In its 34th consecutive year hosting the Street of Dreams, the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland decided to do something different. They went urban – into the Pearl District. Each year designers clamor for the opportunity to design and style a home in the Street of Dreams. Apparently the allure of designing in contemporary penthouses with cascading views was irresistible to many, because the HBA experienced record interest from the design community at large in 2009. It was an honor to be one of seven designers selected. “The Luster of the Pearl” combined the allure of clean lines and redefined traditional silhouettes with texture and opulence. The color palette was fashion-inspired with unexpected color combinations like smoky violet and tiger-eye gold backed with metallic and warm neutrals. Our design included cosmetic reconstruction of the fireplace, mosaic tile improvements to the kitchen, artistic custom wall finishes and introduced new materials to the Portland market. The process was a whirlwind of early mornings, late nights and weekends. “With an extremely short timeline with large demands, this Street of Dreams challenged me in extraordinary ways that made me a better project manager, communicator, designer and partner to my vendors.” This project won the People’s Choice Award for Best Master Suite at the Northwest Natural 2009 Street of Dreams. SLDarch: Just 120 miles south of Barcelona lies the tranquil Mediterranean Island of Majorca. Here, on a gentle wooded slope with mountain, forest and sea views, we have carefully situated a modernist 675sm (7,265sf) vacation villa, presenting a formal geometric facade, angularly framing the Main Entry door and double grand waterfalls. The showpiece here is the massive bronze art-glass entry door where we have applied a rich red-leather 'picture frame' wrap on the structural surround. Step through the heavy bronze and leather pivot door into the two-story atrium / living room wrapped by the upper bedroom bridge walk- throw open the massive sliding glass window walls and open the house directly to the shimmering blue swimming pool and patio. Below grade is a finished basement lounge, with exercise spa and fully equipped service bar with huge window looking underwater into the pool, plus a game room and 8 person theater. At this level is also the 5 car garage parking.

This gorgeous Georgian home is complimented by its grand backyard complete with a custom concrete 15 x 25 ft Gib-San pool. Interior finish is a custom blue Pebble Fina with shimmering seas and a pearlized cream mosaic tile. Three laminars and three sheers are illuminated by multiple LED lights within the pool for ultimate enjoyment all day and evening. A specialized floating auto-cover helps to keep leaves out of the pool on this ravine setting when the pool is not in use. A true slice of paradise!

After building 2 other pools for this wonderful client, this property was in need of something special! A Perimeter overflow infinity pool & spa, with automated Water & fire features! Stunning glass tile sets the tone for entertainment and something for us all to be proud of!

The master bathroom was accentuated with a large & luxurious teak walk-in shower which includes a custom bench by Jonathon Scianna, offering a spa-like feel. The bathtub was replaced to have a chic, elongated tile surround and built-in recessed teak niche. The final touch on the new tub comes from the mini recessed LED lights above, illuminating the area and adding a special feel to the space. We also installed a brand new floating double vanity with trendy wall mount faucets with a teak backsplash and teak framed mirrors, which look lovely against the metallic shimmer of the wall color. Additional features for the master bathroom include a new toilet, new floor, new barn door/mirror with Haffel Hardware, and a large linen closet with adjustable shelves. Designed by Chi Renovation & Design who also serve the Chicagoland area and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. You'll find their work from the Loop through Lincoln Park, Evanston, Skokie, Humboldt Park, Wilmette, and all the way up to Lake Forest.

Metallic iridescent wax over gold provide a gorgeous changing color chameleon effect on a girls' bedroom walls. Colors change when viewed from different sides & light (mother of pearl, gold, purple, pink, soft green). This finish is hand troweled, very durable and easy to clean!

The KOKET bedroom suite is designed as the perfect bedroom set. The airy bedroom features the Kelly bed, covered in an indulgent lazer rabbit throw, skirted by two Art Deco Tamara nightstands. The nightstands are topped with two pink Gem table lamps for an ambient glow, and an Eternity sculpture hangs nearby shimmering in the soft light. At the end of the bed sit two black and gold Mandy stools, completing this gorgeous bedroom set.

The design evolved around the discovery of a spectacular statement quartzite stone, an art piece in its own right. It features brushstrokes of jade green veining and shimmering golden highlights on a chalky crystalline bed.
