"I worked with Forma to completely furnish and decorate my condo. The results were amazing. I strongly recommend them. David I"
Wentworth, Inc.

"Our kitchen and family room renovation was not our first construction project, having done 3 other major projects and built a house long-distance. We started this project with another design-build firm that has an excellent reputation in Washington, DC area, but we quickly severed that relationship--and walked away from our deposit--because neither the design nor the communication was what we wanted. The decision to change firms and start over ended up being a great decision. So we began interviewing--again. This time we hit the jackpot with Bruce Wentworth of Wentworth Inc. His three design proposals were inspired and gave us all of our wish list: walk-in pantry, no upper cabinets over the work areas (but lots of storage), large island, butler's pantry, clutter-free paper storage system, more open kitchen/family room, and overall a kitchen and family room that are a better fit for our 1926 house. We also had lots of little things that we wanted such as no outlets on the backsplash--no easy feat in those areas where we had no upper cabinets--and custom-designed pantry shelves, but they solved each item on my wish list, brilliantly. Before the construction began, we had a meeting so that we knew what to expect. Did any surprises arise? Of course they did--this is a house built in 1926! However, all those surprises were solved seamlessly by the design-build team. Any time I had a question or needed design advice, I was totally comfortable calling the architects and or talking with the lead carpenter, depending on what the question was. In addition, one of the architects went with me on all shopping trips to pick out, for instance, the countertops, the sink, the tile for the backsplash, the faucet, etc. Never was I sent to a showroom on my own. Sometimes, the architects had assembled the samples for me at their office and I made my decisions there. What an easy process that was, especially since the architects had already narrowed down the choices for me. All of the team members were professional, friendly, and as detail-oriented as I am. Oh, did I mention that the project was on budget AND on time? And the final result? Beyond our wildest dreams--everyone who walks in says it looks exactly like us, fits the house, and is gorgeous. Would I hire Wentworth again? Absolutely."
COLEPREVOST

June 25, 2013
"Our home has timeless beauty and comfort due to the expert design and craftsmanship of Cole-Prevost. Each day we appreciate the integrity of the design. Robert and Sophie had a unique ability to discern our taste and needs and cast this in an intelligent and architecturally pleasing form. Their synergy with the contractor was exceptional, so that their concept was beautifully achieved in the final result. It was our great pleasure to work with them - we continue to think this today, thirteen years later."

"I have been working with Bennett Frank McCarthy Architects since April of this year on my home renovation in Mahwah NJ and I can say first hand that I couldnt be happier with what Shawn and the team there have brought to the table. I initially found BFM Architects on Houzz from their Modernized Split Foyer project. I had spoken to several architects both locally here in NY & NJ as well as some west coast firms and none of them gave me the level of comfort and different approach to a renovation that Shawn Buehler and BFM gave me. From minute one my project was never about how to get me to spend more money upping my budget in order to increase fees rather it was finding out ecactly what i needed from my house and figuring out ways in which we could make minimal changes and get maximum impact from them. The design process was smooth and the constant communication Shawn provided was key throughout the process. From design to construction documents and throughout the permit processing and construction observation they have been top notch making my life much easier. Currently the demo on my house is finished and we are in the framing process but once its srtats to come back together i will post pictures and more feedback... but if you are loooking for an architect to help you with a new home or a renovation i wouldnt hesitate to call Shawn and BFM."

"As an architectural photographer, I have known and worked for Amy Gardner of Gardner Mohr Architects for more than five years. She is one of a group of architects that is thinking about the future and how she can utilize her generous talents to make better more sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings. I have found her designs to be invigorating. The spaces eminently functional and her designs to utilize the available light and air flow to be of equal magnitude. In short, the spaces and buildings are livable, functional, breathing spaces that are simply exiting and fun to be in. It has always been my pleasure to photograph these spaces and to convey with a photograph what Gardner Mohr Architects have created."

"As a residential remodeler, we've collaborated with many architecture and design firms. We have found very few to be as knowledgeable and understanding of the design and construction process as Studio Crowley Hall. We've found their experience and understanding of local structures, as well as their understanding of the zoning and permit process to be very helpful during the build process. In witnessing their relationships with their clients, they seem to develop a strong rapport with their clients, and are very collaborative when it comes to anticipating problems and developing solutions."
Hamilton Snowber Architects

"Our 1920's Cleveland park home was substantially damaged in a fire, and we suddenly needed to rethink how to rebuild. Hamilton Snowber did a fabulous job (1) quickly helping us re-think the floor plan, (2) right-sizing an addition, and (3) detailing the whole-house renovation. The results are spectacular: a modern interior 'flow' with traditional detailing, lots of light and great views to the yard, all within the existing historic shell. I can point to many areas where, without their thoughtful guidance, we might have made poor decisions, had we been just working with a contractor. My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with the results."
Cunningham | Quill Architects
Washington, DC Architects and Building Designers

"I write very few reviews but the service I received from Cunningham | Quill Architects was so extraordinary that I feel compelled to share my experience. Ralph and his team worked with my family for almost two years to create our dream home. Through dozens and dozens of meetings, every member of the Cunningham | Quill team guided, listen and applied their remarkable talents to crafting our rough concepts into the most extraordinary residence. Every detail we ever imagined and many many more that we could not have dreamt of were flawlessly crafted by this team into a place that we hope to call home for the rest of our lives. Ralph oversaw the entire project from beginning to end and added his unique creativity throughout the process of creating the plans and then, on a weekly basis, through the 14 month construction. Cunningham | Quill were on site, every week, working in lock step with the GC to make sure that what we'd seen on paper was exactly what was built. The job was extensive, lengthy and complicated and Ralph delivered every step of the way with professionalism and innovation. When there were questions about billings, he was reasonable and always cared most about pleasing us, his clients. I recommend Cunningham | Quill unequivocally."
Patrick Brian Jones PLLC
Washington, DC Architects and Building Designers
February 17, 2016
"Patrick rejuvenated our apartment, redesigning 3 bathrooms and the kitchen/living/dining area, inventing built-in shelving for art, and sharpening details in every other room. He found and supervised the contractor, helped select new furniture, and remained on call after it was finished to help with art placement. The construction took place approximately April to August 2013. Patrick listened to us describe the problems we wanted fixed in our original apartment, which had great bones but was clothed in developers' standard materials with odd dimensions and wasted space everywhere. He had smart ideas and was able to show us clearly via drawings and by standing in the space what he meant and what it would look like. Almost always he came up with at least 3 alternatives. He gave us multiple ideas for color schemes and materials, but as part of a palette and overall look-and-feel, not bit by bit. He did it with an eye on being reasonable about the cost, which allowed us to do more than we had thought would be possible. Patrick combines a great design aesthetic with a real understanding of what it takes to get a project done. His command of sleek modern urban lines and materials is of the moment and pushes a little further. His use of wood, metal, concrete, lighting, and colors is delectable to the eye. Occasionally the schedule for our project dragged a bit, but that was a minor issue in the end. Everything was done to a superior standard within a reasonable time frame. We were patient when needed, and it paid off as Patrick really came through with a fantastic rejuvenation of our space that takes my breath away every morning, even now, over two years after it was completed. Patrick did a sensational job. I recommend him without reservation. I sing Patrick's praises! I am always on the lookout for other projects I could do with him. The result was featured in Home & Design, Spring 2015, pp 140-147, which I have attached."
Ossolinski Architects, PLLC
Washington, DC Architects and Building Designers
December 7, 2012
"Over a few years, Ossolinski Architects renovated our entire four-story house. Matt Ossolinski has a wonderful eye for seeing the possibilities of the space. He and his firm are very professional. The budget was right on target. They worked with our contractor well. The projects were completed on time, and Ossolinski Architects worked with us throughout all of the projects dealing quickly and competently with things that came up which happens in an old home and assisting the contractor when necessary. The firm first sat down with my husband and me to find out how we used the house and how we wanted it to function. They certainly made suggestions, as they understood the space better and the need to have the space continue to function as our family grew. They did not, however, insist upon "making their statement", but instead truly listened to what we wanted and needed. I highly recommend Ossolinski Architects."
