The refrigerator and pantry are housed in a furniture-like unit creating a hutch-like cabinet that belies its interior with classic styling. Two sinks allow both cooks in the family to work simultaneously. Some glass-fronted cabinets keep the sink wall light and attractive. The Pleasant Beach Shop was designed to complement the main house that had been constructed in the early 2,000’s. The Shop supports a functioning, thriving woodworking business and at the same time is a complimentary neighbor amongst the residential context. The shop is lit by both artificial and natural light through a continuous light monitor along the ridge of the roof. This monitor allows for both height and light when working inside the Shop and acts as a lantern to the forest during the evening.

This bath features a large stand alone Kohler tub, and plentiful use of Calacutta marble. Imaginative use of cabinetry, the complimentary soft grey walls, artwork, and bright feel make it an ideal place for a soak or shower.

Inspiration for a large contemporary curved staircase remodel in San Diego

For this newly-built waterfront home on Long Island’s north shore, Bakes & Kropp designed a modern, transitional kitchen and complimentary bathroom spaces. Led by Senior Kitchen Designer Mary Dimichino, the design team drew inspiration from the peaceful water vista framed by the kitchen windows. The result is an open, airy space with clean lines and a soothing mixture of white and walnut finishes tempered by polished metal accents.

The project we recently completed was contracted by one of our long time partners in Design- Debbie Davis at Studio Design. The island measures at 85x45, material is 3cm Patagonia Granite from Galleria of Stone. The edge is built up to a flat 3” miter all around. The stone has a large amount of natural quartz stone throughout the slab, and this quartz is translucent. We built a special board of LED panels to place underneath to enhance the area where the quartz passes the light through. The perimeter is 3cm Listra from Penta Quartz, it is a solid quartz color that does not compete but is rather a complimentary to the Patagonia slab on the island. Timothy J Gormley
