2024 interior design trends are moving beyond the classic white and gray toward warmer tones that create an ambience of comfort and connection with nature. This year, the spotlight has been on warm tones paired with green accents that are both inviting and rejuvenating. This Stoneunlimited Kitchen and Bath client's home serves as a beautiful example getting back to warmer neutral tones of incorporates deep chocolate tones, warm browns and taupe to create a harmonious feeling as you walk through each space. Creamy gray painted walls are the perfect backdrop for the bolder design elements found in the exposed beams, backsplash, two tone cabinetry and accent walls. This home remodel has been inspired by nature. The dynamic sage green paint on the wall of the dedicated beverage station and in the living room bring life to each space. Our client has tastefully placed accent foliage and other decor throughout the home that has brought the outdoors into each room. Textures in the backsplash, natural wood grains in the cabinetry and exposed beams create a forest feel which is both inviting and peaceful. Stoneunlimited Kitchen and Bath Remodeling had the opportunity to help this customer achieve their dream of a fully remodeled main floor which included: kitchen, guest bathroom, dining room, kitchenette, pantry, living room and office. Extensive carpentry work was performed in what used to be a dinning and sitting room on the main level. A large wall was removed, and a new wall was created with a door entry and a recessed beverage station was installed with two tone upper and lower cabinets that house a small fridge. The upper cabinets with lighting were installed inside the glass upper cabinetry to add layered lighting to the space. Three wood beams were installed in the ceiling and a new kitchenette/pantry area was created behind the newly constructed wall. The kitchenette/pantry area includes a tall storage area as well as upper and lower cabinetry with a sink and small fridge. The kitchenette pantry is a perfect place to house countertop mixers, crock pots, air fryers or other small appliances that are accessible for immediate use. The main kitchen tops remain free of small appliance clutter and the countertops become an expansive workspace. The existing kitchen had a peninsula that made the area feel confined, prior to the kitchen remodel portion of the project. The peninsula was removed, and the fridge was relocated to the opposite wall, across the room to create a more open feel. Although a working island was installed, the flow through the kitchen feels more open and fluid than it did previously. The work island houses the microwave as well as additional storage. Spice and utensil pull outs to the left and right side of the range keep prepping utensils and seasonings conveniently tucked away. Other projects that were completed included in the home included new cabinetry and floating shelves that were installed in the living area. The two-tone aesthetic of the cabinetry is consistent with the other areas of the home and merge beautifully with the natural stacked stone feature in the fireplace wall. Darker lower cabinets anchor the room while lighter warmer upper tones provide a lighter feel without overpowering the space. The guest bathroom off of the living area was also remodeled. Taupe tones were introduced with the natural warm tones of newly installed cabinetry and countertops to maximize the storage space. 6 1/2 x 40" nut brown plank tile was installed and can be seen throughout the expanse of the first floor, giving the appearance of wood but are porcelain which are highly durable and easy to maintain. The homeowner also opted to have their main stairwell redone which included removing existing carpet, installation of stair treads and hardwood for the steps and landing area which included sanding and staining. Overall, the interior remodel of the main floor of this client's home was extensive and the impact of the changes that were made are incredible! The choices that were made with our client make this remodel not only specialized and customized to their everyday needs but a beautiful representation of how a dream home remodel can be achieved and accomplished. This modern family home models contemporary family living at its finest. Designed by a husband and wife team, (the latter is the founder and designer behind Brownstone Design & Co.) the breathtaking open-concept interior delivers modernist design principles with thoughtfully selected finishes throughout. The duo designed the home of their dreams themselves, drawing out inch by inch to specify exactly the look they wanted and picking all of the materials themselves including tiles, floorboards, siding, and of course, lighting. Brownstone Design & Co. worked with Zaneen to carefully select lighting solutions from all three divisions of Zaneen lighting - architectural, design and exterior – allowing for ease of coordination, quality and consistency by working with one brand. From the kitchen to the bathroom and every thoughtfully-designed space in between, all of the fixtures used are energy efficient, dimmable and customized in order to suit the needs and dimensions of the spaces. Since the specifications of their home were not standard, our experts provided the necessary knowledge and advice to install high-quality products to match the luxury home. Collaborating with Zaneen, Brownstone Design & Co. was able to turn lighting from just a functional element into art, bringing the overall interior design to life with the use of dark wood embellishments, gorgeous marble backdrops and more. The result is a magazine worthy home that is at once modern, comfortable, and conducive to raising a family.

This project was a retrofit and expansion of an existing house in San Francisco's Noe Valley Neighborhood. The original house, built in 1910, had been insensitively remodeled in the 1950’s to mimic the Spanish Mediterranean style. Located on a typical narrow San Francisco lot, the interior of the existing house consisted of a series of disconnected rooms, lacking daylight and lacked daylight and open “flow”. The homeowners had lived in the house for nearly 20 years, becoming familiar with its shortcomings, and wanted to overhaul the majority of the building. The new design includes an enlarged 2 car garage and garden master bedroom suite on the ground level, and a 400 square foot addition with two bedrooms and a full bath at the third floor. While enlarging the home the new design strategically incorporates several small courtyard spaces which are carved into the footprint to bring daylight and views to all areas of the house. These spaces create much needed relief to the interior of the long narrow footprint so that every space has a connection, actual or visual, to the outside. The narrow driveway at the front of the house was widened and repurposed to incorporate a covered front walkway to the elevated porch. The original entrance was trapped along the side of the house opening to a long narrow hallway. The new entrance has been relocated allowing one to enter at the center of the house rather than the corner. The new entrance opens to an implied vestibule that is contiguous with the dining and living areas. The glazing at the entry brings daylight to the interior and allows occupants visual access to the porch, sidewalk and street beyond, adding a degree of security. The mid garden court defines the boundary between the formal living areas to toward the front and the kitchen at the heart of the house. Hallways are eliminated in the new open plan replaced by a central circulation zone that terminates at the through the windows in the raised Media room at the rear. The high wall of the stair tower forms the south facing edge of the garden court, and faced in light colored stucco, reflects light into the formal living areas. The stairway walls are perforated by large translucent vertical widows bringing diffuse illumination as a backdrop to the adjacent kitchen. The stairway wraps lightly through the space around a pedestal altar-like drybar. This creates a bridge from the kitchen into the core of the circulation space which bridges spatially to the new living levels above and below. The slightly raised floor of the Media Room with its built-in window seat, and access to a private deck provide a greater sense of intimacy and create a comfortable transition zone facing the rear yard. Working through a newly defined mechanism called the “Community Land Trust” program Lawrenceville Corporation is pioneering a new standard for community development and affordable home ownership. Phase one of the CLT development consists of 6 new and one renovation unit that are built with materials that are equal to, or often times of a higher quality than the market rate homes that Lawrenceville has become known for. In addition, every CLT home has been designed to seamlessly integrate into existing historical fabric of Upper Lawrenceville by respecting and implementing design elements from contextual neighborhood patterns. The CLT design team’s radically different approach to sustainability, resiliency, and energy efficiency will ensure the affordability of these homes remain intact for generations, challenging the idea that affordability should equate to compromises in the quality of living.

This comprehensive backyard remodel showcases a transformation into a luxurious, modern outdoor retreat. The centerpiece of the project is the replastered pool and spa, now revitalized with a fresh, smooth finish that enhances both aesthetic appeal and durability. Surrounding the water features, new pour-in-place concrete coping has been installed, offering clean lines and a cohesive look that elevates the overall design. The outdoor kitchen has been fully remodeled, featuring a striking granite countertop that blends seamlessly with white smooth stucco finishes for a crisp, contemporary appearance. This space is now perfectly suited for both casual grilling and upscale entertaining. Adjacent to the pool, custom pour-in-place concrete steps and a bench-integrated firepit create a functional yet elegant gathering space. Both the bench and the firepit are finished with matching white smooth stucco, ensuring consistency in design. The firepit is uniquely integrated with a cascading waterfall, combining elemental contrast and soothing ambiance. Flagstone flooring and steps have been upgraded to premium upscale tile, offering improved durability, ease of maintenance, and a modernized aesthetic that complements the new finishes throughout the space. Overall, this backyard remodel harmoniously blends contemporary design with functional luxury, creating an inviting outdoor environment for relaxation, entertainment, and enjoyment.

This modern transitional kitchen was completed by The Cabination, featuring navy blue cabinets with clean lines and thoughtfully designed storage solutions. The project highlights full-height cabinetry, integrated storage details, and a balanced layout that combines everyday functionality with a refined, timeless look. It's definitely not a typical prefabricated house out of catalogue as we tried to develop a residence that meets the needs of modern users while having functional floor plans and contemporary elegant exterior all appropriately settled into its landscape. Main concept presents three volumes that are placed in a triangular composition partially overlayed with a rectangular form of the upper floor. While the dynamic shape of the groundfloor is covered with a flat roof, the 1st floor is completed with a gable –like roof, echoing the traditional architecture of the house's surroundings. While we enter into an open spacious and dynamically shaped groundfloor we discover a pleasant intimate ambience. The living room and dining area offer a lot of natural light through the large glazed window surfaces. A prominent staircase leads us to the upper sleeping area that consists of the main bedroom with its own dressing room and a bathroom and children's rooms with a smaller bathroom. Despite groundfloor's dynamic shape, its façade is monochrome - predominately a clean white surface in combination with bigger windows. On the contrary the simple form of the upper floor has a boldly designed façade - a combination of dark colour shades and natural larch wood’s textures. Wood is the basic structural element and at the same time complements the facades, window frames, while also dominating the interiors.

This Spring Valley yard was an incredibly complicated build. With over 5 stories of elevation change in the yard from the front to the back of the property, creating a sense of consistency and integration was a challenge. The expansive yard demanded a lot of thought be put into the cohesive design elements to make one's area flow with ease from one place to the next. This stunning project, a combination hardscape, deck, pergola and fire pit project in the Ballantrae subdivision of Dublin, Ohio, is a work of art. We built the two pergolas with cedar and stained them to match the decking. The pergolas are more decorative than functional. You can see the top of each pergola consists of two long beams topped with a series of shorter rafters. A pergola designed to cast maximum shade would have a third element on top, a series of thinner slats running across the rafters. Here, the larger pergola serves to define the primary dining area, and the smaller one enforces the boundary at the edge of the patio.

The aesthetic for this home is organic modernism. It combines natural materials and colors with modern elements for an airy and sophisticated look. The furniture consists of clean lines, rounded shapes and smooth surfaces that are accentuated with a variety of leathers, metals, and neutral linens to introduce texture and an organic feel. To give the home just a splash of color we used the warmth from cognac leathers and deep soft blues throughout the accessories. Overall, the contrast between modern and organic creates the perfect balance between clean and comfortable that will appeal to any future homeowner.

This stunning new custom cut Douglas Fir timber frame home is constructed with traditional mortise and tenon joinery and structural exterior insulated paneled wall system. It consists of a soaring two story living room with a full masonry blue stone fireplace, a walkout basement, a wrap around deck, a covered entry porch and a breezeway linked garage... All elements combine to make this special house a home.

The Contemporary Residence, sits on 600 gracious acres that used to be a horse farm. The interior design is moody and dark partially to catch a break from the scorching Australian sun, but mostly because it creates the richness the clients desired. The Interior Designer also handled the architecture, stripping everything back to its structure and cladding the exterior in black Tasmanian oak. The Designer brought in his frequent collaborator, landscape designer Myles Baldwin. The centralized management of all these elements ensured a rare aesthetic consistency for such a huge undertaking design.

This 4,800 square-foot guesthouse is a three-story residence consisting of a main-level master suite, upper-level guest suite, and a large bunkroom. The exterior finishes were selected for their durability and low-maintenance characteristics, as well as to provide a unique, complementary element to the site. Locally quarried granite and a sleek slate roof have been united with cement fiberboard shingles, board-and-batten siding, and rustic brackets along the eaves. The public spaces are located on the north side of the site in order to communicate with the public spaces of a future main house. With interior details picking up on the picturesque cottage style of architecture, this space becomes ideal for both large and small gatherings. VILLA THEA is divine place for a luxury life on Zakynthos Island. Designed by architect Lucy Lago. The philosophy of the project is to find a balance between the architectural design and the environment. The villa has flowing natural forms, subtle curves in every line. Despite the construction of the building, the villa seems to float on the expanse of the mountain hill of the Keri region. The smoothness of the forms can be traced throughout the project, from the functional solution on the plan and ending with the terraces and the pool around the villa. This project has style and identity. The villa will be an expensive piece of jewelry placed in the vastness of nature. The architectural uniqueness and originality will make villa Thea special in the architectural portfolio of the whole world. Combining futurism with naturism is a step into the future. The use of modern technologies, ecological construction methods put the villa one step higher, and its significance is greater. It is possible to create the motives of nature and in the same time to touch the space theme on the Earth. Villa consists by open living, dining and kitchen area, 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, gym, cellar, storage, big swimming pool, garden and parking areas. The interior of the villa is one piece with the entire architectural project designed by Lucy Lago. Organic shapes and curved, flowing lines are part of the space. For the interior, selected white, light shades, glass and reflective surfaces. All attention is directed to the panoramic sea view from the window. Beauty in every single detail, special attention to natural and artificial light. Green plants are the accents of the interior and remind us that we are on the wonderful island of Zakynthos.
