Travis Custom Homes
General Contractors in Scottsdale
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsMarch 14, 2018
Extensive remodel to add Bedroom, Full Bathroom, and walk-in closet. Post-tension slab, so created some complications to tie-in all the plumbing, but dealing with Travis was effortless. Scheduling was a breeze and were always on time and very professional. We were living in the house during the remodel, the crew was minimized all the construction debris on a daily basis. I enjoyed working with Travis so much that I am going to hire him to build a new custom house.

Brandon and Tim were a pleasure to work with. They repaired our master shower and tub and we could not be happier with the work. If you are having any tile work done, be sure and request Beto. He is meticulous in his work and it is beautiful.

Paul Zimmerman will always be my contractor. Last year, he did a complete demo and remodel in my master bathroom, as well as a 3/4 remodel of my guest bathroom. I didn’t have a clue what to do with my master bathroom shower area and he rattled off several options, each with different variations that would suit my needs. I had had other contractors come in to discuss and give me bids, but none of them had the flexible mind that Paul has, not only with design, but with great money saving ideas. He is also willing to offer his opinions when I ask or when he sees my confusion over what to do. What I had in the master bath was an old shower, probably since 1981, with ugly tiles, impossible to clean, and worst of all, the sliding glass shower door that moved inside a track that easily got filthy and I despised cleaning. My flooring was so plain and ugly, the bugs couldn’t even bear to see it anymore. I also had the same dreary sinks and vanity. My guest bath I was just plain bored of. And I never did like the piping that showed behind the pedestal sink. Again, the drab floor needed a major makeover. Now I have a wonderful tiled wall for the shower. Paul knew just how to lay two rows of decorative tile, between which the large tiles lay in a diagonal pattern; above and below the decorative tile is laid in a straight type of pattern. He also put a little "bench" in the corner. Paul also discovered that he could create an inset for shampoos and soaps, so that is a great use of space. (He really knows how a house is built!) A curtain is not even needed, though I chose to get one anyway. I used the same tile for the flooring. And for the countertop for which I was considering a granite slab, Paul came up with the idea of getting large tiles instead. So my cost went from probably over $1,000 to something like $3.20 for each of 6 tiles. All of my fixtures are now in the oil rubbed bronze that I love, including the shower head which was recommended by Paul. Now in my guest bathroom, I knew I wanted a vessel sink. I looked at so many and found just what I wanted at the place Paul recommended. Found a great vanity, too. I also changed my mirror and lighting to go with my rustic theme. And my flooring says it all with the rustic; I absolutely love the stone. Well as long as I’m remodeling, I figured I’d change out the medicine cabinets and toilets, too. Paul recommended the type of toilet that sits higher than my current one. I love them! And they never fail to come up in comments from my guests!

This was essentially a gut remodel of a 1900 square foot condominium that is a part time residence for us. My wife and I were very concerned about trying to accomplish the renovation remotely from our full time home. Apollo was one of several general contractors that we interviewed, and I spoke personally with several of Tyler Kestner's references before selecting Apollo. Apollo's clients spoke glowingly about working with Tyler, and I am very happy to say that our experience was equally good. Tyler's budget estimates were very accurate, and the quality of the work was excellent. He had practical suggestions for addressing the few issues that inevitably arise, and he communicated regularly regarding the process and its progress. I have a good deal of experience in homebuilding, having flipped homes and built spec homes as a hobby. We were very lucky to have found Apollo to handle this project for us. My wife and I would give Tyler our highest recommendation on quality, responsiveness, and accuracy.

I hired Luxe Showroom Ltd. for two sequential projects: a kitchen remodel and bathroom renovation. I can't say enough about how accomodating they were during both projects. If there was a need for a change or modification they made it happen. Nothing was too much trouble. The kitchen renovation included replacement of all cabinetry, granite countertops, sink, backsplash, and some appliances and electrical work. They came up with a way to creatively re-use some of the existing cabinets and counters as a craft/work bench in the basement, which required some challenging carpentry work. The bathroom renovation was a complete rip out and reinstall. The designer and craftsmen worked with my 16 year old daughter to come up with a modern yet functional design, with totally custom tilework and innovative lighting. They were totally flexible in allowing us to do as much or as little of the sourcing and work as we wanted. Any minor glitches were dealt with promptly and effectively and without controversy.Budget estimates were met, and adjusted fairly if changes were significant. Overall, I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone looking for professional, reliable and creative design and construction services.

Chris Nelson of Peak Construction and Design delivered exactly what I asked him to complete for a project I designed in Palm Desert. Chris is very detail oriented and brought excellent sub contractors to the project. I was impressed with Chris' ability to manage the subs and get the very best work for my Client. There were definitely some delays in our schedule due to material availabilities and design changes on our part, but even with Chris managing multiple projects, he still managed to fit us into his busy schedule and keep the project moving. His thoughtful approach to translating the design details into reality was appreciated and he was a pleasure and a professional to work with from beginning to end. I highly recommend him and his company and look forward to working with him again on future projects.

We had Mikko out to get an estimate to put an addition on our bedroom. We got the plans sent out to us in a very timely manner with a layout that we loved. We started the job shortly after accepting our estimate. From start to finish, the guys showed up on time and put in long days to get our project finished up quick so we could be back in our room. I was expecting the project to be so messy, but was in shock by how clean they left the jobsite at the end of the day. All the employees of Miko, LLC were so friendly and nice to visit with. We felt totally comfortable to leave them in our house while we were away. We are so incredibly happy with how beautiful our new bedroom turned out. It is like a dream. Thank you Miko and team for all your hard work.
