The Impressive Studio City Mid-Century Exterior Masterpiece was a comprehensive interior and exterior remodel, revitalizing a dated property into a stunning modern sanctuary. The homeowners sought to blend mid-century design with a contemporary twist, emphasizing clean lines, natural materials, and expansive views. We transformed the exterior with a sleek wood-paneled entrance, smooth stucco walls, and minimalist landscaping, creating an inviting curb appeal that reflects the home's architectural roots. Large, custom glass doors seamlessly connect the indoors with the outdoors, bathing the interior in natural light and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Studio City landscape. Inside, we continued the mid-century theme by selecting warm wood flooring, an open-concept layout, and modern fixtures that merge style with comfort. The homeowners wanted a space that felt sophisticated yet warm, and our team worked closely with them throughout the project to ensure every detail met their vision. As a Studio City-based company, we took pride in sourcing local materials and embracing the area's aesthetic. This remodel has resulted in a mid-century masterpiece that not only enhances the home’s functionality but also stands as a true statement piece in the neighborhood.

Kendrick's Cabin is a full interior remodel, turning a traditional mountain cabin into a modern, open living space. The walls and ceiling were white washed to give a nice and bright aesthetic. White the original wood beams were kept dark to contrast the white. New, larger windows provide more natural light while making the space feel larger. Steel and metal elements are incorporated throughout the cabin to balance the rustic structure of the cabin with a modern and industrial element.

This refaced kitchen is now bright and cheery, reflecting the homeowners personal style. While the home is modest in the range of color choices, it's got lots of style. A sophisticated motif without a lot of clutter. Cabinet refacing saved a lot of their budget allowing them to upgrade change the countertops and backsplash too. When you remodel the kitchen, the more elements you can change the bigger the transformation. Many times when you try to leave in and work off an existing element of the room, it holds you back in terms of design. The countertop color highlights the beautiful walnut glazing on the the cabinet doors. Enriching the space with a subtle undertone of warmth. The Sonora Corian countertops are a warm cocoa color with sublte swirls of gray and brown, contrasting and blancing the rich antique white cabinetry. Corian is a solid surface material that will last for decades. Corian is strong and durable material that is bacteria resistant and doesn't scratch or stain. We continued with the Corian for the backsplash picking up the colors of the cabinets and the countertops with Sandlewood. The swirls of coco, off white and gray, continue with the muted palette. They chose Corian for the backsplash because they didn't want to deal with grout and tile as they did in the past. The Corian backsplash will never need sealing or regrouting, creating another maintenance free component to this updated kitchen remodel. Bedroom - contemporary bedroom idea in Houston

Like many California ranch homes built in the 1950s, this original master bathroom was not really a "master bath." My clients, who only three years ago purchased the home from the family of the original owner, were saddled with a small, dysfunctional space. Chief among the dysfunctions: a vanity only 30" high, and an inconveniently placed window that forced the too-low vanity mirror to reflect only the waist and partial torso--not the face--of anyone standing in front of it. They wanted not only a more spacious bathroom but a bedroom as well, so we worked in tandem with an architect and contractor to come up with a fantastic new space: a true Master Suite. In order to refine a design concept for the soon-to-be larger space, and thereby narrow down material choices, my clients and I had a brainstorming session: we spoke of an elegant Old World/ European bedroom and bathroom, a luxurious bath that would reference a Roman spa, and finally the idea of a Hammam was brought into the mix. We blended these ideas together in oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, and a tiny tile mosaic in beautiful Bursa Beige marble from Turkey and white Thassos marble from Greece. The new generously sized bathroom boasts a jetted soaking tub, a very large walk-in shower, a double-sided fireplace (facing the tub on the bath side), and a luxurious 8' long vanity with double sinks and a storage tower. The vanity wall is covered with a mosaic vine pattern in a beautiful Bursa Beige marble from Turkey and white Thassos marble from Greece,. The custom Larson Juhl framed mirrors are flanked by gorgeous hand-wrought scones from Hubbardton Forge which echo the vine and leaf pattern in the mosaic. And the vanity itself features an LED strip in the toe-kick which allows one to see in the middle of the night without having to turn on a shockingly bright overhead fixture. At the other end of the master bath, a luxurious jetted tub nestles by a fireplace in the bay window area. Views of my clients' garden can be seen while soaking in bubbles. The over-sized walk-in shower features a paneled wainscoting effect which I designed in Crema Marfil marble. The vine mosaic continues in the shower, topped by green onyx squares. A rainshower head and a hand-held spray on a bar provides showering options. The shower floor slopes gently in one direction toward a hidden linear drain; this allows the floor to be read as a continuation of the main space, without being interrupted by a center drain. Ernesto Santalla was approached to create a new home for two Washington, DC lawyers wishing to downsize their living space. The move took them from a row house in Washington's historic Dupont Circle neighborhood to a two bedroom apartment in the vibrant, up-and-coming U Street Corridor. Our task was to transform a rather plain and generic apartment into a custom, sophisticated space in a few strategic moves. Ceiling details serve to define functional areas of the living space without creating divisions. Changing some doors from wood to frosted glass, creates a sense of continuity between spaces, and allows light to travel between spaces. Lighting was inserted strategically, to enhance certain functions of the home. The kitchen was partially enclosed with a plane of frosted glass to create visual separation from the main living space while still allowing natural light to filter in from the expansive wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. Color was used to reinforce the architectural intent and simplify spaces, such as the entry, which as many doors and frames. Furniture was selected to blend with the client's collection of heirloom pieces, creating a sophisticated juxtaposition.
