The bathtub required careful attention; It was chosen only after our client had an opportunity to sit in it and make sure it was the perfect fit for her! It was placed under existing windows that provide a view of a private garden, with a television built into the perfect viewing spot to relax and catch up on programs.

As you see from this second project, in Oyster Bay, NY, the water doesn’t actually disappear off the edge of the pool, it is captured and recycled. The water is actually clinging to a recess in the pool wall which then drops into a catching pool below. And while this sounds simple enough, it requires a good deal of mastery to design it correctly. An undersized catch pool can almost never be corrected. If the catch pool or basin isn’t large enough there won’t be enough water returning to the main pool and the catch pool will run dry. That can trigger huge water bills because it would have to be constantly refilled to compensate for not having enough room to store water. In addition, during rain falls, the basin could be overwhelmed, leading to it overflowing, or eroding or liquefying the soil behind it. Her requirements included hanging space, laundry basket, shoe storage, a junk drawer, enclosed shelving for laundry/cleaning supplies and general storage, broom closet and a separate drop zone coming in from the garage with wine storage. We were able to compliment the rest of her home's aesthetic with gray shaker cabinets and crown molding, and finished the design with cabinet hardware to match her existing hardware and other brushed nickel accessories.

This property hasn't been updated since the 199o's and was very out-of-date. The client's wish was to keep the rooms light and bright, with a Mid Century, modern twist. This was accomplished with 2 months of prep work and 5 months total for completion. The drab blue carpeting was removed and porcelain hickory honey floors laid throughout, pulling each detail together. The kitchen cabinetry was replaced with driftwood floating shelves and marble countertops. It was kept light and bright with pops of color and an eye catching palm feature wall. Touched off with classic, brass hardware throughout the home, and drop pendant light fixtures. The client was extremely satisfied with the interior design project.
