Stebnitz Builders, Inc.The homeowners wish-list when searching for properties in the Geneva Lake area included: low-maintenance, incredible lake views, a pier but also a house that needed a lot of work because they were searching for a true project. After months of designing and planning, a bright and open design of the great room was created to maximize the room’s incredible view of Geneva Lake. Nautical touches can be found throughout the home, including the rope detailing on the overhead light fixture, in the coffee table accessories and the child-sized replica wooden boat. The crisp, clean kitchen has thoughtful design details, like the vintage look faucet and a mosaic outline of Geneva Lake in the back splash.

Goodwin Heart Pine CompanyChildren’s book author, poet and songwriter Shel Silverstein lived in Key West for many years. While he passed away in 1999, his legacy lives on through some of his most popular works including Where the Sidewalk Ends, A Light in the Attic and The Giving Tree.
In 2017, Hurricane Irma blew over two trees in the front of the home that Silverstein lived in for years. They crushed the front of the house and the home was condemned.
The current owners engaged Scott Hutton of Kanga Construction to completely demolish the home and then rebuild an exact replica. Goodwin milled 1800sf of building reclaimed Legacy Heart Pine Vertical 3-1/4″ flooring for the restoration of the home. We also produced the stair treads.
The Buckingham GroupTo accommodate an extensive collection of books a custom bookcase complete with led strip lighting was installed in the remodeled basement. A home entertainment center was added to the center of the bookcase assembly. The soffit above the bookcase cleverly conceals the revamped heating and air conditioning ducts that service this room. New Pella Architectural Series casement windows filter natural light into the basement through the restored window wells.

In the1930’s, factories replaced workbench-mounted lamps with overhead fixtures that cast a wider span of light. The “RLM Warehouse Shade,” with its distinctive flare, became standard. Our Lansing pendant features a RLM shade, attached to a cast metal replica of the “explosion proof” condulets that industrial factories required. A die-cast bulb guard protects Lansing’s prismatic glass diffuser.
