Sunroom - large traditional medium tone wood floor and brown floor sunroom idea in Portland Maine with a standard ceiling and no fireplace

Outfitted for entertaining at night, LED up lights bounce light off the Butterfly magnolia, capitata yew and Pan statue, while an under ledge light on the masonry pillar marks the only outside entrance. The entry pad is comprised of Valders Rustic pavers with a stretcher border of Valders planking. The Colorado flagstone patio is likewise bordered.

Our client was drawn to the look of subway tile but wanted just a little something extra. We recommended a beveled subway tile to import a different look with added texture. The result, an ordinary tub/shower fiberglass surround turned extra ordinary by installing 4” x 8” white beveled tile. A beautifully cut sea glass tile border added a pop of color and completed the look. A great idea: we furnished and installed a curved shower rod to create additional space inside the shower for our clients. We typically furnish light/vent combination units in each shower to eliminate moisture. In this particular case, the ceiling light bounces off the beveled tile nicely providing the clean and dramatic feel our client was going for.

Adding something reflective to a space helps to bounce light around. These simple vases work excellently on the hearth without taking away detail from the stone. Abigail Woodman

We created this glorious retreat for our homeowners, who live with 3 kids, 2 giant golden retrievers, and 2 cats. After assessing the Feng Shui and coming up with a design plan, we designed a serene space that encouraged romance and peace. The Carrara marble in the main bathroom is timeless, and really bounces the light around. We used all British faucets, sinks, and a soaking tub, complete with English tub filler. The deal was, the husband got a huge walk-in shower, and his wife got her bathtub. Everyone is happy!

With views of the golf course, the sectional and swivel chairs allow users to watch TV and peer through the windows. K. Rue upgraded the existing stone fireplace with a new wood mantel that compliments with the dark wood flooring. Natural light reaches across the large space to shine on the metal and glass etagere bookcases. The light area rug provides a beautiful contrast to the floor and cushions sound bouncing off hard surfaces.

The existing entry was very dark. Recessed lights were added. Complementing the custom metallic-colored millwork, a wall of glossy white panels bounces light, making the space feel brighter, and hides two 'hidden' doors to a coat closet and a small office closet.

Built in cabinets were added between the fridge and double oven creating the perfect drop zone for groceries as well as a dry bar area to keep friends and family out of the prep zone. Shiny backsplash tile coordinates with the stainless steel appliances as well as bouncing the light around the room.
