The plain wall mounted towel rack is a brilliant addition in the bathroom, especially where small space is a concern. The wall-mounted rack helps in keeping the floor clean that facilitates better maintenance too. The rack is in iron that assures both strength and longevity.

The architect was the client and called wanting a little help facilitating harmony between his wife and himself. The three of us found a happy union! While seeking tile, he discovered Anna Cabo's glass tile and we ran with it. I helped navigate choosing granite and a plaster color that melded all the beautiful hues in Anna's tile.

For this project, we were hired to demo out a concrete patio and gravel area and install beautiful pavers for a great outdoor environment. This family is involved with the Boy Scouts so we installed a fire pit to facilitate great group gatherings. We also noticed they had an outdoor chess set that was sitting on a vinyl board so we recommended built a chess set into the paver patio to give a much nicer, long-lasting solution.

The parkway was designed to provide areas of hardscape where car passengers need to climb in/out. The plant selection is purposely kept low in height so as to facilitate foot traffic, maneuvering cars, and cannot impede car doors.

For this project, we designed a pergola with a metal roof. The interior of the pergola is spacious enough at 20′ x 15′ to facilitate a changing area covered in cedar slats at one end. In addition, the addition serves as the perfect spot for the homeowner’s to store pool supplies when not in use.

Inspiration for a 1960s gray floor front door remodel in Portland with white walls and a black front door

KITCHEN REDEFINED One of the biggest constraints the home owners had was the kitchen's size and layout. By demolishing the poorly designed 'bonus room', Lean Lens Architects was able to create space for a well sized and laid out kitchen.A large island now facilitates entertaining while plentiful storage along the walls creates a perfect background while being functional. The clients picked beautiful finishes to complete the design.

Van Auken Akins Architects LLC designed and facilitated the renovation of the master bedroom and bath of a Moreland Hills home. The master bedroom was outfitted with new wall coverings, carpeting, lighting and window treatments. In the master bath, new cabinetry, countertops, lighting and carpet were installed. A new entertainment cabinet in the living room was designed as well.

Simple, classic and clean, white shaker cabinets are a timeless kitchen design. Double door ovens and plenty of cabinet space facilitate cooking preparation. The open and expansive kitchen layout is perfect for entertainment purposes.

A dramatic yet challenging sloped site gave way to a stepped house design. The grade change facilitated that the garage align with the basement level and connected via a indoor link with the rest of the house being a floor higher. With the house set into the hill it gives two very different impressions from the public front to the private back of house while also providing for great views and natural light.
