Forget just one room with a view—Lochley has almost an entire house dedicated to capturing nature’s best views and vistas. Make the most of a waterside or lakefront lot in this economical yet elegant floor plan, which was tailored to fit a narrow lot and has more than 1,600 square feet of main floor living space as well as almost as much on its upper and lower levels. A dovecote over the garage, multiple peaks and interesting roof lines greet guests at the street side, where a pergola over the front door provides a warm welcome and fitting intro to the interesting design. Other exterior features include trusses and transoms over multiple windows, siding, shutters and stone accents throughout the home’s three stories. The water side includes a lower-level walkout, a lower patio, an upper enclosed porch and walls of windows, all designed to take full advantage of the sun-filled site. The floor plan is all about relaxation – the kitchen includes an oversized island designed for gathering family and friends, a u-shaped butler’s pantry with a convenient second sink, while the nearby great room has built-ins and a central natural fireplace. Distinctive details include decorative wood beams in the living and kitchen areas, a dining area with sloped ceiling and decorative trusses and built-in window seat, and another window seat with built-in storage in the den, perfect for relaxing or using as a home office. A first-floor laundry and space for future elevator make it as convenient as attractive. Upstairs, an additional 1,200 square feet of living space include a master bedroom suite with a sloped 13-foot ceiling with decorative trusses and a corner natural fireplace, a master bath with two sinks and a large walk-in closet with built-in bench near the window. Also included is are two additional bedrooms and access to a third-floor loft, which could functions as a third bedroom if needed. Two more bedrooms with walk-in closets and a bath are found in the 1,300-square foot lower level, which also includes a secondary kitchen with bar, a fitness room overlooking the lake, a recreation/family room with built-in TV and a wine bar perfect for toasting the beautiful view beyond.

This Riverdale bathroom in Toronto was a major undertaking. Prior to demolition there were several platforms noticed and upon removal it was discovered that most of the plumbing was not to code and needed a major overhaul. The same layout was utilized, but with the exception of making the shower smaller to build a larger closet in the bedroom. The bathroom design involved many contemporary elements included in the straight inlay tile design on the floor and the quartz products used in the shower, tub, and vanity top. The space includes a drop in tub, glass enclosure, and heated Ditra Heat floor.

We built this clean, modern entertainment center for a customer. The clean-lined, industrial feel is softened with the light tone of the wood we matched to color of the main beam in the ceiling.

The house is lovely a midcentury ranch set on a sprawling lot. They had saved some photos to Pinterest as inspiration as a starting point so we set out to put all those pieces together. Notice all the wasted space in the hallway by the closet in the before picture? Well, we decided to incorporate that area into the bathroom itself so that we could have extra room for cabinets as well as the light and view from the window to the great outdoors. We mixed metals — chrome fixtures and lighting and black hardware and mirrors. We kept the rest of the materials neutral since it’s a smaller space. The homeowners needed storage, so we did a double vanity with a linen cabinet at one end. We installed an acrylic tub with simple white subway tile and a storage niche for shampoo. The end result is fresh, clean and functional. Home design - country home design idea in San Francisco

Sweet little country cottage, this home was built in the 1930's in Dallas, Texas. The master bathroom shown in the before photo was extremely small, unappealing, and did not utilize the best space. With the K. Rue new design, a larger shower was created and a major update to the cabinetry was involved. Notice the shower controls are placed on the end opposite of the showerhead to allow enough space for the water to heat up without soaking the user. Trying to eliminate constant distractions and interruptions, white and gray were the key colors in the bathroom to make a fluid statement. The small Carrara marble mosaic used on the floor was carried into the shower floor for a consistent rhythm. For an emphasized country cottage look, these 4x10 gray subway ceramic tiles add a slight rough and handmade look to the walls with an intentionally thick grout line. The cabinetry was purchased as one unit to appear as a furniture piece with built-in lavatories and faucets. Gray walls add a great accent to the almost all-white bathroom for depth and drama. This bathroom is open and spacious with high ceilings and even a sky light. Because this space is so open, we incorporated cabinetry throughout to add additional storage in the space. The shower is spacious and relaxing with 12" x 24" large tiles at a 50/50 pattern and a tiled pan shower flooring.

Our Client wanted to expand their Master Bath to bring in more light. We created renderings of their space to help them imagine the space and decorating style before we started construction. -Rigsby Group Inc.

Here is a master bathroom suite remodel with a striped-marble simulated waterfall shown in the mirror. If you look to the left in the background of the mirror you can see the simulated waterfall and fireplace. The other side of the fireplace is in the next photo. The mirrors are beveled with a hidden medicine cabinet.

If the exterior of a house is its face the interior is its heart. The house designed in the hacienda style was missing the matching interior. We created a wonderful combination of Spanish color scheme and materials with amazing distressed wood rustic vanity and wrought iron fixtures. The floors are made of 4 different sized chiseled edge travertine and the wall tiles are 4"x8" travertine subway tiles. A full sized exterior shower system made out of copper is installed out the exterior of the tile to act as a center piece for the shower. The huge double sink reclaimed wood vanity with matching mirrors and light fixtures are there to provide the "old world" look and feel. Notice there is no dam for the shower pan, the shower is a step down, by that design you eliminate the need for the nuisance of having a step up acting as a dam. Photography: R / G Photography

This master bedroom serves as a peaceful retreat. Notice that the sloped ceiling is painted correctly with the wall color to prevent the destruction of a shorter wall appearance. The dark espresso furniture and drum lamp shades give this room an updated design.
