Perfect for staying cozy in the colder months, this family room's built-in entertainment center with fireplace is ideal! There's plenty of storage for displaying meaningful knick knacks and fun potted plants. The mantel piece itself is made from re-purposed cypress wood collected from an Irish pub in New Orleans that was destroyed during Katrina.

This complete home remodel was complete by taking the early 1990's home and bringing it into the new century with opening up interior walls between the kitchen, dining, and living space, remodeling the living room/fireplace kitchen, guest bathroom, creating a new master bedroom/bathroom floor plan, and creating an outdoor space for any sized party!

By moving the sofa in front of the fireplace, the room opens up and the new configuration allows for easy television viewing. The client doesn't use her fireplace so moving the sofa in front of it was not a problem and opened up more possibilities. The smaller chairs are shifted to the side wall for a small seating conversation area.

Just take a look at this home crafted with 300-year-old barn boards the owners carted from states away. The home's layout was written on a cocktail napkin 30 years ago and brought to life as the owner's dying wish. Thankfully, Kevin Klover is still fighting the good fight and got to move into his dream home. Take a look around.

The drop ceiling in the general area was removed and the joists were painted black. In the kitchenette area the drop ceiling remained but was painted the same black. All the cabinets were moved to take out the peninsula and create an island.

Warmly Inviting
"The Family "gathering" Room"
Out: walls, unused wet bar, small bathroom, windows.
In: gas/stone fireplace, spacious sliding door, light inviting windows, sleek built-ins, open floorplan."The Kitchen and Dining room"
Out: brick bearing walls, old porch, tiny kitchen, confining dining room,
In: light filled addition, open floorplan with front to back sight lines, stunning kitchen, spacious island, warm reclaimed column and shelving, one happy client! .
"The Exterior"
We demolished a disjointed screen porch and built a larger kitchen addition in its place. An 8' sliding door and bright new windows were added to the rear of the home for the future family room.
"The Dining and Mud Rooms"
After converting the tiny kitchen into a mudroom with a centered doorway, the typical daily accumulated shoes, backpacks and coats now can easily be hidden from view simply by sliding together the unique re-purposed barn doors. Narrow openings to the left and right were enlarged inviting guests to explore the warm and fun new spaces while allowing plenty of room to expand the table

Our clients purchased a 1963 home that had never been updated! They wanted to redesign the central living area, which included the kitchen, formal dining and living room/den. Their original kitchen was small and completely closed off from the rest of the house. They wanted to repurpose the formal living room into the new formal dining room and open up the kitchen to the den and add a large island with seating for casual dining. The original den was now a nice living room, open to the kitchen, but also with a great view to their new pool! They wanted to keep some walls for their fun New Orleans one-of-a-kind artwork. They also did not want to be able to see the kitchen from the entryway. They also wanted a bar area built in somewhere, they just weren’t sure where. Our designers did an amazing job on this project, figuring out where to cut walls, where to keep them, replaced windows with doors, bringing the outdoors in and really brightening up the entire space.

The highlight of this living room is the stunning tiled fireplace covered in Impero glazed porcelain wall tile by Florida Tile. The rounded edges not only provide elegance but act as a safety precaution for the homeowner's grandchildren. On the left side of the fireplace is a custom media cabinet which neatly stores remotes, movies, and media components. The metal screen is both stylish and functional, enabling proper ventilation for the various components. Interior doors were re-purposed and placed on a track to divide the living room from the adjacent pub.

The first thing you notice about this property is the stunning views of the mountains, and our clients wanted to showcase this. We selected pieces that complement and highlight the scenery. Our clients were in love with their brown leather couches, so we knew we wanted to keep them from the beginning. This was the focal point for the selections in the living room, and we were able to create a cohesive, rustic, mountain-chic space. The home office was another critical part of the project as both clients work from home. We repurposed a handmade table that was made by the client’s family and used it as a double-sided desk. We painted the fireplace in a gorgeous green accent to make it pop.
Finding the balance between statement pieces and statement views made this project a unique and incredibly rewarding experience.

A television is placed above the fireplace so that the homeowners can open a bottle wine at the end of the day and relax while catching up on world news. The entertainment panel was built custom to allow the TV to sit recessed in the surrounding trim.
