This is stunning Dura Supreme Cabinetry home was carefully designed by designer Aaron Mauk and his team at Mauk Cabinets by Design in Tipp City, Ohio and was featured in the Dayton Homearama Touring Edition. You’ll find Dura Supreme Cabinetry throughout the home including the bathrooms, the kitchen, a laundry room, and an entertainment room/wet bar area. Each room was designed to be beautiful and unique, yet coordinate fabulously with each other. The kitchen is in the heart of this stunning new home and has an open concept that flows with the family room. A one-of-a-kind kitchen island was designed with a built-in banquet seating (breakfast nook seating) and breakfast bar to create a space to dine and entertain while also providing a large work surface and kitchen sink space. Coordinating built-ins and mantle frame the fireplace and create a seamless look with the white kitchen cabinetry. A combination of glass and mirrored mullion doors are used throughout the space to create a spacious, airy feel. The mirrored mullions also worked as a way to accent and conceal the large paneled refrigerator. The vaulted ceilings with darkly stained trusses and unique circular ceiling molding applications set this design apart as a true one-of-a-kind home. These homeowners approached Renovisions to remodel their master bath. With their kids off at college it was time to do something for themselves. They wanted an elegant upscale look with a spacious shower with glass enclosure, a high-end whirlpool bathtub and custom built in for towels. Their existing tub presented a safety issue when they opened & closed the windows which were located directly behind the tub. The new design includes a free standing tub/whirlpool with custom rounded and removable wood panels to access electrical and plumbing components. This allows a safe pass way around the tub as well as a more open feel. The adjacent shower boasts a generous space with an open style created by the use of 3/8” shower glass enclosure on 2 sides. Custom cubbies and corner seat were built into the Crema marfil marble tiles. 12″x24″ porcelain tiles were installed in a herringbone pattern providing a beautiful and unique appearance setting a neutral stage to showcase the burgundy cherry custom vanities with beaded detail and matching tower with Victorian glass. Crema Marfil marble countertops on the vanities and slab on tub featured ogee edges lending a real elegant feel to the room. The Piece de Resistance was the exquisite antique brass widespread faucets, hand held shower, shower head, matching antique brass accessories and cabinet hardware all decorated with Swarovski cut crystals.

Designed for entertaining, the central wet bar off the breakfast room has counter service to both family room and covered patio; elevator up to 3rd story media room. This is a multi-functional space serving as side entrance, mudroom, laundry room and walk-in pantry all within in a footprint of 125 square feet. The mudroom wish list included a coat closet, shoe storage and a bench, as well as hooks for hats, bags, coats, etc. which we located on its own wall. The opposite wall houses the laundry equipment and sink. The front-loading washer and dryer gave us the opportunity for a folding counter above and helps create a more finished look for the room. The sink is tucked in the corner with a faucet that doubles its utility serving chilled carbonated water with the turn of a dial. The walk-in pantry element of the space is by far the most important for the client. They have a lot of storage needs that could not be completely fulfilled as part of the concurrent kitchen renovation. The function of the pantry had to include a second refrigerator as well as dry food storage and organization for many large serving trays and baskets. To maximize the storage capacity of the small space, we designed the walk-in pantry cabinet in the corner and included deep wall cabinets above following the slope of the ceiling. A library ladder with handrails ensures the upper storage is readily accessible and safe for this older couple to use on a daily basis. A new herringbone tile floor was selected to add varying shades of grey and beige to compliment the faux wood grain laminate cabinet doors. A new skylight brings in needed natural light to keep the space cheerful and inviting. The cookbook shelf adds personality and a shot of color to the otherwise neutral color scheme that was chosen to visually expand the space. Storage for all of its uses is neatly hidden in a beautifully designed compact package!

This project located in Muskoka blends modern sophistication into the natural setting. Due to the adjacent lake and forest environments, a great deal of care was taken to ensure there were no impacts on these sensitive environments. The blast rock was salvaged to create “planting pockets” on the steep slopes allowing for nearly 700 mature trees to be craned into these locations. Working with local arborists, native species of trees and understory planting were selected to ensure ecosystems weren’t negatively impacted. East of the residence, Poolscape Inc. constructed a cast-in-place, vanishing edge pool that was formed to sit above a 1200sqft. underground concrete bunker. The bunker houses the pool equipment & boiler, as-well-as site utility controllers for site irrigation and lighting. Surrounding the pool and wrapping around the residence, extensive concrete slabs were poured and granite tiles laid to create multilevel patios and walkways. Areas of the patios overlooking the lake cantilevered out over the edge of the rock face and required the installation of custom iron and glass railings between stone pillars to provide safety due to the severity of the slope. On the west side of the site, a penetration asphalt sport court surface was suspended atop a 4-car concrete garage, more than 45ft above grade level. Enclosed by chain-link fencing, this elevated “sky-court” offers a stunning setting for recreational play. Working with a local contractor, an existing dock was removed by barge, and a new steel frame was constructed while the lake was frozen. ‘Off-season’ prep-work allowed for seamless continuation of work in the spring when the dock surface, ipe, was installed. Shaped to provide a protected swimming area, the three boat-slip dock is complete with barbecue, built-in umbrella, flush mounted light fixtures, and custom pedestal that provides power and water to boats while docked. To permit easy access between the residence and dock, natural Muskoka granite steps were craned in to create a safe path down the steep slope.
