Interior Designers & House Decorators Near Marietta

Some houses arrive with their drama built in. This home in the East Cobb area of Marietta had a soaring two-story great room and a stone fireplace rising its full height, but the rooms around them hadn't yet grown into the architecture. We designed the main living spaces as one connected home, from the foyer and front sitting room through the great room, kitchen, dining room, and living room. Guests are welcomed by a pair of sculptural brass tree-branch chandeliers, their limbs tipped in crystal floral clusters. In the great room, shimmering bronze drapery falls two full stories beside the wall of windows, softening the stone and bringing the volume down to a warm, human scale. We designed the built-ins that flank the fireplace, wrapping each niche in warm wood with navy cabinetry below and brass picture lights above. A pair of emerald velvet armchairs faces a deep sectional across two round glass coffee tables with hand-hammered rims, and the clients' own crystal ring chandelier, rehung so it finally holds the room, glows overhead. In the front sitting room, a green millwork arch of our design wraps the back wall and the built-in drawers below it, while a trio of amber glass ribbon chandeliers hangs at staggered heights. Teal velvet swivel chairs pull up to nesting marble and brass tables, framed by custom patterned drapery over soft sheers. Sculptural gold leaf sconces wash the dining room walls in a warm glow, gold leaf drum pendants light the kitchen island, and a linear chandelier of glass discs floats above the kitchen table. In the living room, a cognac leather sofa and white swivel chairs gather by the fireplace beneath a sculptural brass fixture, with linen drapery hung high to make the room feel taller. Custom drapery tailored to each window ties it all together, with bronze, linen, and patterned fabrics layered over sheers. Brass, gold leaf, crystal, and amber glass carry through the lighting, and velvet, leather, and warm wood soften every room. The home now feels grand where the architecture asks for it and warm everywhere else.

Color, used with conviction, can change a room as much as a renovation. The owners of this East Cobb home in Marietta wanted their main living spaces to feel polished enough to host and easy enough to live in, and we designed the foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, home office, and powder room around that idea. The first hint of glamour comes in the foyer, where a cascade of gem-cut mercury glass pendants falls from a single medallion and fills the two-story space with warm light. In the living room, we designed a pair of arched niches in deep green millwork, lined them with reeded paneling, and styled the shelves with gilded botanical art and fresh florals. An arched mirror above the stone fireplace echoes their shape, and a trio of crystal palm chandeliers sparkles against a custom gold-painted ceiling. A curved cream bouclé sofa, sculptural cloud-shaped gold coffee tables, and emerald velvet drapery over soft sheers complete the room. The dining room centers on a chandelier of long glass drops hung from brass branches, flanked by gold-ground chinoiserie panels, glass sconces, and a gold leaf sideboard. Mustard velvet chairs surround an oval table, an oversized gilded mirror reflects the glow, and geometric cut velvet drapery in copper and rose wraps the corner windows. The kitchen carries the palette at a gentler volume, with a brass tulip pendant over the sink and a tiered gold leaf pendant above the table. The family room relaxes further with a cognac leather sectional and a curved wood console, and the powder room glows beneath a gilded branch fixture blooming with crystal flowers. The materials layer warmth and shimmer throughout: deep green millwork, reeded paneling, and gold-painted ceilings, with crystal, mercury glass, gold leaf, and brass in the lighting. Velvet, bouclé, cut velvet, and leather soften every room. The result is a home that flatters a Saturday dinner party and asks nothing of a Tuesday night.
