Consider removing the mirrors, and using the wall space for open shelving to hold baskets for extras. A lamp rather than decor on the dresser might be more handy, and just as decorative. Congratulations on your new addition.

Very good advice babies require a lot of stuff that needs to be stored somewhere. Keeping in mind the bassinet is a very short time in use they look pretty but are useless after the 3rd month. I would go with small scaled roching chair to save space.

Something traditional and dimmable will give you greatest flexibility. Ikea, Home depot have a few on their websites.

It's been 5 years since I've had a baby around, but what about a changing table? We used a dresser and set a changing pad on it as well as a basket for diapers, etc.
