The overall aesthetic of this kitchen, prior to being remodeled, was dated, dark and un inviting. We decided to change all of that by removing the wall that separated the rooms, opening the kitchen to the living and dining space and also to the wonderful view of the city. Custom cabinets, brass overhead shelving, Ceaserstone countertops along with many additional custom features were added to really lighten the space making it more entertainment and family friendly!

Thanks to its open structure and simple design, the Slender bookcase set was the perfect element to optimise space without forgetting the decorative touch. The combination of the black iron structure with six shelves results in an elegant look. Ideal in more minimalist environments, it can be used as an individual model or as a set.

Looking for a peaceful retirement spot, these clients chose Poipu Crater for it’s coastal location and lush surroundings. Their love of bright, clear jewel tones inspired the direction for this remodel project. Choosing the main area rug was important, as it set the tone for the rest of the house. The rug is dramatic, with it’s overscaled floral in bright, happy hues, and brings a smile to the owner’s faces each time they walk into the room. Tropical botanical artwork is seen throughout the rooms, including some pieces by Kauai’s own Robin McCoy. Gorgeous fabrics also infuse the home with vibrant shades. This colorful palette is showcased with a neutral backdrop of textural finishes such as the whitewashed oak flooring, pebble stone bath flooring, and overscale white subway tiles in the showers. Metal finishes in brushed golds and dark bronze bring a richness and warmth to the scheme. The full kitchen redesign allows for better functionality while adding drama with height and scale. The stunning glass herringbone backsplash is a work of art in it’s own right and adds an element of surprise when you first enter the home. Textural “rock candy” glass pendant lights and crisp, white shaker cabinets make this room sparkle! To help with the desired clean and uncluttered look, storage was carefully planned in this home, and special details such as pop-out outlets above the night stands were added to keep things organized and to optimize functionality. This colorful, tropical oasis will be enjoyed for many years to come!

As part of a partnership with atgstores and decorist to design a home office in a Seattle show house, our goal was to create an eclectic and lived-in feel for the homeowners. Since the office is situated in a central part of the home, open to the double-volume space and with prime views of the downtown Seattle waterfront, we wanted to keep the palette fairly neutral. We filled this neutral palette with personality and character, creating great contrast and layering on lots of texture. We fearlessly mixed metals for added flair, incorporated amazing lighting to create mood and ambience, and brought in a graphic wall covering for heightened style. With the existing built-ins remaining, we applied our firm’s Splendid Living approach to create functional style and an open office feel by optimizing storage, giving the whole unit an upgrade with a fresh coat of paint and then adding Pulp Home hardware. The result is a functional home office that exudes fearless style.

In the kitchen, we opted for floor-to-ceiling cabinetry to maximize storage while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic. We used two different cabinet colors to break up the space and add visual interest, avoiding a monolithic look. For the backsplash, we chose a tone-on-tone ombre tile in gray, creating a subtle yet dramatic effect that draws the eye upward to the tall ceilings.

A rear yard that lends itself quite well to entertaining from intimate gatherings to large occasions. A covered, four seasons spa with a gas fireplace and water feature add luxury and elegance that can be enjoyed year round while the balance of this private garden was optimized for storage, dining and lounging while still maintaining a classic green and white garden vibe.

The "Magnolia Retreat Lounge Deck" was transformed into a tranquil oasis by Chicago Roof Deck and Garden, who worked closely with the client to optimize the space behind a typical Chicago house and above the garage. The goal was to create a serene atmosphere while keeping maintenance to a minimum.
The project included the installation of a shade structure, outdoor furniture on the deck, and a stunning barbecue area complete with faux green walls and synthetic grass. Chicago Roof Deck and Garden paid attention to every detail, ensuring that the end result was both functional and beautiful.

We designed an extended patio cover to include a Fire Feature with additional seating and dining room for our client’s lovely stucco home.
Projecting outward at an obtuse angle, the entertaining patio provides ample seating options for many to gather around the wood-burning fireplace. This 42” stainless steel fireplace includes a gas log lighter for added convenience! Attention-drawing, it also features an extended hearth.
The client requested an Extensive Electrical package including a 50” HDTV mounted above the fireplace with Bose Flushmount Sound System to provide optimal sound throughout the outdoor living room. Recessed lighting, nestled in the elegant Tongue and Groove ceiling, illuminates the patio while the flood lights on the surrounding exterior highlight the Complete Landscaping package in the lawn.
Completing this outdoor living room, stamped concrete perfects this space with a beautiful, bright pattern to complement the existing stucco finishes. Though this project is an add-on, the stucco texture, paint, and trim look utterly original to the home!

Custom walk in closets were designed by Studioteka for the primary bedroom and guest bedroom, and a custom laundry room was also designed for the space with a side-by-side configuration and folding, hanging, and storage space above and on either side. The team measured the number of linear feet of different types of hanging (long vs. short) as well as optimizing storage for jewelry, shoes, purses, and other items. Our custom pull detail can be found on all the drawers, bringing a seamless, clean, and organized look to the space.

THE SETUP
The original L-shaped guest bathroom, primarily utilized by the client’s young nephews, presented several design challenges. The entry door’s placement at the top of the stairs created an awkward flow, while the lack of natural light and the sectioned-off toilet and shower area contributed to a cramped and dimly lit ambiance.
Design Objectives:
Reconfigure the floor plan to improve guest access and circulation
Create a versatile space that accommodates both young guests and adult needs
Introduce natural light to brighten the overall ambiance
Incorporate a tub/shower combination suitable for children while meeting adult requirements
Design Challenges:
Relocating the entry door to a more functional position
Finding an optimal layout to open up the entire bathroom as a unified space
Maximizing natural light and creating a bright, inviting atmosphere
Updating the tub/shower area with a refreshed look while ensuring child-friendly features
THE RENEWED SPACE
Design Solutions:
Reconfigured floor plan with the entry door relocated to the main hallway for seamless guest access
Removal of the dividing wall separating the toilet and tub/shower area, enabling an open, spacious layout
Strategic placement of a window to flood the space with natural light. Also – careful selection of materials and finishes contributing to the bright and airy aesthetic
Inclusion of a handheld showerhead serving as a lower shower option for young guests
The new floor plan and the introduction of natural light have transformed this guest bathroom into a radiant, welcoming space. The dual vanity sinks and tall storage cabinet cater to versatile needs, while the terracotta floor tiles harmonize beautifully with the overall design, adding warmth and style. The decision to keep a shower curtain for the tub/shower combination enhances the open and airy feel. Thoughtful details, such as the gear-inspired faucet handles and complementary light fixtures above the mirrors, add a touch of edgy sophistication to this multifunctional guest retreat.

" The project involved removing a section of the load-bearing wall to open up the kitchen and adding a stylish island for additional functionality. We installed new countertops and cabinets, offering a wide range of elegant materials. A dedicated pantry area was also included to optimize storage. The end result was a beautiful and efficient kitchen that exceeded the homeowner's expectations.
