This island design has something to hide! The bar stools are able to be pushed fully under the countertop and concealed from view if desired. This staircase leading to this home's back door was rebuilt to include under-stair storage. The stair fronts were left open, and the inside of the staircase was framed, allowing a continuation of flooring. The extra floor space in this staircase creates the perfect shoe storage and eliminating the chance of tripping over shoes. Project designed by Skokie renovation firm, Chi Renovation & Design. They serve the Chicagoland area, and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. This home has "doggone" good design! This design, by Kendra Roenker of Modern Builders Supply, makes pet care easy for the owners, and luxurious for the dogs. The amenities go way beyond the basics. The faucet is placed above the water bowls—no more toting water from the kitchen sink and leaving a wet trail behind. The beds aren't just beds—they are raised beds with stepping stools. The feeding station holds toys, food, leashes and dog grooming tools—there will be no problems finding necessities. What more could a dog or a dog owner need? Kendra specified StarMark Cabinetry's Viola door style in Cherry finished in a beautiful brown cabinet color called Hazelnut. Job well done Kendra! By relocating the sink and dishwasher to the island the new kitchen layout allows the owners to engage with guests seated at the island and the banquette while maintaining a view to the outdoor terrace.

This kitchen belongs to a lively young family of five (soon to be six) in New Rochelle New York. When meeting the family to discuss the kitchen renovation, the request was simple, yet required careful planning. They wanted a beautiful high end kitchen that would be not only child friendly but one that would give their children the feeling that this is a space for them to use freely. And so the kitchen was designed. All countertops and backsplash, including the sink apron and the kitchen hood, are made out of a Dekton porcelain, a material that is both heat, scratch and stain resistant. Thanks to ever evolving technologies, it not only looks like stone, but feels like it as well. A secret compartment with a pouch magnet on the panel wall contains a three tier step-stool for reaching the upper cabinets while those are equipped with pulldown shelves to utilize all spaces with easy access. The breakfast room table has a custom glass top created to prevent wear and tear of the table while the chairs are made of leather and can easily be wiped off.
