1st floor and kitchen redesign and remodel by the team at Advance Design Studio. Our clients needed increased pantry storage, a brighter space, and a functional island. It was our pleasure to bring their vision to life!

For this full kitchen remodel, we filled in one doorway. Doing so then allowed for continuous countertop space between the range and sink and an increase in storage. The dishwasher moved and is now paneled. Open shelving with brackets to display art work/dishes was incorporated. Windows were replaced and exterior walls were spray foamed in order to better the energy efficiency of the house. A Kohler Strive faucet and Vault sink were installed along with Alder cabinetry, Oak natural finish flooring, and gorgeous Atlas Granite countertops. Designed by Amy Hinck. A busy family of 5 needed a new space for entertaining. The layout proved functional, and with an easy switch of the range and seating areas, a kitchen for entertaining was made. A built in 48" range with a griddle top allows for plenty of space for cooking in the large 10' x 5' island, topped with Taj Mahal Quartzite. Behind the range are fridge and freezer towers, flanked by mirrored pantries that hold everything from spices to canned goods. A large 42" undermount sink spans the breadth of the window that overlooks the canyon beyond. A mirrored hutch balances the side where new French doors open out onto a herb garden. A dry bar matches the cabinetry and increases the space in the grand great room.

South Baton Rouge Kitchen Remodel:
If the kitchen space was a blank slate - how could it be designed to function best for the owners? Asking this question at the beginning and collaboration with the owner and designer that desired a beautiful end product was what contributed to the success of this project. We began with a center island cooktop that "cramped" the room for preparing meals and a relatively small refrigerator space. For an owner that loves to cook and entertain, we needed to increase the available space for cooking and food storage. In the end, we relocated the gas range to the side wall along with increasing the island size to allow room for meal preparation along with bar style seating for loved ones to "watch and test taste" while keeping good conversation close by the cook in action. We also were able to accommodate the owner's desire to increase the refrigerator/ freezer space without losing cabinet storage. Installing floor to ceiling cabinetry with accessory lighting gives this space the sense that good design and quality craftsmanship are necessary ingredients for another successful project by Spencer's Contracting.

By changing the shape of the peninsula to add seating and functional sink and dish washing areas, adding a wine refrigerator, range and secondary microwave convection oven, along with a large appliance garage, and thoughtfully planned cabinetry storage, now everything has its proper place. Increasing the storage to the ceiling via soffit enclosure, highlighting the focal wall with two colors of cabinetry, a soft gray and a bright white, and incorporating floating shelves and textured back splash, this entire kitchen space sings beautifully!

The kitchen was at the top of the list for a total overhaul – the worn oak cabinets, dated appliances, and clunky layout all had to go. Removing the decorative soffits allowed us to take the new cabinetry all the way to the ceiling, adding functional storage and visually extending the room’s height. We reconfigured the layout from a modified U to an L-shape which accomplished several things – it opened up the kitchen to the dining room, redirected circulation, and most importantly, created space for an island. A brand new pantry was created for overflow food storage, bulk items, occasional dishware and small appliances, ensuring that our client’s goal of uncluttered countertops was achievable.
The finish selections and clean lines give a nod to the home’s mid-century bones. The wood island provides warmth and the light quartz countertops, textured backsplash and white cabinets keep the kitchen feeling light and bright. We opted to install open shelving above the sink which provides display space and needed storage without the bulkiness of an overhead cabinet. The matte black faucet, hardware and decorative pendants add another level of visual interest to the modern kitchen. To unify the kitchen and dining room, we replaced the drab kitchen flooring with select red oak hardwoods that were expertly installed and refinished to match the gorgeous wood flooring throughout the home.

We really opened up and reorganized this kitchen to give the clients a more modern update and increased functionality and storage. The backsplash is a main focal point and the color palette is very sleek while being warm and inviting.

A new-build, replacement dwelling in a sensitive green belt location, designed to take advantage of the countryside setting and views.
By capitalising on volume increases to the existing dwelling through a series of incremental Permitted Development schemes, the home better suits its site and context. By raising a previously ground bearing floor area into a cantilever it can now encapsulate long ranging views from the master bedroom. To create a contemporary rural aesthetic the materials include a zinc roof, pre-weathered burnt timber cladding and brick.
Landscaping has been designed by renowned British Garden Designer Andy Sturgeon who created three distinct gardens: a wild flower walk to the pool, a formal crescent-shaped striped lawn and south-facing gravel garden. The garden takes advantage of views across the Thames valley to Hedsor House and Cliveden, as a result of it being elevated and levelled with excavation material from the basement.

We couldn’t increase the actual dimensions, but with an enhanced flow and more space the kitchen now
feels much larger—thanks to wider doorways, a smarter cabinet layout and improved work triangle
functionality.

Design challenge in this small kitchen was to increase storage. Before the remodel, an outside door was located where the refrigerator is. Door was relocated and pantry storage was added to the right of the refrigerator and next to the wall oven. Another challenge was to fit the pantries into a corner space and not impede the opening of the pantry doors or the refrigerator. Cabinets by Dura Supreme.
