After putting in a new swimming pool, our client’s main goal was to create a functional outdoor living space that would accommodate friends and family and satisfy their need for entertaining large groups of people. Progressive Design Build designed a solution that started with a large covered patio and seating area. The renovation focused on building a grilling station that included a curved granite countertop with an area for seating at the end of the cabinet run; and a large grill and hood vent, which allowed for an adequate cooking surface area to accommodate any occasion. We matched the existing brick pavers from an existing area of the home to create a cohesive look and maintain the rustic feel of the backyard. The cabinets were built out of Cypress and stained to match the finish of the newly installed wood patio ceiling. We were also able to supply and install a new fire pit so this family could enjoy the beautiful Florida sunsets with friends and family—the ones we Southwest Florida residents have the privilege of experiencing and enjoying throughout the year.

The Atwater's Powder Room is a stylish and contemporary space with a clean and minimalist design. The room features a white quartz countertop that adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. The white walls create a fresh and bright ambiance, while the black backsplash adds a bold and contrasting element to the room. Client started a new fresh attitude lifestyle in a River Forest condo. Space was opened up; soffits were removed allowing cabinetry and crown detail to be taken all the way to the ceiling. All the walls and the water heater closet were removed. WE have an issue with the water heater closet which was inside the kitchen. To keep adequate hot water available, we had to retain a certain size. We put this inside of a pantry microwave cabinet, customizing the fit. We added glass to two of the wall cabinetry to add some extra charm to this now open concept entertaining space. All of the appliances were updated. The Zephyr hood added great style and function. Client actually cooks and entertains. Having the larger, corner shaped island has become a center for quests as well as cooking work space. The entire floor was redone, windows, and doors replaced. All new lighting added among many other details were updated. This is now a delightful transitional living space perfect for living to the fullest.

The client wanted to have an uncluttered, highly functional, and very bright kitchen with a classic and timeless style. We created the plans with a lengthened counter reaching all the way to where the microwave tower was previously positioned. She now has a much larger food prep working surface. We also re-configured her walk-in food pantry with retractable shelves and adequate lighting. We recommended the colour palette, the custom cabinetry design and finish, the low-maintenance Quartz counters, and roomy commercial-style stainless steel sink. The client is very happy and very motivated to cook for herself and her friends! This kitchen had not been renovated since the salt box colonial house was built in the 1960’s. The new owner felt it was time for a complete refresh with some traditional details and adding in the owner’s contemporary tastes. At initial observation, we determined the house had good bones; including high ceilings and abundant natural light from a double-hung window and three skylights overhead recently installed by our client. Mixing the homeowners desires required the skillful eyes of Cathy and Ed from Renovisions. The original kitchen had dark stained, worn cabinets, in-adequate lighting and a non-functional coat closet off the kitchen space. In order to achieve a true transitional look, Renovisions incorporated classic details with subtle, simple and cleaner line touches. For example, the backsplash mix of honed and polished 2” x 3” stone-look subway tile is outlined in brushed stainless steel strips creating an edgy feel, especially at the niche above the range. Removing the existing wall that shared the coat closet opened up the kitchen to allow adding an island for seating and entertaining guests. We chose natural maple, shaker style flat panel cabinetry with longer stainless steel pulls instead of knobs, keeping in line with the clients desire for a sleeker design. This kitchen had to be gutted to accommodate the new layout featuring an island with pull-out trash and recycling and deeper drawers for utensils. Spatial constraints were top of mind and incorporating a convection microwave above the slide-in range made the most sense. Our client was thrilled with the ability to bake, broil and microwave from GE’s advantium oven – how convenient! A custom pull-out cabinet was built for his extensive array of spices and oils. The sink base cabinet provides plenty of area for the large rectangular stainless steel sink, single-lever multi-sprayer faucet and matching filtered water dispenser faucet. The natural, yet sleek green soapstone countertop with distinct white veining created a dynamic visual and principal focal point for the now open space. While oak wood flooring existed in the entire first floor, as an added element of color and interest we installed multi-color slate-look porcelain tiles in the kitchen area. We also installed a fully programmable floor heating system for those chilly New England days. Overall, out client was thrilled with his Mission Transition.

The house itself was intended to nestle neatly into the 45 degree sloped site and to take full advantage of the limited solar access and views. The views range from short, highly wooded views to a long corridor out towards the Uinta Mountain range towards the east. The house was designed and built based off Passiv Haus standards, and the framing and ventilation became critical elements to maintain such minimal energy requirements. We opened up the space removed closets, walls and added windows. we gave this kitchen the ultimate appliance package two Bosch dishwashers, Fisher & Paykel Single Drawer Multi-Temperature Refrigerator/Freezer , 36" Thermador Range top, Sharpe Built In microwave. The plumbing Finish was done in Polished Nickel to match the hardware and light fixtures. The floor was done with European Oak with All Natural Hard-Wax Oil. This beautiful wood texture is coarse and characterized by open pores. The Counter tops from Caesarstone and to bring out the color in the wood floor we used a 4" X 12 " Marble Subway tile from Walker Zanger.

In their third remodel with us, this young family wanted to update their craftsman bungalow kitchen. The existing kitchen already opened up into the dining room from one of our previous renovations. However, the kitchen still lacked adequate counter space and attractive, functional storage. This project started with an aesthetic compromise– he wanted a stainless steel kitchen, she wanted a more traditional style. The final result has modern lines and smooth surfaces, combined with natural variation and texture. Handmade ceramic tiles from North Prairie Tile add a touch of rustic warmth. The rift-sawn white-oak has a more subdued pattern than the usual plain sawn oak. Before the renovation, a free standing island added storage and counter space to the kitchen. This design added a built-in version of this makeshift solution. The new transitional cabinet is custom built to match the existing buffet in the dining room, and keeps dishes and tools out of sight. A continuous London Grey granite counter top provides enough work space to make cooking and entertaining easy.
