As cherry continues to make a comeback, we show how classic is far from a dirty word. This kitchen used to be closed off and non-functional. With the help of our award-winning designer, Tracy West, it is now open, and has the perfect work triangle. By removing the wall that previously separated the kitchen and breakfast nook, the homeowners were able to relocate their refrigerator and add an island. The natural tones and textures in this kitchen make it feel inviting and clean and demonstrate that cherry can still add personality and dimension in a completely updated (and still timeless) way. Inspired by a trellis, we wanted to bring the outdoors into the entry. With three types of wood stains, the entry boasts many shades of brown, demonstrating the depth of the wood. With inspiration from an existing architecturally salvaged door, this entry really added interest to what was previously just a door.

A close up of the stunning Celerie Kemble dining table demonstrates the attention to detail as metallic tones are repeated in the table vases, floor lamp, and bamboo triptych in the background. This beautiful room began with great bones and was inspired by the lucite chandelier...a gift from the client's grandmother. Color cues and graphic inspiration from the fixture informed the hide rug selection, embroidered and sequined linen drapery and lucite rod, and the geometric Palecek fossil shell coffee table

Some shapes have been cherished by many generations. They demonstrate handcrafting, beauty and classic design that purposely overstep traditional boundaries. ALNOPOL is lacquered in high gloss with a prime coat and top coat. This elaborate technique creates a brilliant shine.

Small does not sacrifice style in this contemporary kitchen remodel. Demonstrating that spaciousness is in the eye of the beholder. Stainless steel and white both reflect light – which make this space appear not only sleek, but larger and more open. A well disguised doorway to the lower level is cleverly hidden behind a rustic barn door to save space and add design impact. The custom paneling found along the walls is warm brown with a silver finish. The cork floor, one of the many acoustic features of the building, help control the sound, since multiple events could be taking place. Other features in the dining room include a gas fireplace, a wet bar and a wine cooler.

In a unique attic space conversion, Glassolutions installed a frameless shower enclosure that maximized the available area while maintaining a modern and open feel. This custom project involved fitting the frameless enclosure perfectly into the attic's dimensions, demonstrating our ability to provide innovative solutions for challenging spaces. The result was a stylish and functional addition to the attic suite.

Hygge – pronounced "hoo-ga" – is coziness. A way of living that emphasizes the importance of simplicity and unwinding. It's hospitality and warmth. But at DIRTT, it also means a living lab. This Toronto courtyard landscape design is thoughtfully curated to support quiet mornings, mindful reflection, and fireside gatherings, with uninterrupted views to a plunge pool nestled below a covered porch. The building was in poor condition and required a complete overhaul, as well as a new addition to house the commercial kitchen and dining room. The Looms’ design team of Liz Winship and Mary Beth Ferro were brought in early on in the process to work closely with the architects and contractors to collaborate in designing a space that would blend the historic integrity of the period building and the neighborhood with the practical, code-driven requirements of a multi-functional commercial space. The “look” was to be inspired by Nantucket’s unique land and seascape, while also feeling a little “on trend” and contemporary.

Renovation of this remarkable 1936 Monte Copper Tudor demonstrates how we sensitively transform historic homes to beautifully perform in contemporary life. The challenge was to connect first floor spaces, including the kitchen; dining room; and a lower family room added in a previous addition. The family room received thoughtful and appropriate detailing along with a graceful and functional two-sided bar element linking it with the kitchen. The kitchen was expanded and reimagined with a seamless addition. Diagonal views and openings allow all the rooms to function as a connected whole.
