This 1964 split-level looked like every other house on the block before adding a 1,000sf addition over the existing Living, Dining, Kitchen and Family rooms. New siding, trim and columns were added throughout, while the existing brick remained.

The original kitchen in this condominium was renovated arising from the need to replace Kitec plumbing. The work triangle remained generally the same, but numerous changes were made to improve the kitchen’s functionality, aesthetics, and lighting. Automation was also introduced. The goal was to design and build a modern contemporary functional kitchen with inspiring colours accented with textured wood features. The functionality was improved with the addition of an under counter microwave, which freed up countertop space. Additional and improved storage was also created by incorporating under cabinet drawers throughout the kitchen, a bar area with open glass shelving above, and open shelving to the right of the seating area. Upper cabinet storage was as well increased with storage above the fridge. Numerous lighting improvements were made including the addition of potlights. This was done by dropping the ceiling in the kitchen, which also created a visual division with the dining area. Automation was introduced as well into the space with HUE under cabinet lighting, and a touch faucet. The under cabinet lights are controlled by the Phillips Hue App that programs routines, scenes, and other settings. The kitchen features painted Shaker cabinets accented by textured wood shelving. The countertop surfaces are quartz with waterfalls on both sides of the island, which is a focal point. Shapes are also strongly identified in the design with the use of triangular tiles in the backsplash along with rectangular upper cabinets, and appliance doors and drawers. The one original bathroom to the home got reconfigured and remained a Jack and Jill style with reclaimed mirror, white shaker style cabinets and soft sconce lighting.

Mid-Century Remodel on Tabor Hill This sensitively sited house was designed by Robert Coolidge, a renowned architect and grandson of President Calvin Coolidge. The house features a symmetrical gable roof and beautiful floor to ceiling glass facing due south, smartly oriented for passive solar heating. Situated on a steep lot, the house is primarily a single story that steps down to a family room. This lower level opens to a New England exterior. Our goals for this project were to maintain the integrity of the original design while creating more modern spaces. Our design team worked to envision what Coolidge himself might have designed if he'd had access to modern materials and fixtures. With the aim of creating a signature space that ties together the living, dining, and kitchen areas, we designed a variation on the 1950's "floating kitchen." In this inviting assembly, the kitchen is located away from exterior walls, which allows views from the floor-to-ceiling glass to remain uninterrupted by cabinetry. We updated rooms throughout the house; installing modern features that pay homage to the fine, sleek lines of the original design. Finally, we opened the family room to a terrace featuring a fire pit. Since a hallmark of our design is the diminishment of the hard line between interior and exterior, we were especially pleased for the opportunity to update this classic work.

Once we removed the original cracked shower insert that was in this space, we were met with a large amount of dry rot, wall and floor damage that needed mitigating. After the extensive repairs were completed, we installed Schluter membranes and boards to ensure that the walls behind the tiles would remain dry and the water would remain exactly where it is supposed to be.

This garden started from an old vegetable garden tucked into an old estate property. The only element that remained was the privot hedge. My client wished to have a perennial garden that would be in a formal setting. So an axial line was

This kitchen received refaced cabinetry for a new color and door style. New backsplash was installed along with updated lighting and paint. Original flooring and countertops remain.

This natural and industrial kitchen features the elegant contrast of both light and dark, and old world and new. A sleek and streamlined concrete countertop spans the perimeter of the kitchen making this the room’s points of focus. Brandon Columbus of Oklahoma Construction LLC cast-in-place using SS Specialties enCOUNTER Grey Mix followed by SS Water Base 40 Epoxy and top coated with SS Water Base 60 Urethane as suggested by the manufacturer to ensure that it remains impermeable and stain proof. No color was added to the grey mix, which allows the authentic beauty of the mix to emerge. The contrast between dark hand scraped, rustic wood floors and the refined pure white cabinetry truly make this kitchen a work of art. Other nice touches include corrugated metal applied to the vertical wall facing the bar stools, reclaimed old barn wood on the sides of the center island with the butcher block on top and industrial lighting. The Scott Street renovation is a restoration and contemporary update of a traditional Victorian in San Francisco. The formal layout remained as a gesture to the home's historicity, while the basement level was extended significantly to provide more space to suit the client's needs. Modern fixtures, cabinetry, and finishes complemented the traditional aesthetic.

A quintessential 1925 bungalow located in the charming neighborhood of Virginia Highland in Atlanta, this project included a renovation of the kitchen, family room and powder room on the first floor, and the laundry and primary bath on the second. The Copper Sky Design + Remodel team reconfigured the first floor to better accommodate additional cabinetry and an island in the kitchen by borrowing space from what was a full bathroom and converting it to a half bath. Upstairs, unfinished attic space was converted to a roomy laundry room while the 200 square foot primary bath remained in its original footprint.
