contractors regarding our building decisions they were very helpful and responsive to any questions we had. Another very nice example of the great Bigelow sub-contractors was the fact that they did not try to run our allowances up to make more money, always showing us price options. Matt was always very quick to respond to any questions we had or emails sent regarding our new home. They also maintained our building schedule from the day the excavation started, right up to our move in date. We were given a fair building estimate from Bigelow Homes and did exceed our estimate by about $10 K, based upon decisions we made during the building process. In the end we moved into a quality home based upon our floor plan and they met our deadline. We would recommend Bigelow Homes to anyone building in the Rochester Area. They also have a lot of options for home building within developments outside of Rochester. Bigelow Homes has a great home building team, we are sure very happy with them.”
