Kitchen design and full gut remodel in post and beam kitchen. They contacted Castle to help them with their basement planning and build for a finished laundry space and new bathroom with shower. After the designer and client walked through ideas to improve flow of space, we decided to eliminate the existing 1/2 bath in the family room, and move the new bathroom into the existing laundry room. The full laundry room was finished to include new walls, ceilings, new plumbing, new Adura luxury vinyl tile flooring, beautiful shaker style cabinetry with beadboard panel, Glossy white Cultured marble countertops, a new Blanco composite sink, and Kohler Bellera faucet. In the new bathroom space, we continued the Adura luxury vinyl flooring. Finishes in the bathroom include Kohler Memoirs pedestal sink, Kohler Archer faucet, custom hex tile shower floor, subway tile walls, and custom frameless glass shower enclosure. Additional improvements were made to improve the health of the home including asbestos tile abatement, new drain tile and sump pump, new spray foam insulation, new glass block window, and a new Panasonic bathroom fan. We also decided to save and restore some original pieces in the home like their existing 5-panel doors and repurposing one salvaged door into a pocket door for the new bathroom. The homeowner completed the basement finish with new carpeting in the family room. The whole basement feels fresh, new, and has a great flow. They will enjoy their happy and healthy home for years to come.

H2D Architecture + Design developed a comprehensive vision for the renovation of this Bellevue residence, creating a cohesive master plan that can be implemented in phased construction to align with the homeowners' priorities, budget, and timeline. The first phase reimagined the primary suite, including a redesigned bathroom, reconfigured closet and bedroom. Strategic space planning enhanced the functionality and flow of each space while creating a serene, spa-inspired retreat tailored to the homeowners' lifestyle. Future phases will transform the home's main living areas through a complete reconfiguration of the kitchen, dining room, entry, and living room. The SATO1 project was a 1000 square foot condo remodel. The focus of the project was on small home space planning. Designer Bethany Pearce / Van Hecke was challenged with creating solutions for a home office, baby's room as well as improved flow in dining/kitchen and living room. This bathroom features a double sink vanity and grey tile in a diamond pattern to visually improve the flow of the room. The walls feature marble looking porcelain tile floor to ceiling in the vanity area that flows right into the shower. The oval vessel sinks mimic the oval tub. Chrome Grohe fixtures and Jonathan Adler Versailles sconces accent are the icing on the cake.

The owners of this home located in a historic Baltimore neighborhood wanted a much larger kitchen, and because they regularly entertained large numbers of guests, they wanted to improve flow throughout the house. The decision was made to create a gallery addition across the rear of the house, anchored at one end by a new kitchen addition. A dynamic 1-1/2 story breakfast room was created on axis with the entrance hall, and serves to bridge the kitchen and the gallery. A series of french doors allows the gallery to flow gracefully out to a new terrace, and a richly detailed coffered ceiling gives detail and rhythm to the fairly narrow gallery space. Through a collaboration with a local architect, we created a sleek, modern addition that stayed true to the original style and construction of the house. The clients, a busy family of five, wanted the addition to appear as if it had always belonged while simultaneously improving the flow and function of the home. Along with exterior addition, the kitchen was completely gutted and remodeled. The new kitchen design is a complex, full overlay, wood grain cabinet design that greatly improves storage for the bustling family and now provides them with a new dining room in which to entertain. This Park Avenue pre-war apartment was renovated and decorated in 2004 for a prominent movie producer, who hired us again in 2011 to establish a more contemporary tone. The original work included upgrading electrical, plumbing and air conditioning systems, plus improving the flow of public and private spaces. Existing furnishings were used at the time, but more recently the décor was modernized to streamline and simplify space within the traditional envelope of the apartment.

With natural light from VELUX skylights, this kitchen's dark blue and black color scheme really shines. The homeowner selected gold skylight blinds to complement the light fixture and cabinet hardware.

In the remodeled kitchen, the homeowners asked for an "unfitted" or somewhat eclectic and casual New England style. To improve the layout of the space, Neil Kelly Designer Robert Barham completely re-imagined the orientation, moving the refrigerator to a new wall and moving the range from the island to a wall. He also moved the doorway from the living room to a new location to improve the overall flow. Everything in this kitchen was replaced except for the newer appliances and the beautiful exposed wood beams in the ceiling. Highlights of the design include stunning hardwood flooring, a craftsman style island, the custom black range hood, and vintage brass cabinet pulls sourced by the homeowners.

HOMEOWNER DESIRED OUTCOME These new grandparents moved to Dallas to be closer to a new grandchild. The house was in the perfect neighborhood, but as a spec home lacked the necessary design planning the couple was looking for, especially in the kitchen. OUR CREATIVE SOLUTION Blackline created a custom island that immediately improved the work flow of the kitchen and added convenient additional bar seating for three. It also featured a new range, plenty of extra storage, and was topped in a show-stopping Daltile polished ‘Copacabana’ Granite. The new kitchen is bright, functional, and the perfect spot to host family, friends, and of course, grandchildren!
