Kitchen - traditional u-shaped dark wood floor kitchen idea in San Francisco with shaker cabinets, white cabinets, white backsplash and subway tile backsplash

The shape of the angled porch-roof, sets the tone for a truly modern entryway. This protective covering makes a dramatic statement, as it hovers over the front door. The blue-stone terrace conveys even more interest, as it gradually moves upward, morphing into steps, until it reaches the porch. Porch Detail The multicolored tan stone, used for the risers and retaining walls, is proportionally carried around the base of the house. Horizontal sustainable-fiber cement board replaces the original vertical wood siding, and widens the appearance of the facade. The color scheme — blue-grey siding, cherry-wood door and roof underside, and varied shades of tan and blue stone — is complimented by the crisp-contrasting black accents of the thin-round metal columns, railing, window sashes, and the roof fascia board and gutters. This project is a stunning example of an exterior, that is both asymmetrical and symmetrical. Prior to the renovation, the house had a bland 1970s exterior. A young family moving from NYC tackled a lightning fast makeover of their new colonial revival home before the arrival of their second child. The kitchen area was quite spacious but needed a facelift and new layout. Painted cabinetry matched to Benjamin Moore’s Light Pewter is balanced by grey glazed rift oak cabinetry on the island. Shiplap paneling on the island and cabinet lend a slightly contemporary edge. White bronze hardware by Schaub & Co. in a contemporary bar shape offer clean lines with some texture in a warm metallic tone. White Marble countertops in “Alpine Mist” create a harmonious color palette while the pale blue/grey Waterworks backsplash adds a touch of color. Keri Murray Architecture presents an aging-in-place living room design that balances accessibility and comfort, offering a cozy, functional space for long-term living

Kathy and Steve recently downsized to this Corvallis home and came to us looking to bring personality to their new space. They were drawn to vibrant and contrasting features, and liked elements of their previous Traditional-styled home but were excited about incorporating modern components while keeping functionality at the forefront of the design. The floor plan of the Kitchen required multiple design iterations to find the perfect fit, as the original house did not offer any connection between spaces, and the ability to entertain guests was a key goal. The final design features a thoughtful mix of straight and curved lines, as well as contrasting patterns and colors. Our designer incorporated functional design elements, such as easy-access drawers for the base cabinets, accessible storage from the backside of the peninsula, a tower cabinet that sits on the Vanity, a hot tub cover with access from the Master Bedroom, and more. This home has been transformed into a fun, functional, and comfortable oasis for Aging in Place.

This guest bathroom shower offers a stunning mix of contrast and cohesion. Vertical glossy tiles in white and black create a dramatic, modern palette, while the clean, staggered layout adds visual rhythm. Brushed brass fixtures—including a sleek handheld mount, modern control valves, and dual grab bars—introduce warmth and elegance. A recessed niche with soft integrated lighting provides practical storage and a gentle glow. The result is a guest shower that feels bold, polished, and thoughtfully designed—balancing accessibility, luxury, and contemporary style.

Laura and Boone Parrett created a reclaimed wood wall feature in their bedroom using salvage barn siding. It commingles a clean modern look with a touch of rusticity.
